Arunoth's POV
How long has it been since I had this much fun?
When I deceived a king to become immortal by killing and eating his children? Started a war between two peaceful countries? Or that time when I fought against an archangel? Although all of those are entertaining, they are never this fun and fulfilling.
After all, I am Arunoth. Count of Chaos, Archdemon of 7th pillar of the nine circles of hell.
As a Demon, we find pleasure and entertainment by causing chaos to the human world. However, I am different from the rest of us. I find fighting strong if not equal opponents to a death battle more entertaining. Fighting with all I had brought me an amazing rush of boiling passion.
And right now, I am fighting someone who can even kill me if it weren't for the fact that I am a demon. A young boy who donned pure black clothes. He is strong enough to cut off my body, which is hard enough to be compared with Damascus steel. His skilful technique to use his sword is impeccable, and he seemed to be able to control Mana very sufficiently. But the main focus is his speed. His ability to move an incredible speed as he accurately attacks the weakest part of my body is stupendous.
As expected from Horrowein's lineage. I have fought five of them at the same time in the past. Each of them have different fighting styles and abilities, and the fact that they are able to fight me evenly is incredible. But this one is the only can only can kill me multiple times by himself.
Garwyr Horrowein. The fact that he still can grow stronger since he is still young is very intriguing by itself. He also knows [Appraisal], meaning that he knows the secret system of the world or that someone told him about it. While I want to question him further, my enjoyment takes priority first.
With that, I decided to go all out by inserting my Mana into my muscles and summoned all my painbringers. To be able to go all out is my deepest desire and wish.
As I was about to get ready and attack him, he lowered his sword and closed his eyes. It looks like he gave up. Although I never let my guard down, I am quite disappointed. As I think about killing him, he suddenly whistled.
To be honest, I don't know what he's doing. Him whistling out of nowhere caught me off guard. All he does is whistling, and he never does anything other than that, but for some reason, I felt nervous.
The melody sounds so calming, and each tune gives you a sense of comfort, but to me, it sounds eerie.
Then suddenly he disappeared.
I looked around to try and find him, but I could not see him anywhere. It may look like he is completely gone, but I still hear him whistling. I tried to follow the sound of where it came from, but it echoes throughout the room, making it more confusing as to where it came from.
Feeling confused and nervous, I try to find him again by using a "skill" called "Search," but the result made me more confused. Apparently, he is everywhere in the room, which makes me more nervous.
I released my dark Mana and spread everywhere around the room, but I still couldn't find nor made him reveal himself.
Then suddenly, the whistling stopped.
Everything is silent.
The silence is so deafening as it is frightening, and every second passed felt like an hour.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Nine.
Ten.
These ten seconds felt like an eternity, and then all of a sudden, I got sliced in half.
Before I could keep up with what's happening, my body got sliced yet again. The whistling continues as my body keeps getting sliced into pieces.
"Idyu Mer-...!"
Before I could chant a dark magic spell, my tongue got sliced up. The attack keeps coming and coming before I could even try to reattach myself. it kept going until my Mana ran out for trying to reattaching myself.
Incredible.
That is all I could I think of, and then my body burned into ashes as he attacked me one last time.
Haha, to think I've been denied to fulfil my wish to fight with all I got. I could not even do anything this time.
Before everything went black, I saw a particular pattern of his sword.
It was a wolf symbol.
Ahh, I see.
When I looked into his status, I saw a particular title that I kept wondering about.
[The Whistling Wolf]
And now I am convinced.
I was the prey, and he is the hunter.
Hahahahaha.
And with that, I've gone back to hell.
Garwyr's POV
"... Looks like he is dead for sure this time."
His body burned and turned into ashes. It's a particular sign that the Demon has died. With that, I relaxed a bit and retrieved all the important items that I could find, namely the book and the ashes.
I examined the room to see if I missed anything, and so far, nothing else can be found in this room.
I sighed deeply, thinking how tiring it was to fight a named Demon. I searched the two observers' corpses, and I found a note.
It's a list of all things that they've done in this room.
I left it all alone together with the documents that I investigated so 'they' could find it and use it as evidence to bring Theo to prison. Of course, I kept the documents that I needed to report to my master.
Oh? Speak of the devil. Looks like 'they' have come to raid from the upper surface.
'They' are the knights of Sarvall kingdom. With a tip and a little 'threat', I managed to guide them here. Looks like my 'insurance' paid off.
With that, I left the underground basement and forcibly opened the door, leading to it so they could rescue the victims and find out what is happening there.
By the way, I made it look like the Demon killed the observers and the hooded figures by leaving some ashes of the Demon.
I left the secret building as it was raided by the knights.
Finishing what I needed to do, I returned back to Garehis to report my findings to Perry.
