He stared at me intently as if expecting me to cower in fear and follow him. But I only cracked up in mockery.
"Are you crazy or on something? That must be it… Anywa as much as I like the chit chat with you about gods and what not, I have to go find my friend.."
"How are you going to meet her when you keep interrupting me?"
"Well you started it, you should have started with that and I would have tagged along with no questions. But if you are lying to me.. I can't promise your safety." I tell him and show him a way I'd strangle him with my hands. It was a joke but the facial expression he wore in his face, told me he didn't take that as one. I slowly dropped my hand.
Does he know about my gloves? Is that why he seemed scared? I wondered.
The man turned and started to make his way to an unknown destination, without insisting I follow him. And without being told, I followed.
The more we walked the more the gemstones sparkled. I stopped looking forward as I walked and was now staring keenly at the gems. I wonder if it could go any brighter that it already was. The whole room would definitely turn white… And blinding. But the gemstones only shone throughout the place, adorning the black walls. I know for a fact there's no place on earth that has gem stones that glitter as much as these ones do. I have only seen things similar to this while watching Disney shows, or cartoons. But these looked so surreal… Too real.
"Why do they glitter?" I questioned the man that was walking ahead. But he only grunts and murmurs a response.
"Seems hell also acknowledges her presence." I heard him murmured.
Well, the man seemed to have an attitude or he just didn't like me or appreciate my presence. I mean I would act the same if I were in his shoes, but he knows about me and he has Madison or at least, knows where she is currently. So I had to follow him. I wasn't about to break my promise to protect her till the very end.
The man that was walking ahead suddenly stops walking when he comes to stand in front of a door.
"I must warn you." He starts saying without looking at me. "The king of hell doesn't tolerate disobedience. He is very keen on punishing people and he never goes back on his word. You should know that by now after encountering one of his minions before being brought here. He has a single expression he uses in every situation, None. You've been warned."
He said and with that he proceeded with his walk to open the door to go in. I stayed quiet because I didn't want to get on his nerves by interrupting him yet again. But I had questions. I couldn't process all he had said and I thought it was best to let him answer my questions… unspoken questions instead of giving me instructions and expecting me to adhere to them.
"The fuck are you talking about now?! Hey! I'm talking to you!!" I yelled as he stood there muttering some words, his hands placed on the door knobs.
I hated getting ignored. And he was doing exactly that and made me look stupid. It got me really pissed. But that didn't matter, I just wanted to find Madison and get the fuck out of here and he was going to show me how.
"What are you talking about?" I continued not seeming to understand the whole thing. That's not what you told me- that's not what we talked about. You said you'd show me to my friend first. I need to see her! I am talking to you!" I yelled after him as soon as he walked into the door. I ran after him still yelling, visibly pissed.
"I don't give a damn about your boss' rules or his stupid face! Take me to my friend!" I yelled in frustration hoping he would succumb to taking me to Madison. I opened my eyes after yelling the words in anger just to find the place empty. It was some sort of room. I wasn't sure if I should call it that. The place looked too huge to qualify as a room. There was a black throne sitting just further away from where I stood. I spotted the man I had trailed here now bowing to someone. I squint my eyes more and noticed a man, who's back was facing the man bowing, and it made me wonder who it could be. What kind of sick game was this.
"All Hail the king of the underworld, Hades!" another man who I hadn't noticed till now, shouted and the room echoed with "Hail, Hades!" it was at this point the weird creatures and human looking animals became visible.
What sort of sick game is this? I wondered not liking that this was looking real.
"Ugly?... Me?" The man who had his back turned suddenly spoke. His voice sends shivers down my spine(in a good way) and I stop myself from moaning in pleasure, just by hearing his voice.
The man slowly started to turn, at first it was his black hair that became visible and then his eyes… I stopped noticing when he was now facing me completely.
He was the most beautiful man I had ever laid eyes on.
As he slowly takes slow steps to where I was, fire sprouts out from the ground, from both side, enimating some sort of carpet to where I stood. My lips parted with shock. He is truly what they claim he is. HADES.
I opened my mouth to say something but only a shaky breath left my lips. Sure I knew I had a sad life, the worse actually. But did fate really have to pair me… With HADES?!
Standing before me was the god of death and the underworld. Every picture I had seen of the gods had not depicted Hades' beauty. The god standing before me was not an old man with a white beard that reached his foot, he was the true definition of glamor.
"Well, you beat my expectations. I expected a slim figured sad looking child." Hades spoke, his voice sending tingles down my spine… Again.
"And I expected an old man with a wonky tooth holding a stick to support his remaining lifeline. And I called you stupid looking, not ugly but I guess that works too."
Hades opened his mouth to say something about my outburst, while I mentally faced palmed herself wishing I hadn't said that to the god of death… Someone who literally made fire spout out from the ground a while ago.
I stared at him expecting him to cast me into the darkest hell cell as punishment, but his lips only pulled up a grin.
"Well, well… I guess I had expected little from my human mate."
Wait… did he just say mate?!
