Chapter 31 - THIRTY ONE

With trembling fingers, Snowstorm pushed open the door to reveal a vast chamber adorned by crystals in its ceiling just like the cave paths and other parts of the cave. In the center was the creature itself: a massive creature, the most terrifying of all the creatures of the Blizzardkin clan. It towered several meters above Snowstorm.

It possessed a captivating blend of features, bridging the gap between the animal kingdom, human form, and ghostly beings.

With a bony and muscly frame, it exuded an aura of strength and resilience. Its body, reminiscent of a human's in its proportions, was defined by sinewy muscles that rippled beneath its fur-covered skin.

Its upper limbs were covered in a dense, yellow fur stained with earthy brownness. Its muscles rippled beneath the fur, hinting at the creature's strength and agility.

Its hands were massive corresponding to its colloidal build, each terminating in a set of sharp, curved claws. These claws were extensions of its being, serving as both tools for survival and expressions of its primal nature.

The claws were not merely weapons, but versatile appendages capable of intricate tasks. With careful precision, the creature could delicately manipulate objects, often phasing into fluidity to allow it to maneuver certain objects.

Its most distinctive feature was its bony hollow torso, a spectacle of skeletal architecture.

The creature's torso was a lattice of bones, forming an intricate framework that encased a hollow space.

The hollow space within its torso served a purpose beyond mere aesthetics, offering a safe housing for a soul core that dwelled in it, at the junction between its thorax and abdomen.

Covering this bony structure was a luxuriant coat of fur draped over the bony lattice, serving as insulation against the elements, and providing protection against both cold and heat.

Its abdomen didn't lead to a pelvis and lower extremities like it did in humans but it led to a long tapered end that gave it a ghostly appearance.

This tapered extension, while reminiscent of a tail, served a multifunctional purpose. It served as a means of movement and carried the weight of its body. It also acted as a shock absorber, transferring shock into the air from its lower pointed end. It gave it the ability to phase in and out of fluidity making them have a functional similarity with ghosts.

Its visage was crowned by three pointy brown horns that rose from the two sides of its forehead.

The horns curved, each one tapering to a fine point that seemed to pierce the very air. Below the horns was a curtain of fur cascaded like a waterfall, draping down to its chest to form a long conduit of fur resembling a human male's beard.

One of the most terrifying features of the king of the Blizzardkin clan was its eyes, which were the secret to controlling the creatures under its reign and punishing those who dared oppose it.

The creature was majestic and terrifying, with a massive aura of fear and hysteria that it exuded, making me doubt for a moment that I could invade its mind.

As I thought of invading its mind an intense gush of pain invaded mine and for a second I was lost in an air of confusion.

Then I sensed a shift of point of view. I was then in the mind of the mighty king and watched as Snowstorm fell to the ground never to rise again. All the pain that was procured in the last battle added to the intense heat wave that hurt its soul core was too much for it to handle.

'You were a trustworthy warrior' I thought then got distracted by a floating rectangle that popped up in front.

Achievement: Congratulations! You managed to gain access to the mind of the king of the Blizzardkin clan.

Reward: 10 points to the mental strength

'Okay,' I thought. It was odd that they didn't congratulate me when I invaded the other creature's mind and deep within my mind I had an answer to the wonder.
