To wake up tends to be a peaceful process of coming out of the dreamworld and into this one.
'tends'...
For Jörm it awoke with a tremendous screech. Jörm never felt fire but if it had to guess, this is what it would feel like. Every cell of it's body was vibrating in pain.
And then Jörm felt it. The presence of thousands of little worms inside it's newly awaken body didn't help to this.
'Pain. Bad. Me no like' - Jörm
Jörm started to flail about sending tremors in every direction. No. Not just tremors. But pulses of mana that bent the earth itself. Shifting it, shaking it to Jörm's will.

Within relative divinity lay a sentient worm numbed to the stimuli. Even hating the relative blessings he should be thankful for. But despite his hate all he could think about was those dam leaves that the entire forest sort after.
'What tf is happening to me. Mm mm Yummy leaf. What was I thinki... it hurts. Leaf!!! Why is this happening to me?!? I need more leaf. Give me more!! Give me more what?? Who cares? Leeeaaaa....'
A sudden shake in reality threw Finn up and the leaves sunk down into a newly formed cavity under him. 'Noooo my leaf'. Instantly Finn rushed off the ledge that was pushing him up only to get swept away by a sudden sideways torrent in the earth. As if it was liquid with an extreme force behind it.
'Noo come back. Don't leave me. Leafffff. My precious. My precious Leaf!!!!'. Instantly Finn knew who was responsible. 'That oversized overused stupid troupe wannabe fat worm. That idiot will pay for this if it's the last thing I do'
And just like that he was swept away in a sea of cold wet hard dirt. Straight upwards toward the world he once resided, towards the world he has forgotten. The only hope for him is leaf.

Quinn was a bit luckier. Only due to the distance he created between him and Jörm but he could still feel the tremors.
'Well, more like experience them. I'm getting thrashed around. If my thinking is corrected, we must be near a creek that oxygenates the water. How else is this Goliath meant to breathe with limited surface area. And somehow I'm thankful for biology in Highschool.'
But what was Quinn to do? He was stuck in something akin to a natural disaster. Scrap that, this disaster had intent. A mastermind behind it. Revenge for infecting it with an inferior specious.
But it was blind revenge. Jörm didn't know it was thrashing around the worm responsible for it's pain. It thrashed around the earth in blind rage. And this was evident in the cross roads it gave Quinn.
Two equally powerful currents of liquid earth. One with him in it and the other a possible getaway. Or trap. And Quinn felt this.

'Woah, what do I do...' Time seemed to freeze. A phenomenon closely related to death. 'Am I going to die? Oh shit I'm actually going to die. No fucking way. After all this sh... malarkey, I can't die. I don't want to die'
Extending it to the max using all his concentration he felt every tremor, every echo until he knew. That there was no way to tell if he should switch or not. A 50% chance of him dying.

He suddenly knew. He was heading straight towards a rock wall. One that would probably kill him. And the other went straight into another torrent. He had to gamble. Could he withstand that blo....
'I don't have time to think. Just do. I can't stop. I don't want to hit that stupid boulder.'
[[Dig] Activated]
He used all he strength and speed to flail him to the other current but atlas to no avail. He wasn't gonna make it.
'If only I could [Dig] like the giant obese worm. Wait let's'
The earth sweeping him away started to move around him but he was still in the stream. He is cutting it way too close for comfort then.

The last extra boost Quinn needed too...
He didn't make it. He stuck his head into the other torrent and it spun him off course riding the edge of the underground stream heading towards the large rocking until he felt something solid against his tail.
His tail was struck in the hard compact soil on the edge of the stream. Quinn managed to catch himself before he encountered the clusterfuck of whirpools and currents that would surely kill him twice over.
[[Expansion] Activated]
Quinn anchored himself down.
'How am I gonna get out of this??
Answer: I won't'
Every second he stayed in this position his entire body screamed in agony. Time was ticking. Sooner or later he had to face certain death.
