Chereads / HER SON / Chapter 16 - 16. FAMILY DISCUSSION

Chapter 16 - 16. FAMILY DISCUSSION

The following morning, everyone had already prepared to leave for the 'Blue Moon Pack.'

The awaited day had finally arrived and they were all excited but some issues had to be addressed.

Valeria sat in the family living room with Everand, his parents, Beta Connery and Gamma Radolf as they conversed within themselves.

"They made a mistake and it won't repeat itself again." Connery defended Reginald.

"But that mistake cost Amelia's position as his gamma. What will she do now?" Radolf was still displeased that his daughter was going to lose her position all because of the relationship she had with Alpha Reginald.

"There are other positions to fill in Radolf." Rehab suggested. She didn't want her grandchildren to hate each other or fight over a girl.

"What positions? All the other positions still concern Reginald so what's the use in stopping her from still being his gamma?" Everand asked as he supported Radolf.

Connery sighed and shifted his gaze to Valeria who had been listening to them all along.

"What do you suggest Luna?"

Silence reigned as all eyes went to Valeria, waiting for her to speak.

Her gaze was focused on Connery as she took her time to give an answer.

"There is no need to strip Amelia off her position just because of feelings. That reason isn't strong enough and Reginald will do no such thing to Amelia…she will continue to be his gamma for as long as she lives." Valeria declared, leaving no room for discussion.

Radolf felt relieved but Rehab had a grim look.

"Reginald ought to be here too." Japheth finally spoke as his eyes went to the gold colored double doors with expectancy.

"He won't be coming." Connery informed them.

"Why?" Rehab asked with a stern look.

Connery sighed as he massaged his temple before giving a response.

"He left last night with my son for the Blue Moon Pack."

Silence fell as Radolf bit his lower lip in thoughtfulness.

Everand didn't seem surprised while Valeria had a tranquil look as if she knew.

Japheth stared at his wife Rehab before staring at Connery.

"Where is Amelia by the way?" Rehab inquired.

"With Aaron," came Everand's answer.

"Does she know he left?" Rehab asked.

"She doesn't." Radolf answered.

"We'll discuss that later, for now, we have to talk about the pack…someone has to stay back and keep watch over the place on behalf of the Alph…"

Someone suddenly opened the double doors and entered the room with a look of worry.

"Have any of you seen Angelina?"

All eyes went to Desmond as they frowned.

"No, not at all." Radolf responded and Desmond's worries increased.

"What's wrong Desmond?" Everand asked as his mood darkened because he was there when she was unconscious yesterday and had an abnormal mark.

Desmond's eyes shifted to Everand and he told them what disturbed him.

"Angelina is nowhere to be found."

"Are you sure about that?" Connery asked as his mood changed.

"If I wasn't sure then I wouldn't be here." Desmond stated.

And for the first time in a long while, Valeria had a lost look.

One of the reasons why Desmond had come to announce about Angelina's disappearance was so that Valeria could easily tell him where she was since she knew a lot of things ahead of time.

"She's a grown woman, Desmond. Maybe she left the pack to get something. You of all people should know how mysterious she can be sometimes." Radolf brushed it off but Desmond didn't want to give up on searching for her until he knew she was alright.

What happened to her yesterday had bothered him.

"I think I'll stay back and wait for her to return." He declared as he strolled in and sat on one of the plush chairs.

"How about you stay behind and watch over the pack Desmond." Connery proposed with hopes that Desmond would agree.

Desmond gave it a thought as he narrowed his eyes at Connery before shrugging his shoulders as if it wasn't a problem.

"I don't mind staying back, after all it's just for a day before you guys return."

Another reason why he also chose to stay back was because he knew Angelina wouldn't want to go once she returned from wherever she went to.

"Good, at least that is settled." Connery felt relieved and his mood brightened.

And as they discussed other things, that was the time Amelia and Aaron entered the room looking bright and full of spirit.

"Oh Amelia, you look so happy this morning." Rehab pointed with her words and Japheth understood what she meant.

Aaron grinned widely at them as he guided Amelia in so she could sit down.

"Good day everyone," Amelia greeted and smiled as she sat on the seat Aaron offered.

Valeria's heart warmed as she watched how happy her son was and it was then it occurred to her that they marked each other but the mark was not yet visible.

"Good day to you too, dear." Rehab greeted back and so did Japheth.

Desmond had an evil smile as he watched Amelia and as if noticing his gaze on her, she turned to stare at him and gave him a mischievous look because she had found his little secret.

Aaron sat beside her and wrapped his right arm around her waist in a possessive manner.

"Since you both are here now, I'd like to inform you that you will no longer be stripped of your position Amelia." Connery announced and she stared at him in surprise before her mood brightened further at the news.

Aaron wasn't too pleased about the news and Amelia sensed it immediately. She faced him and he looked at her as they spoke through their minds.

Everand smiled when he saw the bond they had and so did Valeria.

"Make sure the other witches are on duty Desmond and when you see Angelina, please advise her to stop being mysterious about her whereabouts." Connery spoke only for Desmond's ears alone.

"Don't worry too much about the pack, beta Connery. Just go and enjoy yourself."

Desmond assured Connery and gave him a pat on the shoulder. It wasn't the first time for Connery to leave the pack in Desmond's care, that was why no one objected.

"Where is Alpha Reginald and Spencer?" Amelia consciously began to put the 'Alpha' before his name and they took note of it.

"They left the pack last night for the blue moon pack." Radolf told her and she frowned.

The double doors opened again and Phoebe stepped into the room with Sonia.

"Kareen just called, she can't wait to see all of you, especially Valeria and Aaron." Phoebe informed them and Valeria's smile stretched.

Kareen was a sibling to both Everand and Phoebe and she was the second.

"How very thoughtful of her." Rehab said cheerfully and Japheth agreed with his wife, they couldn't wait to see their beloved daughter.

Sonia walked up to her mate's side and pecked him on the cheek before whispering something in his ear.

Desmond watched in silence as Connery listened with rapt attention to what his mate had to say.

Amelia watched Desmond as he stared at Connery and Sonia as if he wanted that too.

"That's Desmond right?" Aaron leaned in and asked her.

Last night he recalled her saying something about catching someone red-handed.

She faced him and nodded with a smile on her lips.

"How are you both doing?"

Phoebe spoke from behind them and Aaron turned his head to stare at her before responding.

"We're doing quite well."

"Good to know!" Phoebe exclaimed happily and gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder before going to meet her soulmate who sat close to Connery but on a different chair.

She sat on the armrest of his chair and rubbed his back while his right arm went round her waist as he smiled lovingly at her.

"I thought you checked up on Angelina last night?" He asked her and her brows lifted when it occurred to her that she had announced that she was going to see how Angelina was doing.

"You should've reminded me Rad, you know my mind was disturbed by Amelia's relationship with Reginald…" she said in a low voice and he nodded in understanding before saying…

"Seems like she left the pack last night."

Valeria had a worried look as she listened to Phoebe and Radolf.

Something didn't feel right about Angelina's sudden disappearance and it bothered Valeria greatly.

"She'll be fine." Everand assured her as he placed his hand over hers in a comforting manner.
