- Holy metal? I never thought I would hear about that material ever again- Mark said.
- Neither did I Dad! But Ren said that Lazari's katana is made out of Holy metal and I believe her!- Liam told his father sounding proud for some reason.
- speaking of Lazari..where is she?- Lilith asked. The whole family was in the kitchen except for Lazari.
- I am here Mom.- Laz said from the top of the stairs. - I will be down there in a second!- with that said the princess went into her room. The second she looked into the mirror she saw Leila looking back at her.
- So...you met up with Ren I heard- Leila said the second Laz and her made eye contact.
- Yep. She is an interesting person- Laz smiled and sat down right in front of the mirror.
-...Lazari. Quit the act- Leila said in a more serious tone.
- Huh? What do you mean?- Laz asked sounding confused.
- Quit acting like you are okay. That's what I mean- Leila answered looking the princess in the eyes. - I can see it in your eyes. I saw it yesterday too when you had to dye your hair. You are not okay.- The demon princess looked at Lazari who sat there stunned for a bit before letting her smile fade.
- It's..that noticeable huh?..- Laz let out a low chuckle.
- For me very much so. Now go on..what's bothering you so much?- Leila looked Laz in the eyes.
- I am just..afraid. What if I won't like the answers I will find?..what if all of this wasn't worth it?- Laz finally opened up. Leila remained silent letting the princess speak. - I..I hated dying my hair yesterday since it reminded me of what happened in heaven. The looks everyone have on me while I was walking into the kingdom..they all saw me as YOU. The same thing happened in heaven. They all looked at me as if I was Angelica. But..but I am not you..and I am not her either..I am just..Lazari. A girl who doesn't even know where she belongs..- Laz finally felt like she could talk to someone about all the conflicting feelings she had.
- "a girl who doesn't know where she belongs"..I heard that before- Leila chuckled,
- You did?- Laz looked at the demon in surprise.
- Yeah. Angelica felt the same way. She didn't know if she actually belonged in heaven or if she belonged somewhere else since her heart told her to be with me. I had the same..conflicted thoughts. Sometimes I didn't know if I really belonged in hell but in the end I understood one thing which I hope you will too. We belong where our heart pulls us. As long as you feel good and welcome in a place let it be heaven or hell..you can be sure that you will find your way- Leila said with a smile on her face. To think that even she and Angelica felt the same struggle that Laz did..it felt unreal.
- ...will Zach hurt them?- Lazari asked out of nowhere.
- huh?- Leila looked at the princess.
- Will Zach hurt Lilith and her family just because they are helping me?- Laz asked. Her tone was more serious than before.
-...he might.- Leila answered.
- You know him better than me. He worked when you were still..alive.- Laz said trying not to sound insensitive.
- He is still as ruthless and cold as ever. Trust me he is willing to do ANYTHING to achieve what he wants. That's why my father gave him the title of executioner.- Leila spoke about Zach with an incredible amount of hate. She hated him..but to be honest who wouldn't.
- Lazari!- Lilith's voice stopped the conversation.
- C-coming mom!- Laz answered. She looked into the mirror and saw how Leila disappeared. Lazari stood up and grabbed her katana then walked down the stairs and sat down at the table next to Liam.
- Everything alright sis? You took your time up there.- Liam looked at her with a worried expression.
- Yeah everything is fine! I just forgot where I put my katana.- Laz smiled somehow lying came easy for her.
- May I see your katana darling? Holy metal is a material that is hard to come by- Max looked at her his voice being soft as he asked for permission.
- Sure Dad. Here- Laz put her katana on the table and Mad took it almost immediately and started examining it.
- Big sissy! Come and play with us!- Rebecca said as she looked at Laz from the living room. The princess chuckled and looked at Lilith.
- Rebecca dear Lazari can't come right now. Play with your brother alright?- Their mother said in a sweet voice as Rebecca nodded and played with her younger brother.
- Laz did you find out anything about the book? Has Leila talked to you lately?- Liam looked at her.
- She did..but I got no info about the book besides the fact that we have to find it as soon as we can- Lazari let out a sigh and looked at her brother.
As the family talked in the kitchen the door opened and Yua walked in. Laz greeted her with a smile.
- Yua you are back! Did your dad manage to talk to the guards as planned?- Liam looked at the girl.
- Sadly no we- Yua was about to answer only for Max to walk in behind her. He had a large cut on his shoulder. Laz stood up and rushed over to him.
- I'm fine princess..don't worry- Max tried to act tough but Lazari knew how serious a wound like that is.
- Yeah sure you are. Sit down- Max went over to the table and sat down. Laz hovered her hand over the wound and started mumbling a healing spell. She had to concentrate since the wound was deep.
- Max what happened?- Lilith asked in a worried tone.
- Zach. He was on patrol and he saw me..- Max's voice was as strong as ever. That was a good sign. Laz continued healing him but she felt herself growing weaker. She pulled her hand away before she overused her magic.
- That's..the best I could do- The princess's breathing was heavy as she looked at the wound. It was almost fully healed. Liam stood up and went over to Lazari helping her stand since he saw how her legs were trembling.
- Laz don't push yourself- Lilith looked at Lazari worriedly and stood up letting her sit down.
- Thank you for healing me princess- Max said with a lot of gratitude in his voice.
- We have to be more careful. We can't rely on her healing us if she gets weakened like this by it.- Yua said as she looked at Lazari and held her hand from across the table. Laz blushed slightly but didn't say anything.
- Agreed. If it weakens her like this then we shouldn't rely on it too much- Liam said as he looked at the two girls.
Rebecca came into the room and looked at her mother.
- Is big sissy okay?- She asked.
- Yeah she is alright. Just tired..right dear?- Lilith looked at Lazari who nodded. The princess managed to get her breathing under control but the healing still took a toll on her. Every spell has its price..one greater than the other. That was something both demons and angels knew..and that was something Laz had to realize. She knew that she can't save everyone..but there was no way she wouldn't try. Even tho no one knew what she is fully capable of..Laz understood one thing. Today was nothing but a new beginning.
