Everyone was already downstairs. Liam was once again trying to get something out of the book. Lilith and Mark were watching over Rebecca and Elias. Yua and Max were outside once again and Laz..she was thinking about her dream from last night.
- Sis? Is everything okay?- Liam looked at her.
- I..I had a weird dream last night- she looked at him. Now even Lilith and Mark looked at the two.
- A weird dream? How so?- Lilith asked in a soft tone.
- I saw a..dark angel..they were arguing with God and Satan..then I saw a burning realm..- Laz tried to remember her dream from last night the best she could.
- Darling..do you think she saw...- Mark looked at Lilith.
- Yes..I think she did- Lilith looked at Mark then back at Laz. - the realm you saw was the abyss..it was the home of dark angels but it has been destroyed over six hundred years ago- Lazari looked at them with shock. Six hundred years ago?!
- W-wait what?! Did I see the abyss? How?- Laz looked beyond confused but she didn't get to hear the answer since Max decided to look inside.
- Lazari. Can you come here for a bit?- she heard him call. Laz looked at the rest of the family who nodded..she hated waiting but there was nothing she could do about this.
Once she left the house she felt the warm breeze outside.
- is there something you need?- she asked hesitantly.
- Laz how about you two spar again?- Yua suggested.
- Uh...sure?- Laz picked up a sword from the ground and looked at Max who was already in position. She got into her position while Yua walked to a safe distance. Once Yua was out of the danger zone Max charged at Laz and the two clashed swords. Max was playing more offensive managing to keep the princess at bay who could only parry the attacks and hope for an opening. Once their swords clashed again Laz tried disarming Max but the knight swooped her legs out and made her fall then pointed the edge of the sword to her throat.
- Not bad. Last time you had the element of surprise- he pulled the sword away and extended his hand to help her up.
Laz took his hand and with his help she stood up.
- Are you okay Lazari? I hope dad didn't go too hard on you- Yua walked up to them.
- I'm fine don't worry. I think I was a bit overconfident in my abilities- Laz admitted.
- Nonsense! You did amazing considering that you were the one who had to defend the whole time. You parried most of my attacks- Max stated. He picked Lazari's sword from the ground and handed it back to her. - shall we?- he pointed his sword at her while maintaining a fighting stance.
- heh..- Laz got into a fighting stance while Yua went back into a safer position. - you don't have to go easy on me- after she said that the two charged at each other once again.
The three of them were outside until noon. Once they went back inside Laz saw that Liam was still reading the ancient book.
- Liam? Are you still trying to get something out of that? Most of the writing is ancient and there are things written in the language of dark angels in it. Not to mention that we still need the other half- Yua said as soon as she walked into the living room where Liam was.
- HOLY MOTHER OF SATAN WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?!- Liam jumped out of his seat knocking over the chair in the process. Laz and Yua immediately laughed at him seeing him scared for a second. - It's not funny sis!- He said as his face became red from embarrassment.
- Sorry sorry I-I just can't- Laz laughed.
- Girls quit laughing at him!- Max said from the kitchen.
- Sorry Dad!- Yua responded.
After a few seconds of Liam putting the chair back and sitting back down Laz sat right next to him.
- So..did you get anything out of the book?- she asked.
- Nope..nothing new. There is this text that I can't really read. I found it using your method. Since there are hidden messages here and you revealed one using angel magic..i thought why not try and use demon magic too?- Liam turned to page 68. There was a text..it looked as if it was written in windings.
- what in the two realms?- Yua said in confusion. - are those windings?- she looked closer at the text. Laz also looked at the writing.
- Wait..you guys can't read that?- she asked confused making the two demons stare at her.
-...YOU CAN READ THAT?!- Liam asked and seemingly started questioning his entire existence.
- Laz that text is ancient. How are you able to read it?- Yua looked at the princess in complete shock.
- I had a few books that had ancient text in them when I lived in the castle. I took classes with Elizabeth to be able to learn how to read them- Lazari stated calmly. She looked at the text to try and understand its meaning.
- Sooo?- Liam leaned closer to the book.
- What does it say?- Yua asked as she sat down in front of Laz.
- it's actually a pretty short sentence. "Fall into the abyss and see the truth." That's all.- The princess looked at the two demons who were still processing that she can read that this easily.
- Fall into the abyss?..but..the abyss was destroyed six hundred years ago- Yua looked clearly confused.
- I think we need to get the other book as soon as possible- Liam stated.
- agreed. The sooner we get the book the sooner we can solve this..- Laz leaned back in the chair.
- Actually..you never told us why you went out of your way not only to save Liam but to take this book- Yua looked at Lazari.
- I never questioned it since it seemed rude...plus I knew that I should be grateful since you saved me..but I still don't understand why?- Liam looked at Laz waiting for answers.
- I..- Lazari hesitated. - I did all that because I want to find out why am I so different from the rest. From both the angels and the demons- she answered honestly. She didn't say anything about it since she was afraid of what the others might think of her if they would know her reasons.
- Oh...I..give me a moment to process this- Yua stood up and walked into the kitchen where Max was.
- I also need a moment- Liam went up the stairs straight into his room only leaving the sound of the door closing behind him once he was up.
Laz stood up and went outside. Feeling the warm air around her calmed her thoughts.
- Maybe this was a bad idea- she leaned against the side of the house. She closed her eyes and sensed every energy around her..some felt warm and some just straight up felt cold as ice..but there was one that stood out for her..one that felt as if it was calling for her. She pushed herself away from the wall and walked in the direction of the feeling..it was a dark energy..whit an even darker aura. As she followed the feeling she ended up at the barrier once again..and the dark energy was calling her down..telling her to jump..even tho there was one platform in the middle besides that there was only an endless void..she took one more step closer to the edge..
- Lazari!- she felt someone grabbing her hand and pulling her back. She looked behind her..it was Yua. - have you gone mad?! You almost jumped down!- the girl yelled at her as Lazari's head finally cleared.
- I..what..what was that?..- she took one look to the edge where she was standing just a moment ago..she would've fallen if it wasn't for Yua.
- You were in some kind of a trance..I saw you waking away from the house..you are lucky that i followed you. What were you doing here anyway?- Yua asked as she pulled Laz away from the edge.
- i...I followed the trail of energy..it was dark..and wherever or whoever it came from had a very dark aura..I..it called to me..it told me to go closer..to jump- Laz looked shaken up by what happened..Yua went to her side and walked back home with her..leaving the barrier behind..but Lazari heard one last thing before they left..an unknown voice.."the storm is coming" As soon as Laz heard that she turned her head back but no one was there..no one was behind them.
Once the two girls got back it was already late in the night..Laz went up to her room to change her clothes..that was until she heard a voice in her head.
- You got tempted didn't you?- the voice was no one else but Leila..even tho Laz was still questioning how can she talk to a dead princess she wasn't surprised.
- Yes..yes I did. It won't happen again.- she changed into some pajamas and laid down in the bed. - now..will you let me sleep princess?- she asked since she was tired.
- Of course. Good night- with that Leila's voice became faint..and Laz fell asleep.
