The stone walls were hardened with death arts, so much so that he could never destroy them with his current powers.
In the moment where even a gap existed, he grew beyond himself, and the wall was strengthened again. The damage to the wall is also repaired again and again.
A few small cracks always remained, and Thanatos loved to look at them. Every single one of them was a medal for him, proving how often he had already surpassed himself.
Thanatos summoned his Soulsycle and put it into a small pile of earth he had in here for just this reason. He was able to control the abilities of his soulsycle at any time and from anywhere. All he had to do was summon it. The weapon could lie 30 km away in a riverbed somewhere, and he could still use the ability; it was just stronger and easier to control with the Soulsycle.
Thanatos walked towards a wall where bandages lay in front of it, wrapped them around his fist, and began to beat the wall at regular intervals. 250 blows per side.
He punched the wall with sometimes soft and sometimes hard punches. But the more punches he threw, the more powerful they became. He did that in an endless repeat until he finished this little exercise.
"What am I even doing here that this is useless? I think I should concentrate more on you."
Thanatos walked to his sword and talked to it as if it were an old friend of his.
He picked up his sword and pointed its tip at one of the walls. The green-black energy slowly floated out of it like water.
The liquid spread out on the ground and now covered the ground with a layer as high as his pinky toe.
The liquid began to levitate into the air and summoned itself around Thanatos sword, lengthening the blade of his sword.
Thanatos swung the sword from top to bottom. The liquid lounched towards the wall, hardened, and became a deadly spinning wheel.
The wheel crashed against the wall and resounded in a battle of power. In the end, the wheel won and cut its way through the wall.
"This really works. I wish I would have done that back then."
Thanatos was unsure if that would have changed anything and sat cross-legged on the floor and thought about what to do. He looked at his sword lying on his lap and examined it closely, looking at the sharp blade and the leather around the hilt. He looked at the sword with his entire being, as if it were a riddle he wanted to solve.
'Can't you help me guide it?'
Suddenly an idea popped into his head: his Soulsycle was not a simple sword he had to wield; it was a living being with a personal character.
"Hey, old friend, can't you give me a hand?"
At first he didn't move, but as time passed, he felt the sword move slightly. It felt to him like a slight twitch. As if it was not sure.
Thanatos grabbed the sword and shouted energetically, "From now on, you will also help me a little. I'm pretty sure you don't like me pawing you and bossing you around."
----
Thanatos training ended after five hours on this day; at this very moment, it was deep in the night. At 3 a.m., Thanatos didn't think that anybody would have been asleep by now. But there was still someone who was not lying in her bed in pieces.
Camilla was sitting on the floor with her eyes closed; it looked as if she waited for Thanatos to come out and then fell asleep right here on the spot. Thanatos remembered that Camilla has always been a person who could sleep anywhere at any time.
Thanatos looked at her and decided that whatever she wanted to say to him, she would also be able to do that tomorrow.
He lifted her up like a princess and carried her to her room. Camilla was known as the maid with privileges within this clan. Normally the maids sleep in rooms together, but she has one of the guest rooms all to herself. Camilla never said anything about this; she appreciated the fact that she could eat and talk comfortably with Areus and Helene. They both consider her already a daughter-in-law and would find it strange if she had to talk to them politely. Thanatos I. was a different story; he would never see someone as a daughter-in-law until the day of the marriage.
Camilla also wouldn't want to talk to him in a casual manner; she saw sides of him that were ugly and, in her words, shit. She would consider Helene and Areus her perants, but this man would still be a stranger to her even if she married Thanatos.
As they arrived at the house, Thanatos laid her on the sofa, put a warm blanket over her, and then walked away.
A few hours later, Camilla woke up and made herself ready to work, but first she needed a cup of coffee. She never goes to work without her morning coffee.
Knock, knock.
When her soft lips touched the cup, someone knocked on the door and wanted something. At this time, it was probably either a maid or Helene who wanted to talk with someone and complain about the world. At the beginning, she still dressed herself up for this, but after time, she and Helene grew more and more comfortable with each other, and now they talk to each other in nightgowns.
Camilla opened the door, and to her surprise, Thanatos stood in front of it.
"Hey Cami, can I come in? Thanatos asked; he wore simple and causal clothes, and for Camilla, he looked stunning as always.
"Wait, what? Am I mean, come in sure?" This was an absolute nightmare for Camilla; she could only think in this situation that she would like to have the ability to get dressed up at any possible second. Her hair was a mess, and for some reason she had her maid clothes on when she woke up. So this was fine; she knew that she was naturally beautiful and didn't need any form of make-up to look pretty, so this was fine too.
"What do you need, Than? Have I forgotten about something?" That was a rhetorical question. Camilla would never forget if, for some reason, the two said they were going to meet or something like that. The chance that she would forget about things similar to this was zero.
"Yes, it is something related to Haruka; we still have to register her into Grim School, and since you wanted something from me not too long ago, you can come with me, and on the way, you can tell me what you need."
Camilla wore a puzzling face. When did she want something in particular from him? She remembered nothing regarding this manner.
Thanatos saw the puzzled expression on her face and proceeded to talk.
"When I came out of the training room, you slept on the floor. I assumed that you waited for me to come out because something bothered you. I didn't want to wake you up back then, so I just carried you to your house."
Camilla's world was shattered; she never wanted to talk to him. She only wanted to ease his mood; she heard what Thanatos I. said to him and wanted to talk to him about it, and then she got carried away, perhaps also like a princess. She cursed herself for not walking up when he carried her.
"Oh, this has already solved itself; you don't need to worry yourself. But I will come with you to Grim School, and I won't say no."
'If these bitches are there too, this is going to go wrong if I don't come with him.' Camilla thought.
Thanatos looked at her clothes, scratched his head, and then turned towards the door.
"Make yourself ready; you can dress however you like. We will meet in two hours. So take your time."
Camilla nodded vigorously, turned, and ran to her closet faster than Thanatos even needed to get out the door.
Camilla rammed around in her closet and pulled out several pieces of clothing.
"These bitches won't charm you and take you away from me like back then. I made a mistake then. That will be corrected now, though."
