Chapter 36 - Memories of the day Luna fell in love with Thanatos

After seeing that Thanatos walked towards Rena's apartment, all of the women sprinted towards her apartment. They had no idea from where he knew where her place was, but they had to be there before him. They took several shortcuts and then, lucky for them, arrived before Thanatos.

When Thanatos arrived only a few minutes later, they thought that he also took a few shortcuts; the only difference was that he only walked on them and did not sprint towards the apartment like them.

Rena too arrived 10 minutes later, pretending as if nothing ever happened. Until 12:30 p.m., they then talked, drank, and ate. Then they parted ways and headed towards their apartments.

Everyone hurried; they wanted to get into bed as fast as possible, lay down, sleep, and then meet again tomorrow.

Aurora and Camilla hurried and wanted to sleep, but like sleep always was, when you wanted to sleep, you needed a long time to fall asleep.

Haruka didn't need long to fall asleep; Rena needed a long time before she could sleep. She thought the whole time about what happened between her and Thanatos today. He was also worried about the fact that her one-year teaching program would run out soon. But this time she wouldn't get out of the academy and then give others the chance to spend one more year with Thanatos. She decided that she would work here for a year as a normal teacher when everyone was done. Quit and then go back to her clan.

Morgana was confused about herself. When she spoke out today, she said that she was very suspicious of Renmaru, but when she talked to the other women about it, she realized what kind of nonsense she was actually saying there. She didn't know why she was so set against him.

It was his brother who turned Haruka and Taro into reapers. She realized what she had done and decided that if she met him one day, she would give him a chance.

Luna, however, could not sleep. She wanted to talk with Thanatos and then sent him a message asking him to meet her. Right now, it was three in the morning, and she was sure that it would bring nothing and that he was already asleep.

But to her surprise, two minutes after she sent the massage, Thanatos replied that he would come. He, too, could not sleep and then got dressed. He picked out a pitch-black suit and walked out. Luna didn't say where to meet; that was, however, not needed; he knew where she would meet him. It was a place where both of them spent much time together and where they met for the first time.

He walked through the schoolyard and then to the stairs to his left. The stairs were easy to overlook, but he found them once. He walked them up and then stood on one of the bridges that connected the main building with a tower on its east side. Thanatos walked over the bridge towards the tower, but not through a door of the tower; he walked on a small path that was brought forward for at least two people to walk beside each other.

There he came to a small path that led to a viewing platform, and on this platform Luna waited for him. Her long hair that hung down her back sparkled in the light of the moon, and her azure blue eyes shined.

Thanatos often described Luna as a fairy of the night. He walked towards her and sat in a comfortable wood chair.

"You really remembered this place." Luna looked at Thanatos, her eyes full of joy and harmony after seeing him right there with her own two eyes.

Luna, how could I ever forget this place? The place where we first met." Thanatos remembered back to the time when he roamed around the academy searching for places he had not seen on the previous day. And on March 12th, he found this place and a girl who hugged her knees while crying.

Thanatos walked to her and asked, "Are you alright?" As he said that, the girl turned around and looked him in the face. He saw how tears flowed down her eyes and landed in her shirt.

Back then, on this day, Luna received the message that her mother was sick and was in a terrible condition. The chances for her to survive weren't more than 20 percent.

Luna told him this: she was at her limit; she had no friends, and her mother would die. If Thanatos told others about this, then she would maybe get pity. But what he did surprised her. He said nothing and sat there while listening to her worries.

Luna remembered her father once saying that there was nothing more disrespectful than showing pity, but right now she wanted someone to pitifully talk to her.

She cursed herself for being this weak and useless when Thanatos said something that changed the way she looked at the world completely.

"You know, I don't think that you are weak and useless; you are far stronger than me. Trust me."

This made no sense to Luna; the one who said that was Thanatos Gravestone II. A genius of his generation The one who inherited the name Thanatos was the one with the highest scores. He now said that he was weak.

"Yeah, I really wish I were as strong as you are. I really wish I had the strength to cry for my problems." Luna saw in this moment a Thanatos that not even her parents ever saw; she saw a Thanatos that had a tear in his eye. But the tear dried and disappeared.

The sight of that and his warm and gentle tone made her tears come back. She leaned on his shoulder and cried. She cried not for herself this time; she cried for both of them.

"Thank you, Luna."

Back in the present, Luna looked at Thanatos and remembered this time: "You are right; there is no way that I could forget this place too. Back then, you confronted me and caught my tears. It was the day I fell in love with you. The day I cried not only for me but for you too"

As she said that, a tear started to flow out. As Thanatos got nearer to her, the tear fell on the ground and shined like a gemstone.

"I really missed his view, Thanatos. I will tell you something now. Will you listen to me?

Thanatos looked deep into her eyes and nodded. Luna filled her mouth and said it.

"Than, I love you." Luna stood there and bathed in the moonlight; her shining hair waved in the wind, and her eyes charmed every cell of Thanatos body. He walked towards her, hugged her, and whispered at her.

"Me too. I love you too, Luna." He hugged her, grabbed her hand, sat on the wooden chair, and placed her in his lab. They looked at the scenery. They looked at the stars.

Luna's pale skin became red as if it were a ripe apple. She looked at the stars together with the men she loved, and Thanatos could only look at the woman he loved.

But as he looked at her, he felt the connection between the other three too. He felt that she was not the only woman he loved. But he loved her as much as anyone else among them and started to incorporate the images of Luna, Aurora, Camilla, and Rena into their wedding dresses.

'I really want to marry these women right now.'

Once they had finished their time together, Thanatos gently scooped her up, cradled her like a princess, and carried her back to her apartment. In that tender moment, he realized the depth of his affection for her, and his anxiety began to dissipate. He allowed himself to be more courageous. However, as he stood before her apartment door, he hesitated to step inside with her.

Their connection was driving him to the brink of madness, and he understood that if he crossed the threshold into her apartment, he might lose control entirely.

Setting her down gently on the floor, he watched as Luna opened the door and took a cautious step forward. She longed to be with him, but the connection between them was still overpowering, fueling her desire for this man. She now understood what it meant when she was told that she would feel emotions and extreme emotional lust far more intensely because of the connection. It was evident that once he entered, he might not emerge, and she might find it difficult to walk the next day.

With a blush as red as a tomato, she bid him goodbye and reclined on the sofa.
