In the dead of night, Remi's figure moved like a shadow through the territory as she reached in front of the Prison, holding the man they were supposed to rescue.
She hid behind a wall and noticed two well-equipped demons coming out of the Prison, talking to each other, as she tried to listen to them.
"There is a warrior who is interfering with the master's plan; if only the master would let me go there, I would kill the pest", the demon punched his hands together.
"No, Axian will take care of it. We must only listen to the masters' orders and keep the man inside alive. Master said that the entire plan will fail if he dies", The other demon said as they both left the Prison, circling around the prison walls.
"Axian, he might be the one Aldrich is looking for, and who are they trying to keep alive" Remi knew she had to be quick so that she could go and help Aldrich.
She hid in the shadows, sneakily entering the Prison.
The Prison was swarming with demons, as everyone from soldiers to criminals had been turned into demons. Remi climbed on the ceiling, using the darkness to her advantage, as she crawled on the ceiling, trying to notice any particular prison cell.
She reached the end of the Prison to notice three demons standing in front of a room, guarding it.
"two of them have the body of a two-star warrior, while the third is a one-star" Remi took out three daggers, smearing them with poison, as she tried to formulate a plan to kill them in one blow.
Remi jumped down the ceiling, landing in front of the three demons, who were startled by her presence.
"Catch her", one of them roared as the three rushed towards Remi.
Remi threw her three daggers, missing the demons, sticking on the door behind them.
"heh", the two-star demon smirked as he jumped towards Remi.
Remi looked towards the demons as her mana control manifested in intricate, glowing threads extending from her fingertips.
With a flick of her fingers, Remi tightened the threads as the daggers stuck on the wall flew towards the demons at an insane speed, instantly killing them.
Only one two-star demon leapt towards Remi, attacking her with its sword.
The sword exuded demonic energy as Remi leapt back, dodging the quick attacks from the demon.
"Die", The demon launched slashes of demonic energy towards Remi. Still, she increased her agility, dodging the slashes, using the thin threads to bind the demon to its spot before slashing its throat, taking its life.
Looking at the dead demons, she lowered her hand as the threads disappeared into nothingness,
"Aldrich was right. The demons cannot showcase the full extent of their abilities, as they took control of this body only a few days ago. If they were given any more time to grow, then.."
She shifted her gaze towards the door and opened it, revealing a horrifying sight.
"What the fuck"
..
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Aldrich wasn't good at sneaking in; he had never learnt to do so, as none of these techniques worked against the super heightened senses of Dragons.
There was one thing Aldrich was really good at,
He kicked the main door of the mansion, walking into it.
"Come out, you dog of Malphas. How low will that bastard of your master stoop to try to control a weak territory."
He was really good at provoking the enemy.
Suddenly, an intense demonic aura rushed towards Aldrich,
"How dare you",
A red demon appeared in front of Aldrich, slashing its huge claws towards Aldrich.
Aldrich stepped back, narrowly avoiding the attack, as he took out both his sword.
"five-finned demon, Malphas must be desperate if he sent you here".
There were a lot of different types of demons that could be found. The primary type of demons were those that took control of a human body. They could utilize the physical prowess of the body they took control of, but they could never grow fins.
Fins were said to determine the strength of the Demons. They ranged from one to ten and could be seen on the demon's body. Ten-finned demons were the weakest, whereas one fin belonged to the Demon kings. But even the same finned demons had varying strengths.
Aldrich was facing a five-finned demon who would be at a reputable rank in the demon army.
"be grateful, for you will meet your end by the mighty Axian", the demon roared as he summoned numerous spheres of demonic mana, directing them towards Aldrich.
Aldrich circulated Light Mana through his sword as he leapt towards the incoming projectiles, slashing them and heading straight for Axian.
"Light mana", the demon evaded Aldrich's strike as he slashed his massive claws at Aldrich, who defended against the attack using his twin swords.
"Noct, come out", Aldrich grunted as Noct landed beside him.
Noct leapt towards the demon, catching him off guard, as tendrils rose from the ground, binding the demon at its place. Noct shot a beam of Dark mana, throwing the demon towards the wall behind.
"Good", Aldrich looked towards Axian, knowing it won't end so quickly.
Axian stood up, shaking the dirt from his body.
"You are good, I will give you that", Axian walked towards Aldrich.
"Where is the count? What is Malphas's true goal?" Aldrich asked, he knew that Malphas wont stop at just turning humans into Demons, he must have a bigger goal in mind.
"Count? That fool was so greedy for power that he let us conduct experiments as long as we provided his territory with our support. Poor subjects of his territory, they didn't even know that their lord sold them away for some demonic powers. We provided his army strength, by filling it with demons, not knowing that every citizen of his territory was turning into a demon", Axian smirked,
"Humans are no worse than demons; their greed and lust for power matches our own. He was already too far gone before he realized what was going on."
Axian walked towards the centre of the mansion, raising his hands wide; as demonic energy started to spread around the mansion, he uttered an incantation as the ceiling of the mansion lit up.
"So watch as the great general of the Malphas army descends, plunging your entire empire into darkness".
Aldrich looked towards the ceiling; his eyes widened with horror and dismay.
Numerous lifeless bodies were hanging down from the ceiling, their blank eyes staring into the void.
