...

"What! How!"

...

Mai was in shock staring at the second Itachi, then all of a sudden the Itachi she was on top of burst into a murder of crows and leaving no traces of person being there at all.

"This technique is called genjutsu," Itachi stated whilst looking down on Mai with his Sharingan active.

"Genjutsu? You mean illusions?" She questioned with a confused expression.

"Yes, specifically, the subtle genjutsu of my Sharingan eyes," Itachi informed Mai.

"Sharingan? You mean those crimson eyes of yours helped you cast this illusion," Mai tried to supply a probable answer to how the genjutsu was cast.

"Yes," Itachi stated with a blank face. "You should give up," Itachi continued on as he started to approach Mai who standing up, ready for a another round in their fighting.

[Genjutsu:Sharingan, Demon Illusion Shackle Stakes!]

...

Mai suddenly froze up and widened her eyes as she was impaled on all 4 of her limbs with giant stone stakes. They restricted her movement and she as noticed that she was in the Fighting Bay anymore, but in a strange world with crimson skies, black water beneath her feet and very oppressive bloodlust in the air.

'What...is...this!' She panicked. She has never felt so powerless in her life, even before she became a A-rank hunter.

But this was different, she felt as if she was at the complete mercy of Itachi and that terrified her.

"Still lucky, am I?"

...

"I told you to give up."

...

"You have no chance of winning."

...

Mai could do nothing, but listen to Itachi's distorted voice passing through this strange world of crimson and darkness. His voice felt as if it penetrated every cell in her body and weighed her body down, even more than the stone stakes on all 4 of her limbs.

"You..you win!" Mai gritted out the words as if they were poison.

Spontaneously the world spiral into itself right in front of Mai's eyes and shifted into the familiar white room. After a few moments she suddenly collapsed into unconsciousness.

...

"That genjutsu was harder to pull off than I thought," Itachi mused over Mai's unconscious body. It took a while for him to get the mana under control, so that he could pull off the first illusion on Mai after her Death Roll technique.

He clenched his right hand into a fist when he thought about how far he has to go to regain his visual prowess.

Itachi has always been a pacifist, but despite that has always been very power hungry and that hasn't changed even a world such as this. He liked the challenge of control that mana provided for him.

...

It took 5 minutes for Mai to regain consciousness and that was signified by her groaning.

"Ahh! What did I do last night, I feel like I was hit by a truck," She moaned out.

"A truck would be more forgiving," Itachi said amused a small smile playing on his lips.

"Itachi? The heck are you in here?" She questioned while holding her head.

"I was here to test for my hunter type," Itachi stated. 'I hope I didn't go overboard with the genjutsu,' Itachi thought with a sweatdrop.

"Oh! Yeah, it's all coming back to me," Mai said in realization. She then froze still for a moment and shivered in place.

Itachi looked over her confused, but she was back to normal before he could comment on it.

"Follow me to Evaluation Station 5," She said in a cold tone while looking straight at the exit door.

Itachi merely grunted in response and followed her to Station 5 where he was met with a man in a neat suit with well combed hair and sqaure glasses on. He turned his head towards the pair that were approaching.

"Old man, the heck are you doing here? Aren't you supposed be doing paperwork?" Mai questioned with a raised brow.

The 'old man' frowned and replied, "I came to see why you would cause an earthquake after last year."

"I held back this time!"

"Irrelevant, I told you that technique is forbidden within these walls," he stated in the same breath as Mai.

"Whatever, old man," She pouted with a rosy blush on her face while looking away from the man.

"Anyway, did you figure out what type of hunter this young man here is?" The glasses wearing man asked.

"He's an Assassin type," Mai said with certainty in her voice.

"Really now? What makes you so sure,"

"He may have the martial prowess of a fighter type, he has the swiftness and nearly undetectable presence of an assassin," Mai concluded from her fight with Itachi.

"To back up my claim he has illusions as a skill to compliment his assassin-like movements," She added.

"Illusions?" The man questioned. He was curious now, because in all his years as the head of this branch of the Japanese Hunter Association, he has never heard of an assassin with illusion abilities.

"My name is Onikawa Kento, head of this branch of the Japanese Hunter Association," The man, Onikawa, introduced himself to Itachi while bowing his head.

"Itachi Uchiha," Itachi replied doing the same.

"We will have your hunter license ready by tomorrow with all the necessary details written down for you to enter dungeons with other hunters," Onikawa elaborated to Itachi.

"First before you leave I would like to ask a question," He said to Itachi.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Would you like a position in ranks of the association? You are guaranteed a high wage and other very good incentives due to your high rank," Onikawa offered.

"No thanks, I think I will stick to this current path of mine," Itachi declined respectfully.

"Well that's unfortunate," Onikawa sighed with visible disappointment. "I hope to see again in future and hope my student, Mai, didn't give too much of a hassle," Onikawa chuckled while rubbing the back of his head as soon as he said the statement, because Mai struck him in head in a fit of petulance.

"The association will contact you via phone number and/or email address, so you know what time to get your license," Mai finished off for Onikawa.

"Alright," Itachi said simply and turned around to leave.
