Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Lucas awakens in the middle of the night, disoriented and confused. He struggles as he tries to adjust to the darkness, and he looks around to find out where he is.

He was in the middle of a meadow with the moonlight shining upon him. A strange rock plate beneath him with mysterious letters engraved on it was glowing faintly with an otherworldly light. The light faded away. As Lucas feels a slight bit of headache, he realizes that he has no memory of how he got here.

The only information he remembered was that his name was Lucas. As he pieces together his thoughts, he hears a voice calling out to him. He turns towards the sound and sees a small, glowing ball of light floating in the distance. The circle of light seems to pulse and dances, beckoning him forward. Lucas moves his feet and steps forward to the light, his heart pounding in his chest. As he approaches, he sees that the light is actually a small, delicate fairy, a ball of shimmering radiance with delicate wings.

A fairy? he thought.

As he tries to figure out why he thought the fairy was unsettling to him, the fairy greets him with a warm smile. Lucas thought it was strange because the fairy emitted a light that overlays the entire body. Despite the fact that he could not see the fairy clearly, he noticed that the fairy smiled. He almost sensed the fairy's emotions.

Lucas was drawn to the fairy's gentle voice. The fairy explains that Lucas has been chosen for a partner.

"Thou shouldst consider thyself fortunate, mortal, for the chance to form a pact with me." The fairy said.

Lucas, of course, knowing nothing about this world, decided to walk away.

As he walked away from the shouting fairy, looking around made him realized that he was not in a good place to be. Middle of the night, wide open, and no weapons. Even survival instinct was warning him to get to the safety.

He made up his mind and headed towards the nearest forest he could find. Luckily for him the forest was not that far away.

As Lucas walks towards the forest, he is suddenly startled by a gentle breeze. Since wind has been calm this entire time. He took an another step noticing that the leaves in the trees ahead him stayed motionless.

Then he saw a shadow beneath him grew bigger.

His heart dropped and instantly plunged to his left. He felt the blast where he has been standing. Lucas, rolling on the ground, stood up and without hesitation ran to the direction of the forest to get to safety.

The fairy caught up to Lucas and continued to talk.

"As I was saying, it was the king's wish to make from a connection, so you must form a pact between us." fairy said.

"Not right now!" Lucas yelled while running out of breath.

Lucas saw the creature on sight while rolling on the ground. Only thing he could think of was a giant hawk. Just when Lucas was full sprinting, he saw a another attack coming base on the fact that his shadow was growing bigger. This time he decided doge right. Rolling on the ground hard. For the second time he pulled out the move way more smoothly. With fluid movement, he once again ran towards the wood.

He managed to reach the trees before the third attack. He need to make sure he was safe. Lucas hid behind the tree, looking back at the meadow only to witness a human sized hawk flying away.

After seeing a giant bird flew away. Lucas was relived and extreme tiredness hit him. Lying down on the ground.

Fairy was still talking about the importance of a contracts and other stuff. Therefore, Lucas interrupted her.

"Can you stop for a sec?"

"Very well, art thou prepared now to forge a pact with me?" The fairy said.

"No, not while I'm getting attacked by a giant hawk."

The fairy held her silence for minutes, then spoke again.

"Very well, then follow my radiance ." The fairy said coolly.

Lucas was uncertain whether to follow the fairy or just go on to a different path. Considering that he had nothing to lose he decided to follow the fairy. Guided by the directions given to him by the fairy. He continues on his journey, a glimmer of light catches his attention in the distance. Curiosity overtakes him, and he veers off his path to investigate. Approaching the light source, Lucas discovers a small, weathered hut nestled among the trees. Its wooden exterior bears time's marks, and intrigue surrounds the humble home. With cautious steps, he pushes open the creaking door and enters.

Inside, the hut is lit by a lantern and filled with dust particles in the air. Shelves filled with books, potions, and mystical artifacts line the walls, revealing the dwelling's mysterious nature. Curiosity drives him to examine the shelves and rummage through the scattered parchments in the hut. Among the ancient scrolls and trinkets, he uncovers a faded, weathered map concealed within a hidden compartment. Its intricate markings and unknown symbols suggest that it leads to a village.

A excitement fills Lucas as he realizes the significance of the map. With the map tightly clutched in his hands, he resolves to continue his search. Lucas picked up a book that caught his eye. He was stunned when he wiped the dust off that was on the top of the book. The book had the weird title "Guide for the Readers". Feeling that the book has the clue to his situation. Lucas opens the book and immediately starts reading. He gained the information from the book that shocked him.

The book was saying that every once in a while the world summons the traveler that is destined to save this world. The book also says that the traveler will be guided by the fairy to overcome the dangers that lie ahead from traveling. Lucas realized that the book was talking about him and he was the one who was destined to save this world. He continued to read and found out that the traveler can stop traveling to reject his duty, but the travelers are destined to save the world when they don't stop and stay in the one spot. Lucas was stunned to find out that he was the traveler that had to save the world. He continued to research but he did not find any more useful information. Lucas noticed that the objects in the huts were untouched by humans for a long time. Only clue that he could find was a lit lantern that looked like it was emitting light from nothing. Lucas decided that he is going to stay in the hut for the night and lie on the bed.

Next day, Lucas wakes up and continues to search the hut. Lucas found a bag of money in the cabinet and ten silver coins inside. He searched the hut, but couldn't find anything else useful. He grabbed the money bag, map and a few potions and left the hut. Leaving the hut behind, he steps back into the sunlight, his heart pounding with excitement. The sentence of the book of guidance echoes in his mind, he was destined to save the world. He makes his mind and sets off once again, fueled by the newfound hope that the map has bestowed upon him. With each step, Lucas becomes more aware of the weight of his journey. The summoning magic holds the chance to uncover the truths about him. He ponders the significance of this quest, feeling the weight of destiny upon his shoulders. As Lucas follows the map's directions, the terrain grows more rugged and unfamiliar. The path becomes winding, leading him through dense forests and across rushing streams. Lucas's footsteps echoed through the dense forest as he followed the path indicated by the map. The air grew thick with anticipation, as if the forest itself held its breath, sensing an impending encounter. Suddenly, a low growl pierced the silence, sending a shiver down Lucas's spine. He turned to face the source of the sound and locked eyes with a menacing, snarling wolf. The wolf, with its red fur bristling and fangs bared, lunged at Lucas with lightning speed. Instinct kicked in, and Lucas reacted swiftly, his hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of his rusty, beginner sword. With a fluid motion, he drew the blade and assumed a defensive stance. The wolf pounced, its claws slashing through the air. Lucas narrowly evaded the initial attack, sidestepping with swift motion. He could feel adrenaline coursing through his veins as he sized up his opponent, his eyes focused and determined. His heart rate was increasing, his muscles became tense, and he felt a wave of energy and confidence wash over him as he prepared himself for the next movement.

As the wolf lunged again, Lucas seized the opportunity, bringing his sword down in a powerful arc. The clash of metal against fangs echoed through the forest as the sword connected with the wolf's jaw. A fierce growl erupted from the wounded creature. He countered with a swift series of strikes, each swing of his sword calculated and precise. The wolf fought back ferociously, its claws slashing through the air in an attempt to knock Lucas off balance. Yet, he moved with agility and grace, his instincts guiding him through the fight. With each clash, the sound of steel against resistant red fur reverberated through the forest, a testament to Lucas's determination and newfound strength. He channeled his focus, honing in on the rhythm of the battle, anticipating the wolf's movements, and finding openings to strike. As the fight wore on, both Lucas and the wolf showed signs of exhaustion. Sweat dripped down Lucas's forehead, his breath coming in ragged gasps. The wolf, bloodied and wounded, growled with fury and desperation. In a final surge of energy, Lucas launched a decisive strike. With swift, strong steps, he lunged forward, driving his sword into the wolf's flank. A howl of pain echoed through the forest as the creature stumbled backward, defeated. Lucas stood panting, his chest pounding as he watched the wolf retreat into the shadows. The adrenaline slowly subsided, leaving him with a mix of exhilaration and awe at his own abilities. He wiped the sweat from his brow, feeling a renewed sense of confidence coursing through his veins.

The fight had not only been a physical struggle, but also a test of his inner strength and resilience. He realized that he was capable of more than he had ever imagined. With the wolf defeated, Lucas took a moment to catch his breath and collect his thoughts. He sheathed his sword and drank the one of the three potions that he found at a hut. Remembering The Book of Guidance said that the potion recovers the body from the exhaustion and any wounds. Within a few seconds, his body was fully recovered. Lucas breathed a great sigh of relief when he found out the book was telling the truth. The encounter with the aggressive wolf had marked a turning point in his quest. The fairy reminded him that he should continue on his journey before the lone wolf calls his friend for revenge. As he quickly moved on to another spot, Lucas was little worried that he might encounter another creature but the fighting spirit within him had been ignited. He was ready to face whatever awaited in his adventure.
