Chereads / My Mate Is a Werewolf / Chapter 22 - 22

Chapter 22 - 22

The strangers grip on me loosens and I fall to the ground with a thud.

"Ow!"

I stand up dusting my skirt and my eyes trail over to the guy laying on the ground unconscious. I take a quick look around the area and find no way of escape.

(Hmm... maybe if I walk the way we came through I'll make it back home.)

My gaze falls on the unconscious stranger and I let out a defeated sigh. Kneeling down beside him, I turn him on his back and reveal a bloody wound. I poke at the wound and a feeling of dread washes over me.

"How did he manage to hold up with such a serious wound?"

I press my hands over the wound and apply pressure trying to stop the bleeding. I look for anything that would serve as a bandage with no luck. Feeling defeated, I tear my skirt and wrap it around the wound.

"It's not much but it should help until I find the necessary items."

I pull him to a sitting position and slowly stand up. I swing his arm around my shoulder and his weight drops over me causing me to bend my knees in order to avoid falling.

(This guy's heavier than he looks.)

With shaky legs, I walk down the path. The stranger's laborer breathing and my panting echoes through the silent forest. We soon emerge at a clearing and I gently lower the stranger's body before falling on my knees. I rub my neck and the rustling of leaves has me on edge. Without thinking, I crawl towards the unconscious body.

"Who's there! Show yourself!"

A lean figure walks through the trees and the moonlight shines on his features and I let out a gasp.

"How is he?"

"What?"

I look from the guy kneeling beside the unconscious guy and back to the place he had been standing seconds ago with wide eyes.

(How did he move so fast? I didn't even see the guy move.)

"Well?"

The guy raises a brow at me and I shake my head clearing my thoughts.

"Oh- he's stable but we need to find a perfect first aid kit so that I can clean and bandage his wound."

He raises a confused brow and his eyes widen with curiosity.

"Um, can we get to a safe place first?"

The guy stands and within seconds, he's mere inches from my face. I let out a surprised yelp and leap back nearly tripping on my own feet.

"How sure am I you're not the one who inflicted this wound on him?"

"Wha-"

"You're a human right?"

"What do you mean? You're not..."

My words trail off once I notice something flicking on the top of his head.

(Are those- dog EARS!?)

Feeling overwhelmed, I take a step back away from him.

"You're ..."

He tilts his head to the side gazing at me with confused eyes and I swallow my fear before speaking.

"What are you?"

My voice comes out shaky than I intended and an amused smirk plays on the guy's lips.

"Oh? You don't know what I am? Are you being arrogant or plain stupid."

(Hold your cool Nine, this guy can move at the speed of light. Better not anger him or he'll kill you.)

Squaring my shoulders, I face him with an unwavering gaze. He meets my gaze with one of his before shrugging.

"Let's go."

Before I can ask any question, he easily tosses the guy over his shoulder and heads down the opposite direction.

"Hey! Wait up!"

I quickly dash after him. Our walk is silent and I take a peek at the handsome stranger. Ignoring the ears flicking on his head, he looks like your ordinary out of the world guy. He catches me staring and he raises a questioning brow. I quickly tear my gaze away from him and focus on the path. Not far, faint lights glow and I turn to the guy.

"Home sweet home."

He increases his speed and I run in order to keep up with him. Upon entry through the gates, I look around the small village marveling at it's simple yet wonderful build.

"This place is nothing like all I've seen."

"No time for sight seeing! Follow me."

I jump at his shout and quickly nod.

(Will it kill him to be a little less moody?)

Together we preceed through the village and into a mansion overlooking the lands. My jaw drops upon sight of the magnificent building.

"This place is huge!"

"Yes well keep up."

He nods to the guards who step aside allowing us entry. As we pass by them, I notice each has a pair of ears and a tail. I tear my gaze away from them and walk after the guys. We walk into a well furnished room where the guy carefully lays him onto the bed. He turns around and points his finger at me.

"You'd better take care of him."

With that he stomps off and I shake my head.

"Why is he so annoying?"

I sigh and walk towards the guy on the bed. Tearing his shirt, I bring my hand to my mouth at the sight. The man groans and his eyes flutter open. I turn to leave but his grip on my arm is firm and he pulls me towards him and I fall onto the bed. Sealed in between the bed and my 'kidnapper', I swallow hard and try to push him.

"Get off me!"

He growls deep through his throat and pins my hands above my head. I let out a gasp as his hands tighten around my wrists.

"You're hurting me-"

I look up to him and that's when I notice something off about him.

(His eyes, they're different. He looks almost wild- like an enraged beast.)

With all my energy, I successfully manage to push him away from me and I run through the door. My footsteps echo through the silent halls as I make my way towards the exit.
