Chereads / A Slow And Painful Death To My Husband / Chapter 15 - Win His Trust

Chapter 15 - Win His Trust

Did she leave her at that moment? Even if he wanted to beat himself and ask what in the world was he thinking? Did he go to his room to get a towel and then pounce on a girl?

It just did it make sense. He ran a hand in his hair in frustration and sighed.

"Perhaps I was still in the mood. But you were tired. So... I left the room in case I pounce on you again and earn your ire." He sighed as if he was tired just thinking about it.

"What can I do, Lia? Your presence makes me hungry for more. Even now I want to take you to bed again." he walked closer but she only glared at him.

"Do not even think about it. I am already exhausted. You are not going to climb on my bed for a week." she warned him as she stood up from the vanity table.

"Where would I sleep then?" he complained, his expression darkening when she nodded.

"Good question. Come with me." She wrapped her hands around his arm and leaned on his arm like a woman in love.

His expressions soften instantly. He felt warm feeling her soft supple hands and the love that small actions show.

She took him out of her room and the maids opened the adjacent room. He was surprised to see the room was already arranged to his taste.

Thick drapes were covering the window to block the light. The room was colored olive and dark green, his favorite one.

There was a sitting room and office with a large oak table and office chair, a chest of drawers. Two large chairs on the other side. A large sofa with a large table.

A rocking chair with a small table, a large bookshelf, and a lot of space for keeping his weapons.

They opened another door from inside, The Royal Blue velvet rug covered the whole floor making the room warm despite the cold outside.

The hearth was already lit well keeping the room warm. The walls were painted with small rose flowers that look oddly familiar to the main garden and Rowan's garden in her estate.

The Royal Blue bed was large enough for four people and a Royal Blue velvet drape was tied on its canopy. He could see four doors attached to the room.

"One of them is the balcony, one is the washroom, one is the dining room in case you have company and one is locked." He raised a brow at the last word.

"Locked?" she nodded with a proud face as though she had achieved something.

"Yes, that room is your room. I have locked it for this week. So you can not climb on my bed." the way her eyes filled with a sly look, he laughed.

Was it her illusion or was she behaving cute? He had never seen so many emotions passing through her eyes before. For a second he felt mesmerized. This woman and all these properties belong to him now. How lucky he was!

He could not help but wonder what else she would offer him in their marriage.

"Did you like it?" she asked with a smile when he nodded.

Her room was too different for his taste but this room was made for him only.

"But why do we need two rooms? Should we not share one since we are married?" he tilted his head and asked as the man deeply in love should.

"Yes, but I realized that we both can not keep our hands to ourselves. There will be times when I need to rest, like today.

And since you are part of the family, your responsibility will increase. You will need an office." she added when he nodded at once.

"But your room already has one. That should belong to me now, should it not?" she would have thought he was joking, but she knew from her past life, how serious he was.

He had taken her office and everything that came with it. That time, she only made a separate office for herself thinking he was careless to not understand her emotions. But who would have thought, he was only trying to dominate her?

"I have my work." She cut him off coldly. "You can not expect us to suffer since we have such a large palace. You are not a commoner anymore."

He pressed his lips into a thin line as he felt little. Like a fool who did not understand their vastness properly and the living style of nobles.

The only thing that never ceased to hurt him was his origin. What was so special about being a noble? They did nothing yet they achieved everything easily.

While he... He was working hard since he understood the world. And reached so far with his abilities and hard work. While Lia.. what could she do except look down at others.

He was sure he was better than her in everything. She was a weak woman that needed protection yet she was trying to dominate him. Ha! What a fool.

It was only a matter of time before he would show her who was strong. But now, he softened his expression and pulled her into his embrace.

"I understand your point. But I am just feeling bad that a wall is standing between us when all I want to do is to hold you in my arms all the time." he took a deep sigh of pain when her facial expressions changed.

She felt disgusted by his lousy acting but more than that, she was disgusted by herself. How could she fall for such an act and die once?

"Do not worry, I will give you enough of my attention and time. You will always be in my mind." when I will be planning how to torture you next.'
