I opened my eyes slowly and looked around to take in my new environment. I slowly turned around, letting my jaw drop in surprise and amazement as I took in my surroundings. Beautiful stones more premature than the ones I saw earlier in the old man's house. And it was at this point it occurred to me I didn't get his name.
"Madison, are you seeing this? Isn't this place surreal?" I questioned and at the same time let out a chuckle. When no response came, I turned around to find no Madison.
"Madison?" I called but no response came. Where did she go? I wondered. I could swear I held her hand all through the intense ride from the portal. Why has she gone? Where did she go? Did it take us to a different place? Is she alright? The questions came rushing in my mind and a look of worry set in.
"Hello Aurora." I turned quickly at the voice even though it wasn't Madison's just to meet a short beautiful slender man. Maybe he has muscles under his garments, but with what my eyes were fixated on, he was skinny. Beautiful short man.
"Have you seen a girl? She's about this tall with blonde hair with humongous eyes. She has hips…"
"Are you talking about your friend, Madison?" He interrupted me with a question and I froze. How did he know that? I wondered.
"Well, yes." I recollect myself. "Have you seen her?"
"She is fine, and resting. Now, let me introduce myself. I am…"
"Why do your shoes have wings?" I interrupted him
"Because my feet bore them."
"Is this some kind of party? Did I crash a party? I'm sorry I didn't come with costumes…"
"Follow me" He spoke up.
And I frown, not liking the fact he always interrupts me.
"Did you not hear me?" I questioned stopping him from walking any further.
"We must hurry because there isn't much time. You don't want to keep a god waiting now do you?" His abrupt response came.
I scoffed in disbelief.
"So is this what this is? Is this a theme party? Is the theme about Greek mythology or is it 'A night at Olympus'?" I say jokingly. "Should have said so… I don't know much about them… you know gods, but Madison would… She'd know a thing or two about them. So what are you dressed as? I'll take a guess. You are dressed as Hermes, the god of speed or was it the god of wit? Given the flying shoes and suit garment."
"You humans lack imagination," the man said, sounding offended.
And again, humans? He talked like he was not one. He looked very much like every other man. Just prettier.
"I'm just kidding." I spoke after I noticed his expression. "I mean you probably can't be a god, they are supposed to be intimidating and old." I let out. I sort of hoped what I said would make him feel better, but it simply enraged him even more.
He frowned, looking up to the sky and groaning "Why are humans so difficult?!" he turned to me and huffed. "Follow me, I won't say it again."
"If you cannot explain to me why on earth I'd be going with you someplace, then there's no way in hell that I'd be going with you."
That made him halt in his steps.
"On earth? No, you might want to change that…" He chuckles deeply. Who knew he heard a deep voice like that in him.
He continued.. "And in hell, there's every way, because you're here and you do as I say. As the master ordains it."
