Demons.
Humanity's greatest enemy. It is not an exaggeration when they said it. After all, They are beings of pure malic and evil. A single individual of their kind is enough to bring chaos. What is worse is that the one in front of me is a named is a lot more powerful and sinister.
The summoner laughed loudly, feeling confident after summoning the Demon with some sort of ritual.
"Hehe, Hahahahaha! A Demon! A real Demon! Master Theo, I have done it!"
The Demon examined the room and then looked at the summoner.
"Hey Gary! Tell the Demon to help me! I'm f*cking dying here!"
"... Noisy. Arunoth! I am Gary, the one who summoned you. As the contractor, I order you to heal him with your magic."
"..."
Arunoth gave Gary a bored look.
"Why should I obey a lowly human?"
"What?!"
The summoner is shocked by what the Demon said.
"W-why?! There should be a contract between us when we made the ritual!"
"Oh?"
He looked at Gary with interest. He walked towards him while asking him a question.
"And? Who told you that?"
"N-no one! This book that master Theo gave me said so!"
Gary stepped back and staggered as he showed a book from his pouch. Arunoth examined the book and let out a laugh.
"Hahahaha! Looks like Servaro is working hard!"
He seemed to be in a good mood as he let out a grin and laughs. Gary and Erren looked confused as to what Arunoth was saying. He looked at them and gave them a mocking look.
"That book can only summon us, not make contract.
"B-but it said that -...."
"As if we will have a contract with such a pathetic offering."
The summoner, Gary, looked at him with a frightened expression.
"N-no way..."
"Bingo! Now that we have more ways to get to this world, we can finally have some fun! Hahaha!"
The two observers looked him with horrified expression as they imagined it.
"Ahh, now that I have fill of laughter, time for you to die. And since I'm in a good mood, I'll let you two say your last words."
Arunoth gets closer to them and drew out an ominous red long sword from out of nowhere.
"P-please spa-...!"
"Wait, I-...!"
He chopped off their heads without letting them finish their sentence.
"Just kidding."
He smiled as he wiped off the blood from this sword.
"Humans are so pathetic. So greedy. So puny. So stupid. Getting their hands on everything no matter what even though they have it all. Power, Fame, Money, and Talent, yet they still wanted more."
He gleefully said, and then he looked at me with a grin.
"Don't you think it's funny?"
Right now, I am on upmost vigilance. No matter how you look at it, engaging with him is inevitable.
"Sorry, good sir, but I am also a human, so i do not find it funny."
I try to humour him.
"Is that so? Then can you tell me something funny then?"
"Sorry, but my sense of humor is gone, and I'm trying to find it."
I said with sarcasm. Demons will often try to play mind games to mess with humans, so it is better to ignore them or play along with them to never show any weakness.
The Demon seems to be amused. He came closer to me, and then he bowed as he introduced himself.
"I am Count Arunoth, and may I have your name?"
"...Garwyr."
To be honest, I am quite confused as to why he is talking to me. From what I saw just now, he seems to be looking down on humans, but he is talking to me with no mocking tone.
He frowned for a bit, then smiled.
"Excuse me, as we are both came from a noble lineage, a proper introduction must be in order."
I see. I don't know how he knows that I am from a noble family, but it's true that when nobles greet each other, they properly introduce themselves with manners.
"Right now, I am a nobody."
"Ah, I see, so you're going incognito."
He nodded, looking amused.
"... Do you need something from me?"
"Hmm? Nothing much, I just thought that I'm about to have some fun."
"..."
"I know that you're strong, and what is more entertaining than fighting someone like that?"
He grins as he releases a burst of magical power.
"Right now, I am bored, and you're a perfect opponent to relive my boredom."
"... Looks like this will be troublesome."
I whispered to myself and drew my sword.
I took a deep breath and concentrated. I enveloped my body with my Mana and readied my sword. I gripped the handle as hard I can as I focus on my opponent.
We stared at each other for a few seconds.
And then, in a blink of an eye, I sliced off his head.
