As Lin Chang stepped out of the opulent manor, her mind was in a state of disarray. She couldn't quite wrap her head around what had transpired earlier. The events of the day had left her feeling perplexed and bewildered.
It took her a good twenty-five minutes to make her way out of the residential area where the Yun Family resided. As she walked, she couldn't help but marvel at the grandeur of the surrounding manors. It was clear that the Yun Family was no small fry, evidenced by the opulence of the surrounding grandiose manors and rich vicinity.
Lin Change was more captivated by the lush trees and verdant greenery that enveloped the vicinity. As she strolled out of the area, she was taken aback by the sight of people roaming freely on the streets, without any filtration devices in their nostrils. A smile of wonder and joy spread across her face as she took in a few deep breaths of the fresh, unadulterated air.
Today, she felt a sense of elation at being reborn in this era, where nature and humanity still coexisted in harmony.
She searched her memory and remembered where her mother lived. With each step she took, she marveled at the sights and sounds of a China that was still in its infancy, a land of towering edifices and bustling thoroughfares that seemed to pulse with life. Everywhere she looked, there were people hurrying to and fro, jostling for space in the crowded streets and alleys. And yet, despite the chaos and confusion, Serene felt a sense of wonder and awe at the sheer energy and vitality of this place, a feeling that made her heart sing with joy. For in this era, to walk the streets was to be alive, to be part of a world that was constantly evolving and changing, a world that was both exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure. And so, with a smile on her lips and a spring in her step, Serene set out on her journey, eager to explore the wonders of this amazing land and to discover the secrets that lay hidden within its walls.
As she walked forth on her journey, her eyes caught sight of a massive crowd amassed around the pathway.
The group of individuals had congregated in a circular formation around something. Intrigued by the commotion, Lin Chang made her way towards the crowd, her curiosity piqued. As she drew closer, she could hear the frantic chatter of the onlookers, their words tumbling over one another in a desperate bid to be heard. Suddenly, a woman's voice pierced through the din, her cries of panic echoing through the air.
"Please, someone help! Call an ambulance! My husband can't breathe!" The woman's voice was wrought with fear, her hands frantically trying to soothe the man's chest as he lay gasping for air on the pavement. As the tears streamed down her face, Serene couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy for the woman and her two little ones. The air was thick with emotion as the trio cried out for their beloved father. Meanwhile, the surrounding crowd eagerly captured the heart-wrenching scene on their cameras, as if it were some sort of spectacle.
But Serene was no ordinary bystander, she was a surgeon in her past life, therefore with her sharp medical background, she quickly deduced that the man was suffering from a heart attack. Without a second thought, she pushed her way through the throngs of people and sprinted towards the distressed family, her doctor's instincts kicking in.
"I'm a doctor, let me help. Please move aside and make space for air to pass freely. He's having a heart attack," Lin Chang spoke with a calm yet authoritative tone as she carefully laid the man's body on the ground and gently nudged the women and her daughter aside.
"Yo, where'd this crazy chick pop up from?"
"Hey, how old is she? Like 18 or 19?"
"Is she seriously trying to play us for fools, saying she's a doctor?"
"Kids these days, man. They're wildin'."
"Check out her outfit, she's probably just some druggie high schooler.".
The throng of people surrounding Lin Chang buzzed with disapproval, their disdain palpable. But Lin Chang was unfazed, her attention solely focused on administering first aid to the man lying before her. Her movements were precise and practiced, yet the onlookers still doubted her abilities, dismissing her as a mere teenager.
Suddenly, a rough hand yanked at her arms, jolting her out of her concentration. She turned to face a hulking man in his forties, his eyes blazing with anger. "Hey, you little savage, I already called the ambulance. They'll be here any minute, so quit messing around. This is serious business, not some game you can play hero".
But Lin Chang refused to be intimidated. With a steely gaze, she met the man's glare head-on. "I may be young, but I know what I'm doing," she declared firmly. "I won't stand idly by while someone is in need. I will do everything in my power to help, no matter what anyone else thinks." she looked around and then focused on the man.
The man's spouse observed Lin Chang's hillbilly attire and inquired with hesitation, "Excuse me, young lady, are you certain about your actions?" Despite her reservations regarding Lin Chang's competence, the woman did not exhibit any overtly negative behavior.
"Please trust me, Aunt. I am confident in my abilities," Lin Chang reassured the woman. Although she appeared composed on the surface, she was experiencing inner turmoil. In her time, if conventional methods of heart stimulation failed, KKG Cardioversion was readily available in her medical kit. However, this technique had not yet been introduced in the current era. Lin Chang was uncertain about her next course of action.
As she scanned the crowd, her heart sank at the sight of numerous phones pointed in her direction, capturing her every move. The cacophony of voices reprimanding her echoed in her ears, making her feel like a criminal on trial. Suddenly, a man holding a camera spoke up, his words dripping with disdain.
"This willful girl needs to be taught a lesson today, or else she'll continue to act out," he declared. The crowd murmured in agreement, their approving nods a silent condemnation of her behavior.
Lin Chang, experiencing a state of panic, was suddenly struck by an intense headache that proved to be unbearable. Reacting subconsciously, she began to massage her head while closing her eyes.
As she closed her eyes, a vivid image materialized in her mind's eye, leaving her bewildered and disoriented. What was happening to her?
But then, a memory surfaced from the depths of her consciousness, it was a passage from a Traditional Chinese medicine book she had studied during her final year. With a sudden burst of clarity, she realized what she needed to do.
She moved her fingers and pressed a few points called as acupoint called xi-cleft, which is Heart Meridian Acupuncture Point 6, followed by acupoint on her small finger which is point 9 also called as Jing Well and Wood point of the heart channel.
The precision and speed of her movement was nothing short of miraculous. In less than a second, the man's breathing had been stabilized, his body now lying motionless on the ground. Upon seeing the man lying unconscious but stable, the onlookers initially believed him to be deceased, resulting in a moment of silence before the women began to cry hysterically.
"Yo, you little wild child, did you kill him?"
"Don't let her get away, we gotta call the cops or something."
"Ha! You're screwed now, girl. We got proof and everything. Let's see you try to be a hero again," said that big dude who was threatening her earlier.
Then all of a sudden, they heard the ambulance siren and it pulled up right on time.
