"Explain where I am and why I'm here."
...
Dr Takeshi and the stranger, a nurse if Itachi thought about it, both had anxious looks on their faces after feeling a bit of Itachi's intent to harm. The Doctor cleared his throat and spoke with a stutter at the beginning, " We.. Well you are in Saiseikai Central Hospital in Tokyo, Kanto region. You've been here for 2 years now suffering from a mana induced coma known as eternal slumber. "
"Mana?" Itachi wondered aloud. The nurse elaborated on Itachi's thoughts by saying, "Mana is a sort of spiritual energy born from the Gate Openings 9 years ago. It is most prevalent in Hunters, but detrimental to health of people that can't resist it such as yourself, " Dr Takeshi went on further, "Our research on etrental slumber showed that there was no way to wake someone from it other than hoping they do so naturally, which seem unlikely after all these years. But it seems the fates smiled upon you." Itachi meet his beaming gaze with a blank stare, "It would seem so," He said simply.
...
After that was said and done the doctor said that Itachi would to stay at the hospital for a few more weeks to recover his physical strength due to being asleep for 2 years , but mostly to run more tests on him and figure out how Itachi woke from eternal slumber.
Itachi didn't mind this as it gave him time to understand the condition of this new body more, he believed that it would take about a month of rest and exercise to get back to top condition by his standards.
One of the first things he noticed was internally, he couldn't feel his chakra anymore and initially that did cause him major panic he, however, didn't let it outwardly show because of his Shinobi training and years as a spy.
When he calmed down he could feel an energy within him similar to Chakra but much denser and unfocused.
'This must be the Mana that nurse Kinjo described to me earlier,' thought Itachi.
With how unrefined and unstable this energy felt compared to chakra, Itachi could understand how Mana could be detrimental to the health of people who couldn't withstand it.
He theorized after many hours that meditating and constantly circulating this new energy within him would help him recover his previous powers faster.
He came to this conclusion because of all the chakra theory he studied during his days in the Hidden Leaf, he figured that the same methods could be applied to mana.

"Itachi, you're mother is on her way, after she heard the news of you being awake she couldn't believe her ears. Best be ready for one bone crushing, hehe!" laughed nurse Kinjo.
'Oh that's right this child had a family, before I woke up in his place,' Itachi remembered.
The conversation after Dr. Takeshi and nurse Kinjo explained what happened him naturally steered in direction of his parents and legal guardians, not that Itachi needed that in his mind. It turned out that in this new dimension that his name was still Itachi Uchiha conveniently, so he didn't have to get used to responding to a different name.
"Itachi is that you?" asked a quivering feminine voice that sounded like it was on the verge of tears. Itachi turned his head to the direction of the voice and knew by some instinct that this woman in her late 30's with long silky aurban hair and onyx eyes was his mother.
"Yes it is and you are?" Itachi questioned even though he was certain of his deduction , he wanted to confirm.
"It's me Itachi, my baby boy, you're mother. Don't you remember me?" she questioned with endless amounts of emotion pour into her voice.
"My memories upon awakening have become a bit messy, but I'm certain you are thi...my mother, " Itachi said with no emotion in his voice.
No words were said for a few moments, until the woman started pacing to Itachi's bedside and sat on the end of the bed where Itachi's feet were.
"Since your memories are a bit messed up, why don't we reintroduce ourselves. My name is Izumi Uchiha and I'm your mother, Itachi," Izumi said with tears in her eyes as she held onto Itachi's hand with both of hers.
Itachi widen his eyes at the name, but didn't react beyond that only responding,"My name is Itachi Uchiha, nice to meet you Izumi."

1 Month later
...
It would take many rigorous hours of physiotherapy and exercise for Itachi to retain usage of his legs and be able to move freely.
During that month he was frequently visited by Izumi, she'd go on and on about work as waiter, things he used like before went to sleep involuntary as well as how she can't wait for him to come back home see the lovely new flowers she planted in the balcony garden.
Itachi would mostly tune out this chatter from Izumi, he appreciated the effort to reconnect with her son but Itachi was not him so couldn't be bothered to make effort connect like Izumi was. Although, he would admit hearing her talk about the new flavors dango did interest him quite a bit.
'I might have to try out those flavors when I'm 100% again,' Itachi mused to himself.
During this month news of his awakening from eternal slumber also reached across the globe. It left many doctors and scientists wondering about the catalyst of his waking.
The one month also gave him time to learn about his new reality through Kinjo, the brash nurse, mostly. He asked him to bring him books on mana, asked how hunters worked and to other dimensions.
Despite being a prodigy in his previous life and that he could pick up on complicated subjects naturally, Itachi was very studious and enjoyed learning and reading all these new things.
"Hey Itachi, your discharge forms have arrived just now. Your mom just needs to sign them and yer outta 'ere!" Kinjo exclaimed letting his accent slip in the process.
He clicked his lips together in frustration at this slip up, but Itachi paid it no mind and took the discharge paper from him.
"Why can't I just sign them and leave?"
"Cuz you're a minor and need a guardian's permission, as well as the fact that you're mom is gonna get you some proper clothes instead of this lost an found crap you got on right now," Kinjo told almost condescendingly.
"Hn", Itachi just grunted in response.
'My physical condition is back to where it should be thanks to physiotherapy and meditation sessions. I need to get out of this place so that I can test these new abilities,' Itachi thought to himself.
