Chapter 31 - Aeon Annihilation

Brent disappeared from his spot as he appeared on top of the demon, landing a mana-infused punch. The demon tried to block the attack with his sword, but Remi leapt from Brent's shadow and launched a flurry of attacks using her dagger.

"Ugh, these puny attacks will not do anything to me", the demon stomped as a wave of energy pushed back Brent and Remi.

The demon leapt towards Remi, who tried to dodge, but the demon was too fast for her as he infused his claws with mana and slashed them at Remi, plunging her into the ground.

Mark appeared behind the demon, launching a barrage of projectiles at point-blank range.

"ARGH! IT HURTS!", The demon coughed blood as he looked towards Mark, his eyes filled with rage.

Demonic energy started to envelop the demon as he appeared before Mark, plunging his claw deep into Mark's body.

"Kugh," Mark coughed a mouthful of blood as he looked towards the demon, revealing a bloody smile.

"What?" the demon threw him away, as he sensed a large amount of Light mana concentrating behind him.

Aldrich was utilizing his mana to boost Lumi's Light mana, creating a torrent of mana surrounding him.

Some moments ago.

"We have to finish it quick; right now, he is weak and injured", Aldrich said, looking towards Mark and Brent.

"None of my spells can kill that demon", Mark said, looking dejected. He had always been the strongest in his group and even the territory, but today he realized what powerlessness felt and what true strength really was.

"My spells can, but you guys won't be able to stop the demon till the spell is completed", Brent said, looking at the three of them.

"I will do it", Aldrich said as everyone looked at him.

"I can utilize Light mana. That will be enough". Aldrich knew light mana was not enough to kill the demon, but he had some skills up his arsenal.

Everyone had already seen the extent of Aldrich's abilities, and knowing they didn't have another option, they went ahead with the plan.

Back to the current time.

The torrent of mana surrounded Aldrich as he took his stance, ready to unleash his skill upon the demon. The light mana was spread evenly within his raw mana, which demanded exquisite control.

The demon rushed towards Aldrich, only to be stopped midway by Brent.

"Not so quick", Brent launched a barrage of kicks and punches towards the demon as he kept teleporting, making it hard for the demon to land a hit on him.

He punched the demon before teleporting above, landed a strong kick, and teleported again as he punched the demon's torso.

This continued, but Brent's raw strength was not enough to defeat a three-finned demon.

The demon quickly caught on, as he predicted Brent's attack, and caught his leg, throwing him away.

The demon rushed towards Aldrich but suddenly found himself on the ceiling of the mansion.

"YOUU", it noticed the culprit, as Brent appeared in front of him, punching his face.

"Who leaked the information" Brent landed a flurry of strikes, but they were all dodged by the demon general.

"heh", the demon smirked as he stomped his feet, causing the ceiling of the mansion to break as the entire mansion started to cave in, causing them to land back on the floor.

Aldrich closed his eyes as he visualized his technique from his past life.

"Hope this body can handle it."

Mana started to violently surge around Aldrich, catching the demon's attention.

The demon rushed towards Aldrich, only to be pushed away by waves of mana.

"How? A mere one-star, you bastard, ruined everything", the demon roared as demonic energy surged around him.

Aldrich suddenly opened his eyes and muttered two words as he slashed his sword.

"Aeon Annihilation"

Suddenly, an enormous mana vortex rushed rapidly towards the demon, as the mansion shaked , the attack completely enveloping his very being.

"NOOOO" the demon screamed, but it was too late;

The demon's form contorted and twisted, its cries of agony echoing throughout the chamber. It struggled against the inexorable force of Aldrich's raw mana control, but there was no escape from the vortex.

the vortex of mana devoured it is very being, reducing the once almighty demon general to mere ashes.

Aldrich noticed his system buzzing with notifications but passed out before hearing them.

A few days later, Aldrich woke up, realizing he was in a carriage.

"Don't get up; your wounds are still not healed properly", Remi calmly said, putting Aldrich's head back on her lap.

He looked around to find Brent sitting opposite him, and Mark was nowhere to be found.

"What happened to Mark?" he asked.

"He decided to move to a different territory, where he will establish his mercenary group again. Your battle against the general inspired him to get stronger", Brent calmly said.

Aldrich closed his eyes, glad Mark didn't lose his life. He knew that Mark and his group would come in handy later, and he would need their assistance.

"What about you? How are you?", He looked at Brent.

"Me? What can happen to this old man? But if I find the mole, he will experience ten times worse than what John had to go through",

Aldrich thought that Remi would fill him up about the story later, about John and what happened inside the prison.

Brent continued,

"I won't ask how you have such considerable strength; every family has its secrets. But you passed your test. You can come to my store for the information." Brent said, ready to leave.

"Oh, young lady, I will repay you for how you helped John. My shadow can teach you some skills if you want; you can drop by my store as well", Brent finished before clapping his hands as he disappeared into thin air, leaving behind a card which contained the address of his store.

"Fill me up about the story later, and let's enter the mansion after my wounds are healed, else Father will create a fuss", Aldrich said as he went back to sleep in Remi's lap.

"You did well, Aldrich; you should rest", she calmly said as she peeked out of the carriage.
