When we sit beside the campfire, i thought that he was gonna ask me about my situation, but he's just hand me a notebook.
He said that i should read the first few pages so he can understand what sort of education i have. Maybe he is just being considerate to me, or he really just wants to know.
When i read the content, I realized that this is a monster encyclopedia. It depicts all sort of information such as habitat, materials harvested from said monster, and their characteristics.
Realizing that i have understood the content, he nodded and gave me a notebook with a pen and an ink.
"Since you can read that well, here's for you."
"Oh, thank you."
I took the notebook and thought about what should i do with it.
"I feel like you're need it since you seem like the curious type."
He's not wrong since i'm pretty much curious about everything. Now that i feel like everything seems to calm down, i decided to ask him about something.
"You're a hunter, right? Do you use some sort of skills when you hunt?"
"Huh? What skills?"
"You know, Skills like 'Snipe' when you use your bow or "Ambush" when you use a dagger."
He gave me a questioning look despite it being blank.
Wait, does that mean he doesn't use any skills or magic?
"What are you talking about?"
"Wait, you really don't know?"
"About what?"
"Skills! You should know about it since you have 'Status', right?"
"Seriously, what are you talking about?"
I'm shocked. Does that mean there is no game like concept to this world? But i can use 'Appraisal' and can even see statuses.
"Umm, lemme check something."
I 'looked' at my own status to double-check something.

Yep, i could see my status quite clearly. If Garwyr doesn't know this, does that mean that i'm the only one aware of it, or maybe it is available only to me? To make sure, I'll just ask him.
"Umm, can you say 'Status' or think about 'status' in your mind?"
He sighs and then says,'Status'.
"..."
"..."
He gave me a blank look.
"...Nothing happened?"
"I don't know what you're expecting, but there's nothing."
"No way..."
It appears that i'm the only one who can use it. No wonder other children looked at me like i'm crazy back in the orphanage.
"Hey, what does 'Status' do anyway?"
"...It shows your overall state like HPs and stuff."
He seems confused. I guess even Stats like HP is also not known, though I should've guessed.
"So you can use it?"
"...Yes."
"Does that mean everyone can use it back in your place?"
"Nope, I'm the only one who can use it."
"... So it's all in your head."
" Hey! I can really use it, I'll show you!"
To show that I can really use it, I checked his status.

Wait, wait, wait!
Does that mean that he is so strong that my appraisal doesn't work with him unless it's lv.9?
Garwyr looked so amused seeing my dumbfounded expression.
"So what did you see?"
"...Nothing."
"Yep, I figured as much."
He might have thought that I was making it all up when he said it. Just when I am about to say something, he asked me a question.
"If you don't mind me asking, where did you live before?"
"An orphanage, though I don't know the name of the town where it was."
"... Wait, you're an orphan? Then how did you know how to use 'Fire' magic?"
"Cause I know what to do?"
"No one taught you how to do it?"
"None, I just know because i have 'Fire Aptitude' in my status besides no one is willing to teach an orphan anyway."
He gave me a dumbfounded look. He thinks for a few seconds, then nods with an understanding.
"Looks like I have to teach you a lot of stuff about common sense and normal outlook in life."
"Huh?! Why?!"
"It's because you lack both of them!"
"What do you mean?! I may look crazy when I talk about status and whatnot, but it's normal to use magic, right?"
"Of course it's not normal! You must first learn how to control your own Mana and understand your body flow to be able to use any magic.
"Huh? is that how it is?"
"How do you come up with using magic on your own anyway?"
"...My past life?"
"That's the same as saying you're making it all up."
He doesn't believe me yet.
