In the early years of their friendship, Raven and Grace were inseparable. They first met in 4th grade as classmates, and their connection was instant. Their bond grew stronger as time passed, and they shared countless memories of laughter, adventures, and support.
However, at the end of 4th grade, a trivial misunderstanding escalated into a silly conflict that caused Raven to distance herself from Grace. It was a painful and confusing time for both of them, but circumstances led them to be placed in different classes for 5th and 6th grade. Their separation only deepened the void between them, and they missed the warmth of each other's friendship.
Then came 7th grade, and life took an unexpected turn. COVID-19 struck, disrupting their routines and forcing everyone into remote learning. But in an odd twist of fate, Raven and Grace found themselves in the same virtual class. Despite being classmates once more, they hadn't spoken or reconciled.
During the online classes in 7th and 8th grade, Raven realized that she had a knack for utilizing her time in a different way. While her classmates attended virtual classes diligently, Raven explored her creativity and passion for digital art and graphic design. She honed her skills, creating captivating illustrations, and just did everything online apart from paying attention to her class.
Time flew by, and before she knew it, the year 2022 arrived, marking the return to normalcy after the harsh COVID-19 restrictions. The classroom came alive with the chatter and laughter of students who had been apart for so long. For Raven, it was a revelation to finally see her classmates in person, as most of them had been mere names and faces on a screen during the past year.
Among the sea of unfamiliar faces, there was one person who stood out like a beacon of familiarity β Grace. Despite the conflict they had experienced in the past, Grace had remained a constant presence in Raven's life, and their bond had endured. As Raven navigated the initial awkwardness of being physically back in school, she found comfort in sitting next to Grace, someone she knew.
As luck would have it, Grace had 4 friends since 4th grade that she was in touch with. Grace's friends in 4th grade were of 2 groups. Raven, Grace and Sherin were a trio. Sherin had another friend who was Shawn. Shawn was close friends with Vesper. Sherin left the school.
So Shawn, Vesper and Grace were a trio in 5th grade and were even more close. All of them didn't have any other friends apart from themselves. Grace was separated from her other 2 friends. So The only person she knew was Raven.
It was as if the universe conspired to bring them together once again. Raven was initially unsure about how Grace would react to her presence, but to her relief, Grace greeted her warmly with a smile.
As days turned into weeks, Raven and Grace began to talk and reconnect. They shared stories of their time apart, and slowly, the wounds of their past conflict started to heal. They found comfort in each other's presence, just like old times. It was as if they had never been apart, their bond as strong as ever. At the beginning of 9th Grade Raven sat with Grace and it continued like that until this day (10th grade).
Raven couldn't help but tell Grace about the teasing she endured from her group of friends. "Look, Grace, the whole group was teasing me again about love. I've told them a million times that it's not something I'm interested in, but they keep bringing it up," Raven said, her voice tinged with a bit of annoyance.
Grace laughed softly, a glimmer of amusement in her eyes. "Oh, Raven, what else will they do to pull your leg, huh? You roast them all the time, and the only way they can get back at you is by teasing you about love," she replied, teasingly.
Raven glanced at Grace, her lips curling into a smirk. "Oh, great, so now you're on their side too?" she retorted, playing along.
Grace chuckled, giving a faux-confident nod. "Duh, of course! I've got to support your dear friends, right?" she replied, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"But you deserve to be told that," Grace insisted, her voice gentle but firm.
Raven raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "What did I do to be told about relationships and all that?" she questioned, genuinely perplexed.
Grace took a deep breath, choosing her words carefully. "Look, you need to stop roasting and teasing them about their so-called affairs in school," she said, concern evident in her tone.
Raven shrugged, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "At least they have ships that can sail," she quipped, her playful nature coming to the surface.
"Just don't, dude," Grace urged, her expression imploring Raven to consider her words seriously.
Raven paused for a moment, taking in Grace's earnest plea. "Okay, female, I will stop the day you create the YouTube channel," she retorted, teasingly, knowing how much Grace hesitated to put herself out there on social media.
Grace rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. "See, you are still supporting them," she said, gesturing to the rest of their friends.
Raven chuckled softly. "It's best if you start hanging out with them itself," she replied, teasing Grace about her unwavering loyalty to herself.
Grace playfully nudged Raven, the unspoken understanding between them always on spot. Both friends share a good-natured laugh. Their friendship was a dance of teasing, laughter, and genuine care.
As the group of friends are seated together in class waiting for the teacher to come, the conversation inevitably drifts toward the topic of Raven's close friendship with Grace. Kyle, looking genuinely perplexed, couldn't help but express his confusion.
"Raven always sits with Grace, even when we tell her to sit with us. What's up with her?" Kyle wondered aloud, his curiosity evident.
Parker and Sabrina exchanged knowing glances, having witnessed Raven's unwavering loyalty to her best friend. They were quick to dismiss Kyle's approach, valuing the importance of personal choices in friendship.
"Raven can sit with whomever she wants, Kyle. It's her choice, and we should respect that," Parker chimed in, his tone nonchalant yet resolute.
Sabrina nodded in agreement, adding her perspective. "Absolutely. We all have our own preferences when it comes to friends and who we feel comfortable with. Raven and Grace have a unique bond, and it's natural that they enjoy spending time together."
Mae, always one to provide insight and empathy, jumped into the conversation. "You know, Raven's teasing and playful interactions with Grace are a big part of their friendship. It's just their way of connecting with each other."
Damian, who had been quietly observing the discussion, decided to share his thoughts. "Friendships are like puzzle pieces, each fitting together in its own way. Raven and Grace simply click, and it's beautiful to see."
Amanda nodded in agreement. "Exactly! They've been friends for so long, and it's amazing how close they are despite having separate friend groups. They have a bond that goes beyond social circles."
Bailey, who had always appreciated the dynamics of their group, added a playful comment. "Well, we can't deny that they have a special connection, even if they do drive each other crazy at times."
Zara grinned, playfully poking fun at Raven and Grace's antics. "They're like two peas in a pod. It's fascinating to watch their banter."
Mae's voice joined the lively conversation, adding her own perspective. "Exactly! Raven enjoys Grace's company, just as she loves being with Parker. And hey, Raven playfully hits Parker when he's being his innocent self. It's all part of their dynamic," she said with a warm smile.
Parker couldn't help but grin, fully aware of the teasing he received from Raven. "Yeah, Raven loves to give me a hard time, but it's all in good fun. We have a unique friendship, just like she does with Grace," he chimed in, laughing good-naturedly.
The rest of the group nodded, their expressions reflecting understanding and acceptance.
On the other hand, as the conversation about their YouTube channel continued, Grace found herself considering the practical aspects of their endeavor. "So, how are we going to make money, Raven?" she asked, her thoughts shifting to the logistical side of their creative project.
Raven, always one to playfully tease her friend, responded with a smirk, "Well, Grace, you can't just leave all the editing and research to me. We need to figure out our roles here."
Grace laughed, fully aware of Raven's expertise in video editing. "Fair enough. I'll admit, my editing skills are not up to par yet," she acknowledged, accepting her friend's challenge with good humor.
Raven continued to grin mischievously. "Ah, finally you admit it! But don't worry, we'll work on that. Besides, what do you do all day at home?" she teased, knowing Grace's routines quite well.
In a slightly defensive tone, Grace replied, "Hey now, I send you reels and watch K-dramas. That's a job in itself!"
Raven chuckled, fully aware of Grace's love for Korean dramas. "Oh, I never dismiss your dedication to K-dramas. But perhaps you can put that extensive knowledge to good use. Maybe create YouTube videos or something related to your passion," she suggested, offering a playful nudge of encouragement.
With a determined glint in her eyes, Grace took a moment to consider Raven's suggestion. "You know what? You're right, Raven. I've always thought about creating content related to K-dramas, and this might be the perfect opportunity to do it," she said, her determination shining through.
Raven couldn't help but smile at her friend's newfound enthusiasm. "Who knows, maybe you'll succeed in life and cover up all those countless hours spent on K-dramas," she added sarcastically, nudging Grace playfully.
A fire ignited within Grace as she made a decision. "Okay, Raven, I'll do it this time. I'll actually take the step and start creating content," she declared, her excitement and determination palpable.
Raven raised an eyebrow, playfully challenging her friend. "Hmm, it's been almost a year since we first talked about this. You've said it before, Grace," she reminded her with a grin.
Grace, resolute in her decision, nodded earnestly. "I know, I know. But this time, I mean it. I've thought about it, and I'm ready to give it a real shot," she replied, determination evident in her voice.
Curiosity and anticipation danced in Raven's eyes as she looked at her friend. "Alright, Grace, let's see if you can turn those words into action. I'll be waiting to witness your content creation journey," she teased.
Grace met her friend's gaze with a newfound sense of confidence. "You won't be disappointed, Raven. I'm committed to making this happen," she asserted, ready to take on the challenge.
Raven couldn't resist teasing her further. "Oh, yes, Grace. I've heard this all before. Promises, promises, but I've yet to witness any action," she said mockingly, knowing that Grace's enthusiasm had occasionally waned in the past.
As the two friends continued their playful banter, their math teacher unexpectedly entered the classroom.
