Her countenance was a sight to behold, a beauty so rare that words could not do it justice. Even the most renowned actresses paled in comparison to her stunning features. Her petite face was a masterpiece, with sharp lines and piercing eyes that seemed to delve into the depths of one's soul. Her lips were perfectly proportioned, with a natural red hue that was simply captivating. Her cheeks were adorned with a hint of strawberry blush, adding a touch of youthful innocence to her otherwise mature and womanly aura. Her skin was as smooth as silk, with a porcelain white complexion that was simply breathtaking. And her sharp jawline only added to her otherworldly allure, a perfect combination of baby fat and sharpness that left one spellbound.
Serene couldn't help but wonder if Lin Chang had such a otherworldly looks, why did she opt for drag makeup and mismatched style like some road side tyrrent. She wracked her brain, trying to recall any hint of this drastic transformation in her past life, but came up empty-handed. The only thing that she remembered was that Lin Chang was hiding her true self in order to appear more powerful and unique.
What? Powerful and unique?
Was there something wrong with Lin Chang in her past life?
She checked herself out in the mirror again, grinned, 'she can wrecke this world with her killer looks and features'
"Chun, I brought some clothes for you to try," said Lin Chang's mother. Lin Chang quickly came out of the bathroom.
"These were the clothes I brought for Chun, but she left and never had a chance to wea…," Lin Lisha said as she looked up and was shocked to see her standing in front of her. Her eyes almost popped out of her sockets. After all this was a huge transformation that wasn't easy to digest, after all Lin Chang has transformed to a vision of beauty, a goddess in human form.
Lin Chang smiled and picked up the clothes her mother had brought. "Mom, these clothes will do," she said, turning to face her mother.
Lin Lisha blushed, her words stumbling out awkwardly. "C... Chang, it's really y... you. Please change your clothes and come down, dinner is ready." With that, she hurried out of the room, leaving Lin Chang to marvel at her mother's cuteness.
As Lin Chang descended the stairs, her eyes darted around the room in search of her uncle. But alas, he was nowhere to be found. "Mom," she inquired with a curious tilt of her head, "where is uncle?"
Lin Lisha's gaze flickered towards the old wallclock that hung on the wall, ticking away the seconds. "He should be back any moment now," she replied with a reassuring smile. Suddenly, the front door burst open with a thunderous crash, and a voice filled with excitement echoed through the house.
"Sister, we're rich! Look at what I've brought home!" Lin Bao's words were cut short as he caught sight of Lin Chang standing before him with a grin plastered across her face. He couldn't help but wonder who this adorable little girl was.
Lin Lisha rose from her seat, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Allow me to introduce you," she said, gesturing towards Lin Chang. "This is my daughter and your niece Bao. And Chang, this is your uncle, my younger brother."
"Uncle," Lin Chang repeated, her eyes widening as she took in the sight before her. Another strikingly handsome man stood before her, and she couldn't help but wonder if beauty ran in the Lin family's blood. Despite being 35 years old, her uncle possessed a charm that could make even high school girls swoon with just one smile.
Lin Bao was once again taken aback, his mind reeling with disbelief. He couldn't help but glance over at his sister, seeking her approval, for he never in his wildest dreams imagined that his niece would ever unite with them. It had taken him two long days to console his sister, who had wept uncontrollably for just as long. But as he gazed upon her now, her face beaming with joy, he knew he couldn't make things any harder for her. So, with a heavy heart, he awkwardly placed a stone in his hand on the table and muttered, "Chang."
Lin Lisha inquired, "What is this stone on the table?"
Lin Chang also noticed the rock and was surprised as she had little knowledge about it.
"Sister, I acquired this jadeitite rock from downtown today. One of my expert friends suggested that there is a high probability of white jadeite inside. I am confident that we will become wealthy after we cut it," Lin Bao exclaimed, completely disregarding Lin Chang.
"Did you not go to look for a job? Why did you go downtown? Did I not tell you to stop gambling?" Lin Lisha reprimanded her younger brother.
"Sister, I have already quit stone gambling a long time ago. My friend convinced me to come back today, but this time we have a win-win situation. It contains valuable Jadeite inside," Lin Bao explained.
Serene took the rock in her hands. In Serene's previous life, Jadeite was one of the resources that caused war between the Eastern and Western worlds. The Eastern world had a vast amount of jadeite, and during their era, jadeite was not only used for jewelry or artifacts but also in various futuristic gadgets. All the properties of jadeite were discovered by then.
Due to her passion for Jadeite Jewelry and its practical application in various medical equipment, she possessed a considerable amount of knowledge regarding the diverse types of jadeite and their resources.
As she was trying to examine the jadeite rock before her, her mind suddenly delved deep into its composition with a snap, a shift occurred, and she could sense inside the stone. Without even realizing it, she murmured, "This rock is empty."
As Lin Chang spoke, both Lin Lisha and Lin Bao turned their attention to her. Lin Bao, who had been hell-bent on extracting the precious Jadeite from the rock, suddenly lashed out at Lin Chang with anger.
"What do you know?" he spat. "You were just a pampered little rich girl. You know nothing about this rock. It was recommended to me by an expert friend."
Lin Lisha, however, was not so easily swayed by her brother's words. She glared at him, her eyes flashing with anger.
"If this friend of yours is such an expert, why did he give up the rock to you?" she demanded.
Lin Bao fell silent, cowed by his sister's fierce gaze. Meanwhile, Lin Chang felt a surge of confidence. "Uncle I know you don't believe me, but trust me I know little about stone gambling, as you said I have been in a spoilt rich daughter before, that's why I have know about stone gambling being in a rich circle"
Lin Chang was beginning to realize that her brain was now far more complex than she had ever imagined. The recurring incidents today that happened with her were a testament to this newfound understanding. It was as if her brain had unlocked a hidden potential, revealing a depth and intricacy that she had never before fathomed, now she had to test her abilities as soon as possible.
Lin Bao's confidence was shaken after hearing the words of Lin Lisha and Lin Chang. He hesitated before speaking, "This can't be true. I've already spent a whopping 8000 yuan on this Jadetite rock."
Lin Lisha was taken aback by his statement and cried out in disbelief.
While the two were engaged in a heated argument, Lin Chang's mind was preoccupied with a different thought. She just wanted to test her newly acquired mental abilities.
