Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

After Dian became the disciple of Tian Bai, the vast majority of the capable people of the village arrived in the village entrance, most of them bared witness for the first time to the great power of Martial Arts.

Among them were Luo's father, and two older brothers, they were slack jawed from shock.

They knew that Luo has been training his body for the last two years or so out of nowhere, his physique was way better than before, but that didn't explain this great strength he suddenly had.

They ran towards Dian hurriedly, his brothers erupted immediately

"Luo! since when were you so strong?!" said Meng, Luo's oldest brother.

"Yeah! and this guy next to you is even stronger! he killed that gigantic wolf in a single move! he must be a legendary immortal!" added Liu, Luo's second brother.

"Luo, are you okay? quickly, let's go to old man's Jing infirmary" said Luo's father, Jay, worriedly.

"I'm fine, I'm fine" said Dian, "I'm sorry for not letting you guys know about my strength" he added.

"Don't worry about that Luo, as long as you're fine then it's okay, but I still insist we go to the infirmary, better sure than sorry" said Jay.

"Ha Ha Ha, don't worry about that sir, I'm not going to let my only disciple be harmed, here young Luo, eat this, it'll heal your shattered ribs in less than three short days, don't waste its medicinal properties" Tian Bai interrupted and handed Dian a round rough looking pill.

'Even I, an elder of a great sect, don't have many of those pills, but this is a small price to win-over the father of a great prospect". He thought to himself.

"Thank you very much, master" said Dian before ingesting the pill, he quickly began noticing a feeling of warmth flow through his chest area before filling his entire body and slowly healing his broken ribs, initiating the regrowth of his shattered bones and keeping them together.

"What's going on Luo, how do you know this great warrior?" said Jay with a voice filled with admiration and suspicion, because even though he saw Tian Bai's great strength, he didn't believe that he would heal his kid without any hidden motives.

"Dad, this is...", Dian quickly explained to him how Tian Bai saved him and then took him as a disciple because he saw that he had great potential in Martial Arts.

Jay wasn't a fool, he understood that now that Luo accepted him as a master, Tian Bai will take him back to his sect with him, and he will become one of the legendary Martial Artists.

He was happy for his son, ever since he adopted him many years ago, he was worried about his future because of his closed off personality.

Suddenly, in the last year or two, Luo became a much more social person, and now, suddenly, he showcased strength surpassing the normal, and caught the attention of a strong Martial Artist.

this made him happy, but it also saddened him, because he knew that once he left the village, he might never come back.

After the whole situation was done, Tian Bai said "Young Luo, the guys from the sect are waiting for me in the forest, we should get going now, go say your goodbyes and then return here, we'll depart soon."

"Alright, I'll be back soon"

Dian said his goodbyes to his family quickly, he knew that because of the type of person he is, he could never truly live comfortably while being average, and even though Dian developed some connections to them, a short two years wasn't much. Dian knew that he didn't truly have any deep feelings of connection to them, he was just very appreciative of them, because he missed his previous, original family.

Soon, he arrived in the village entrance once again.

He quickly departed together with his new master.

'This is my only second chance at life, I cannot let it go to waste'

'Absolute strength is what I need to ensure that I live a long life, and I'm not planning on dying'.

even though Dian may seem to be contradicting his previous ideals of living a regular life at the farm with his new family.

That is because he isn't a one dimensional, shallow person.

He has layers to him. And ever since the death of his original father, on Garia, he had become slightly obsessed with increasing his strength.

when he arrived in this new world for the first time, he truly believed that this world didn't have any extraordinary beings or beasts, as according to Luo's simple memories, any mentions of things of extraordinary nature are made only in rumours and legends.

The original Luo didn't care for stuff like martial arts and beasts, he only focused on farming, and because of his closed off personality, no one ever mentioned the many sects and kingdoms of the world to him.

Add to that the fact the Dian just lost connection with his mother and sister, he believed that he had no reason to become a hunter again.

But once Dian discovered that martial artists and beasts existed in this world too, he also rediscovered the feeling of joy that strength gives him, and the feeling of safety that he loses once he doesn't have enough strength. The fragility of the average person is immense in the face of the strong.

In a world where the strong decide the lives and deaths of the weak.

In a universe where power is the ultimate decider of the fate of every single being.

Dian will become the strongest.

Or die trying.
