"You want me to return my land in return for the things I do for you?" he tilted his head and met her eyes with a hollow look.
No one knew what he was thinking but she could feel the mockery in his voice.
"That land belongs to my family, Damien. You belong to my family. Though you have decided to rebel, I will ignore it. As long as you help me in my mission, I will give you everything you want." ha! A dry laugh escaped his lips but his eyes grew with something darker.
Something that told Camelia that she should trifle with this man. He was holding hatred and a desire for revenge. But… he would die. He had died in her past life.
By helping her, he was saving his life too. Though she could share such details with him.
"Everything you say?" his eyes moved from her eyes to her lips and settled on her breasts and he licked his lips.
An action that left heat rising on her face. Ethan did not know if it was anger or embarrassment but he could not father how a simple deal changed into something erotic.
For a moment he felt like a teenage child who stumbled upon something in a diary and peeked at it out of curiosity only to feel embarrassed.
"Damien!" he warned the man who finally took his gaze away from Lia and looked at his aide with a raised brow. As if he was waiting for Ethan to complete his sentence.
"We can not trust her." The man spoke through gritted teeth. 'And she would trust you. God damn it! Were you not planning to kill her before she entered the room?' Ethan wanted to shout that out loud but he could only glare at his friend, his master, hoping that his brain would start working again before it was too late.
And the girl would leave! A respectable woman would have already left when a stranger licked his lips after staring at her as if she was a piece of meat. Why in the world was this woman still sitting as if she had been glued to that seat?
"Yes, anything." and as if to prove her point, Lia stood up from her seat and walked towards Dami.
The man tore his gaze away from his seething friend and aide and stared back at Lia. The woman had been madly in love with that knight.
Every elder had explained to her how the man was not worth her. How should she marry the second prince or choose Damien? Except for her parents, who would support any decision she made, everyone was opposed to this marriage, and now... It had only been a day and she wanted to ruin her husband?
She could have just refused to marry him. More than that, she could have ordered him to kill that fool and he would have happily obliged. A last favor he had done before killing her too.
But this woman... He could not fathom what exactly she wanted.
Ethan was right, it could be a trap. She could be here to trap him to make a mistake so that she could imprison him. He should refuse and ask her to leave. Better he should leave her here seething with anger. But he stood rooted to his chair until she stood in front of him and held his chin.
She forced him to look into her eyes.
"I am ready to give you, the power you always coveted, the land you always desired, and…" she sat on his lap to the utter shock of Ethan whose jaws hit the ground.
But Lia was not at all affected. She wrapped her arms around Dami and stared deep into his eyes "Is it the pleasure you wanted? I will give it to you too. Do you want to feel proud that you have fucked the daughter of your lord? I will do it for you."
The moment her warm body touched him, his body started to heat. It would be a lie if he would claim that he was not attracted to this woman.
For years had he believed that she might be his bride. They might share a life together and for hours he had imagined what it would feel like to touch her.
When her breaths touched his skin, he shivered. At that moment, he was ready to accept anything she would say. His mind was colluded with desire and heat.
He could feel his heart reaching his throat. The scent of honey and lavender made him crazy and his eyes started to fill with lust.
But the moment, her words started to register in his mind, he paused. He blinked and looked at her face again. Her eyes were hollow.
Though she has always been cold and curt, he had seen her eyes beaming as many stars had twinkled in them. No, even if he brought the stars from the sky, it would not match the light of her eyes but that light had… gone.
And her words were like a cold bucket of water thrown over his face. He came back to his senses instantly.
"I do not need meat. I can have plenty of women in my arms every day. Those who would react and moan when I touch them. Why would I want a dead woman spreading her legs and engulfing me when I feel only nauseating touching her.'' He pushed her away, light enough to make sure that she did not fall.
Ethan finally took a breath he did not know he was holding. His eyes closed and finally, he could feel his body again. For a second, he was afraid that he would witness something that would cost him his life.
"Alright, then property and position it is! For starters, I want you to challenge my husband to a duel. You can use any reason you want, but he should lose from you in front of all the knights."
