Chapter 4 - Day. 4. Cafe and Canteen.

''Isn't she home?''

''She had a call from her work, said will be back soon...'', Aiza's ma said.

Just then Aiza entered with juice and snacks and they all sat down to eat.

''Here she comes''.

While they were eating aunt asked, ''So Aiza what are you doing now?''.

''I'm doing a diploma in paramedics and working as its assistant in City hospital''.

''Wow working and studying that looks hard!".

"Not much since what we are further learning is all about what we do as medical specialists and assistants. It somehow works out".

"What exactly do you do as such?". her aunt questioned.

"We are like emergency docs. We learn all about first aid and stuff about the things to be done before actual treatments...''.she explained.

''That's quite a tolerance job!". They kept talking about their work and Aiza got a call.

''Sorry, Excuse me''. After receiving the call Aiza suddenly grabbed the keys and coat and walked out of her room.

''Hey! Where are you going so late?'', her ma asked.

''I'm sorry ma. My colleague called me to discuss tomorrow's work shifts, so I'm sorry, I'll return early'', saying she rushed out.

''AT LEAST FINISH YOUR FOOD!'', her ma shouted.

It was late night when Aiza returned. Her aunt had left. She slowly entered the house and not trying to wake her ma, she kept her keys and as she set foot in her room the lights turned on.

''Ma?'', she turned to see her mother standing, her arms folded near her chest.

''Aiza! What's the time and it's not good manners to leave the food like that and your aunt, she left waiting for you...'', she began lecturing.

''Sorry! I didn't mean but it was an urgent meeting. There won't be next time okay? Now let's sleep?''.

The next day, when Aiza was on her way to City hospital, she sees her aunt with her children aside the road out of their car.

''Morning aunt, is something the matter?''.

Humera was relieved to see Aiza and explained that her car tyre was punctured on the way.

''Don't worry aunt. There's a mechanic shop right across the main road in the front. I'll send someone here and drop off the kids at their school. Would you like to be dropped at your school?''

''No dear, I'll leave after meeting the mechanic. Please do drop the kids over, thanks''. And with this, they did as said.

Afternoon, after his Uni, Omu went to the nearby cafe shop with his friends.

He took the window seat. When he was sitting and drinking his coffee, he noticed a young woman. The canteen across the cafe was visible. She was in hospital clothes, looking through her phone while using a paper cup.

He was stuck by her view. Her seriousness while looking through her phone, her laughter and her smile while talking with her colleagues. She looked different from the time he met her.

''Hey Omu are you listening?", his friends asked and he nodded. When he glanced back at her, she was gone. Since then he kept visiting the cafe, taking the same seat, he would look at her. She would be present and sometimes not.

One day when he visited the books store, he met Aiza.

''Hii, Omu right? How are you and your studies going? Have you adjusted to the new place?".

"...Yes...um....Bye". He borrowed the books and went away. Aiza didn't understand what was wrong so she just left it.

Again after finishing his Uni tests, he went to the cafe. She was sitting like usual. Then a girl and a boy came and sat near her. They seemed to know her. They talked among themselves. That boy sitting close to her made Omu glare at him. The two were forcing her something. She turned towards his direction, and after a deep stare, she turned her head. Their eyes seemed to have met but she not recognising him made his heart fall. With a thought in his mind, he walked away.

He focused on his studies that day later but that day kept disturbing him.
