When I got home, I went straight to my bedroom to rest. If I'm able to sleep enough, maybe I'll ask Trina and Gail to go to the bar with me later on. But right now, I just need a really good rest, especially after what happened today.
I changed into comfortable clothes and allowed myself to collapse on the bed. My eyes are already shut, but I can't bring myself to sleep. Images of what happened with Maven and Snow keep appearing in my head.
Well, truth be told, they're really a good match. Why not? They're both famous in a good way at school. A varsity team and a cheer captain. It's a damn perfect plot for a novel, and I bet writers would even be inspired to write about them if the time came that they'd take each other seriously. I can already imagine our schoolmates looking at them tenderly like a celebrity couple, while I could probably receive pity stares for being dumped.
I just sighed. Not that I am worried about it, although right now it's a problem with how I should tell my dad and my brothers about it. If they find out that Maven cheated on me, they will go berserk for sure.

I woke up to the sound of knocks and then heard the voice of our maid. She said that it was already seven oclock in the evening. meaning it's time for dinner.
"I'm up!" I yelled when the knocking still continued, then stood up from the bed to fix myself. Dad hates waiting, and despite his extremely busy schedule, he sees to it that we eat as a family every night unless he's not around.
After making sure that I was dressed nicely, I made my way to the dining room, which was just on time because my twin brother had just arrived too. When dad saw me, he smiled and then motioned for me to come closer to him. I did, and I gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"My princess is getting more beautiful as the day goes by," he complimented me. I just pouted at that and then sat in front of Kuya CL, who was looking at me mischievously. I stuck out my tongue at him.
"So, gents, how's your day? GD, CL, have you taken care of everything?" Dad asked seriously to my two elder brothers, who are equally serious as him. They both nodded and proceeded to explain something to dad that I did not bother listening to because just then our maids started to serve the food. The boys stopped talking momentarily, and then, after saying grace, we started eating.
Dad and my brothers continue to talk regarding the business, while it's me and Rennan who are talking.
"Don't bother going to the bar, Arya. Just rest. Trina and Gail should also do the same," he said when I told him about my plan to go to the bar later.
"Why not? It's okay since it's the weekend tomorrow," I countered. He breathed harshly at that.
"Don't be such a wimp. One, for sure our brothers won't allow you. Two, it's Dwayne's birthday and we intend to get drunk, so I don't really like to be your babysitter tonight."
I rolled my eyes. "Who told you to go with me? It's not as if I am going to the same bar where you're going. And why do you want to get drunk when you need to drive afterwards? Are you stupid? If it's just you and your friends, it's okay, but if you'll cause an accident that might hurt other people, then can you call yourself a human being?" I hissed in a low voice, not wanting dad to hear because he might reprimand us.
Rennan rolled his eyes too. "Stop overreacting. We're not driving. Dwayne's driver will pick us up, and we'll stay at their place after."
I just smiled sheepishly at that. It took me a lot not to get a green pea from my plate and throw it at him.
"Anyway, before I forget, how was the game, Princess? Isn't it that you had your first game last time?" CL asked, so my attention was instantly averted to him.
"Yes. As usual, we did not win, but we improved! The team captain of our opponents even hugged me after the game!"
They just smiled at that. I know they are worried about me since it's no secret that the reputation of our volleyball team isn't really good since we haven't won any matches yet, but none of them have managed to stop me. Even my dad back then asked me many times if I really wanted to play volleyball or if I should just go with fencing or martial arts since I also excelled at both, but even he was not able to convince me otherwise.
"How about you and Maven, hija? Everything good?" Dad asked that if I was not able to stop myself, I could've just looked at him and not said anything. But then I smiled. After all, I do not want him to worry about my stupid love life.
"We're okay, dad. Going strong, I guess," I said without looking at him, and I got another fried chicken from the platter so I had a reason not to meet his gaze. Yet when I looked at GD, I knew he wasn't convinced. I could fool anyone, even Dad, but not him.
I furtively tapped the table with my index finger three times and one more time with my pinky. GD nodded at that. He understood that I wanted to talk to him later.
"That's great to hear, my love. Anyway, do you have any plans tonight?" Thank God, dad changed the topic.
"Well, I initially wanted to go to the bar with my friends, but I think I'll just stay in my room tonight."
"Great. How about you, Rennan?" dad then asked my twin brother, who seems to feel relieved that I won't go out tonight. What an arse.
"Dwayne's party later, dad. I'll stay overnight at their place, then I'll go home tomorrow."
"Sure, no problem," dad answered, then looked at all of us and said, "If you don't have anything to say to me and you're done eating, let's all take a rest. It's been a long day."
