He has been on the road for almost three hours,it was a very long day journey coupled with the uneasy feeling of going back home. As he entered the golden gate,he could see the gardeners,the various guards and various workers. All were bowing down to him as he pass through the gate with his car. On reaching the family main building he could see the black suited guards (Jacals),the maids and servants all lined up in an orderly fashion.
As he alight from his car he was immediately helped by his guards and servants. As he proceeded to the door all were bowing in respect,it was like a home coming of a king. As he looked up to the building he could see his siblings and step mothers all were looking at him as he made his way to the entrance. Judging from what he saw,he could tell that Javier was yet to arrive because if he was ,he would have been among those standing waiting for his arrival to greet him.
He was indeed his favorite,and just the idea of him not being there made him more sick."Hmmm,he looks plumpy now"Clara commented." Why wont he be ,he is now the heir of this family"Isabella responded as the two women gossips.
Climbing up the stairs he was welcomed by Adriana,"hey big bro, you look fat man"she complimented as she hugs him. Adriana was the last child of Mrs Clara. She was also a good friend of Rob. "What did you get for me,I won't like any of your bullshit excuses". "Common,you no how this work"he expressed as he use his hand to communicate that he was not to blame
On reaching the main building balcony he immediately genuflected in front of his step mothers."Get up my child, how was your journey?"Clara asked as she try to raise him up "it was fine mother". "Did you get me something this time?"Alejandra kindly asked. "Forgive me mother,I was really in a rush ", "don't worry son I was just pulling your leg"she chipped while smiling.
His relationship with his step mothers was getting better as compared to before. He knew that it was largely due to him now being the heir. They were his subjects and he is the head hence they always wanted to get on his good side.
Before the Will it was entirely different thing,they were never kind for once. He was neglected and also punished at any given opportunity even when he did no wrong. It would have been worse if not for Uncle Lois who always protected him.
His uncle, Lois Manik is the second son of Stark Manik. He was a military general before he retired. He always had his brother's back even at his death. His brother last command and wish was his purpose and he promised to do anything within his power to make it work. He is the father of two,both were girls. Lois was far a more better man than his brother,he was very smart, strong and good. He always seemed to know what to do at any given time.
After exchanging pleasantries with his siblings he went to his bedroom to rest to ready him for the task ahead. Just then a knock was heard from his door. He immediately opened it and alas it was Javier. They talked for quite sometime before he left him.
It was a close door meeting with everyone in the family partaking including Robben. Uncle Lois then told them the reason why they were called and also thanked them for responding on time."I have diagnosed of heart disease, though it have been long but this time is getting worse". Rob on hearing these could feel the next thing that was about to come but he still prayed earnestly that it won't come to that.
"I will leaving my position as the interim head so that the heir,Rob will continue". It was all over for Rob,his sweet simple life will now come to an end. 'How can I manage all this,just at twenty two 'he thought to himself. The idea was that he will complete his University before taking over but the impromptu decision of Uncle Lois has shattered everything.
Uncle Lois had done a tremendous job within and outside the family. He is still the only reason why the family were still together. That can not really be said for the Manik business though not bad but they gap between the Landsteins was just slim hence the need for a fresher blood.
After the meeting and dinner everyone went to his or her bed. By morning Rob was already on his way back to school but this time he was on his family private jet. All the necessary documents and things he need to know was already passed to him by Lois. He was also instructed to meet Lois at the Manik main headquarters where he will be introduced to the company.
It will surely be a stressful time for Rob. As he got to the airport he was driven home by his driver. Sir Maldini was also instructed to be on the watch out for Rob hence he went with Rob to Lontor University but he was staying on a different place.
The next day he went to the headquarters as Lois instructed. He dressed casually,he was on a sneaker jeans,puma wear and a pair of sneaker shoe. The Maniks headquarters was one of the most magnificent structures in Freedonia country. It was know for it's intimidating view.
"Hi, please can I see the manager of this company"he asked politely to a female receptionist who ignored him. Suspecting that maybe she didn't hear him he repeated it again "do you have an appointment?"she replied in a harsh tone but still Rob overlooked it. He wasn't in the mood for any drama,all he needed was just to meet the manager and probably the rest of the board.
"No,but please do me a favor of calling him,we were meant to see each other today". "Hmmm young man we follow protocol and since you don't have appointment you should make use of the door"the lady replied as she blows on chewing gum. Rob hesitated and just then the Manager came down "Good morning sir"the receptionist greeted as she threw away her gum in order not to be noticed by her boss. He ignored her "how can we help you young man?he asked politely as he switched his gaze to Rob who was just watching the receptionist throw away the gum. He was amused by her action,a person that was just showing authoritative aura, is now standing and most importantly was in the best humble deposition possible,eye service he thought to himself. He was jostled by the question from the manager. He immediately showed him his card and just then the Manager genuflected and welcomed him in with utmost respect.
The Receptionist was surprised she couldn't believe her eyes,just with a show of card,her Manager was already showing utmost respect to a boy that wasn't even up to half his age. She immediately felt bad and was scared that Rob will rat her out and have her sacked. She regretted being rude and inconsiderate to him,'he must be an important individual she thought '.
"forgive my inadequacy sir, please this way"the manager apologizes.
