Chapter 1 - This contract is terminated

At the break of dawn, Casiano Davies set foot on his homeland once again, and his secret lover, Alla Barton, was the first to be summoned to his No. 1 mansion. According to their custom, she had to cleanse herself thoroughly, without a trace of perfume or makeup.

Alla strictly adhered to his preferences. She bathed herself in clear water, slipped into an icy silk nightgown, and stepped into the bedroom on the second floor. Casiano was sitting in front of the computer, immersed in his work, and he merely glanced at her.

"Come here." His voice, cold and heartless, fell on Alla's heart like icy snowflakes, heavy and oppressive. His temperament was like a winter lake, deep and unpredictable, and Alla, fearing his irritation, didn't dare delay and quickly approached him.

As soon as she stood still, Casiano held her tightly in his arms, his slender fingers gently pinching her chin. He bent down, kissed her red lips, and forcefully pried open her teeth. He was never talkative, nor did he have time for tenderness. He simply and directly possessed her.

Although he seemed refined and restrained, he had no reservations about this matter. He had been away for another three months, and the prolonged abstinence made him more eager. As she had expected, when she woke up again, there was nobody by her side, and only the sound of water trickling in the bathroom indicated he was still there.

She tried to sit up and looked towards the bathroom. His slender figure was reflected on the frosted glass. Alla was somewhat surprised. He usually left before she woke up, so why did he stay this time?

A few minutes later, the sound of water in the bathroom ceased, and he walked out wrapped in a towel. Water droplets dripped from the ends of his hair, slid across his honey-colored skin, trailed down his firm abs, exuding an irresistible temptation. His face was as exquisite as a sculpture, his peach blossom eyes were deep and distant, but his body radiated a cold aura that kept people at a distance.

Casiano saw her awake, his eyes as frosty as ice, "From now on, you don't have to come." His words were as cold as the winter wind, and Alla was momentarily at a loss.

"This contract is terminated in advance." He turned around to get a document and handed it to her. Seeing the lovers' agreement, Alla finally understood that he wanted to end their relationship.

He didn't stay, he just wanted to tell her that their relationship was over. Over the five years, she had anticipated this day, but hadn't thought it would come about in this way.

Without any reason, without any explanation, it was like issuing a command. She suppressed the pain in her heart, slowly raised her head, and looked at Casiano, who was dressing.

"There's only half a year left on the contract, can't you wait?" Her voice was like a weak drizzle, yet it couldn't touch his heart. The doctor told her that she only had three months left, and she wanted to accompany him until the end.

Casiano didn't respond, he just looked at her coldly, as if examining an uninteresting object. His silence made Alla realize that five years of dedication hadn't warmed his heart, and she should wake up from this dream.

She took the contract and smiled lightly, "Don't be so serious, I was joking." She added, "I've not wanted to be with you for a long time. Now that the contract is terminated in advance, I couldn't be happier."

Casiano, adjusting the cuffs of his shirt, paused slightly. He looked up at Alla, her face didn't show any signs of sorrow, but rather a hint of relief and joy. This surprised him.

He frowned and asked softly, "You've not wanted to be with me for a long time?" Alla nodded lightly, "Yes, I'm not young anymore. I should get married and have children, I can't always follow you without a name or a share, right?" In fact, getting married and having children was impossible for her, but in front of Casiano, she wanted to leave with dignity.

She smiled and asked Casiano, "Now that the contract is terminated, can I have a boyfriend in the future?" Casiano's eyes were enigmatic. He looked at her for a moment, then picked up the watch from the bedside table and turned to leave.

"Do as you wish." That was the last thing he said before he left. Watching his retreating figure, Alla's smile gradually faded. Casiano hated others touching his things, but he didn't react when he heard she was going to have a boyfriend.

It seemed... he had truly lost interest in her.
