Chapter 24 - You Lost!

Mike felt a surge of anger rising to his chest when everyone's gaze settled on him.

It burnt him, raged at him, and insulted him.

"You are doing it intentionally." he blamed Dami who laughed.

Dami's eyes filled with disdain,

"You are giving yourself too much importance. Did you forget who you are because the lady chose you?" his brow raised and a nefarious smile filled his face when Mike paused.

He could endure anything but someone pointing at his origins left a bitter taste in his mouth.

He gritted his teeth.

"Master." his aid came forward as if sensing the darkness seeping from his soul. "He is your senior," whispered Graham slowly.

But it only insinuated the heat in his heart.

"Ha! Is it?" Mike tilted his head. Sure that Dami had gotten his position because of his birth. Not because he was better than Mike.

"Then I want to see it." Graham paused, shocked when Mike took out his sword and hit the ground with force.

"I, Mike Sol Welenshire, challenge Damien for a duel." He made sure to use the name Dami should worship.

Attacking Mike when he was a Welenshire was no less than treason since Dami's family had sworn to serve Welensire all their life.

Everyone gasped. Till now they were staring at them subtly. Trying to hide their gaze but now they were too agitated to pay attention.

Everyone waited for Dami's reply with held breath.

"I will accept it." He took out his own sword and stabbed it on the ground.

The action made the room erupt in loud noises. Many gasped while others cheered. But none of them could take their gaze away from the scene.

Ethan bit his tongue as he saw them going out on the ground.

That woman? What in the world did she want?

Soon, they all were collected in the ground.

Dami and Mike were standing in the center of the training ground.

Mike was glaring at Dami while Dami stood there languidly. He had a bored expression on his face as if Mike was not worth his attention.

He took a yawn when Mike did not attack at once while everyone had already gathered around them.

"You will regret it!" Mike warned but Dami only tilted his head as if asking "If you can only use your mouth or you are going to use your hands?"

Mike gritted his teeth and raised his sword. He attacked straight to the chest of the man but Dami, as if already knowing what Mike aimed for, took a step slowly and dodged the attack.

"Ha!" A dry laugh escaped Mike's lips and he controlled his actions and turned towards Dami.

His grip on the sword tightened and he aimed for the man's gut this time. Dami stood there as if he was frozen only to move an inch at the last moment.

The sword grazed his gut but it did not hit any internal organ.

"Ha! Are you only going to stand there or attack me?" Mike asked with a mocking look on his face.

The crowd was in a frenzy. Most of them have betted on Dami since he was the best. Except Mike's team, who was sure their master would win.

They had felt the pressure of everyone on them but now that Mike had injured Damil while Dami had not attacked even once, they cheered loudly and smirked at others as if they were the one winning.

While many stared at Dami with confusion, not at all understanding what he was thinking.

If he did not want to attack a Welenshire, why did he accept the duel?

But there was no other reason they could think of. It had already been ten minutes and Mike had attacked Dami eight times.

But Dami had only dodged the attacks. He did not raise his sword.

"You are the dog of our family." Mike spat those words with a disgusted look on his face, "you should have stayed on my feet only." he enticed, enjoying the fact that Dami was not going to attack him.

He would show this arrogant man his true place.

He raised the sword again aiming for his heart again but he took out his rapier to attack his gut at the same time.

No matter which attack Dami would dodge, he was going to be injured. His eyes filled with malice as he charged toward Dami with full force.

Ethan held the paper so tightly in his hands unable to understand what Dami was thinking. He was sure the lady had permitted him. Why was he not attacking this scumbag then?

He bit on his fingers again as he looked at the unfolding scene. The rapier was just an inch away from Dami when he backflipped. His actions shook the layer of sand on the ground.

A bit of it flew on Mike's face and his eyes burnt. He wiped the sand, not at all afraid that Dami would attack him at this crucial moment. But he felt a strange force in his hands.

And before he knew it, his swords were gone. He blinked a few times to clear his vision but the sand only burnt further.

He took a step closer to the blurred figure to punch him. So what if he did not have a sword, he could just end the war with his hands.

But his hands touched something sharp and he sucked in a deep breath when he felt the pain and something wet falling off his hands.

This time, he took a step back but surprisingly something struck his feet and he fell to the ground.

Before he could understand what happened, a loud and clear voice filled his ears despite the noise from the crowd,

"You lost Lord Micheal Sol Welenshire."
