"Amelia…Amelia!"
Phoebe called after her daughter but Amelia refused to answer, rather she increased her pace so they wouldn't bombard her with their questions.
"Amelia, don't you think we need an explanation?" Radolf tried to get her attention so he spoke calmly.
"I want to be alone!" She yelled her answer but Phoebe caught up to her and held her by her shoulders so she could face her.
"Stop it mom, I don't want to talk."
"Then who will talk? Reginald?" Phoebe asked in annoyance as she glared at her daughter.
"Yes, why not go speak to him. I'm sure he'll tell you everything." She retorted and her mother glared at her.
"Please calm down sweetheart, we're not here to judge you, we just only want to know how it all happened." Radolf rubbed Amelia's back in a soothing manner and it helped ease her mind but with her mother glaring at her, it made things worse.
"Mom is here to judge me, aren't you?" She asked her mother.
"If I was going to judge you then I would've done it while chasing you…but I didn't…we just want to understand why you had a relationship with him." Phoebe tried to appease her daughter.
Amelia's chest rose and fell as she tried to control her emotions. To open her mouth and tell them about it would only worsen everything.
Reginald had agreed that once her mate arrived then they would stop hanging out together but they didn't agree on him stripping her off her title. That was very unfair and she wouldn't forgive him for it.
Her parents waited in silence for her to speak even though three minutes went by.
"It was just lust that drove us to do that. We made an agreement that once I found my mate then we would stop and we did. Even though we loved each other before, now we don't…I don't love Alpha Reginald anymore."
"What about him? He seems to be finding it difficult to let go." Radolf inquired about Reginald's feelings as everything began to make sense why he didn't want Amelia to be his gamma anymore.
As if understanding it too, Phoebe dropped her hands from Amelia's shoulders with a complex look.
"He's still in love with you Amelia…"
"That's why he doesn't want you to be his gamma anymore…he wants to be far away from you." Radolf completed his wife's statement with a grim look.
"He shouldn't let his emotions cloud his judgment." Amelia stated with finality and left them with a sour look.

Standing behind one of the pillars in the corridor, Reginald listened to everything they said and it broke his heart when he heard how Amelia trampled his feelings like it was nothing.
Was this the effect of having a mate?
He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply as he tried to control himself.
'...I don't love Alpha Reginald anymore.'
Her voice echoed in his mind and he angrily clenched his jaw.
This was one of the reasons why he hated mates. They were weaknesses to lycans.
And the annoying thing was that even if Aaron was taken away from her, she wouldn't be able to live with anyone again…just like Angelina. Unless Selene decided to give a new mate.
His father's weakness was his mother and that was how he lost his life. He lost his life trying to fight for her.
But instead of her remaining single, she moved on like his death meant nothing. Some women were really cruel.
He opened his eyes and they changed from ocean blue to being dark red and he silently stepped out from behind the pillar with a disheartening look.
Was there any need in finding Verna?
He didn't love her and he knew he wouldn't love her. His heart was with Amelia.
Men were the only ones fighting for love but what were women doing?
Even his godfather fought hard for his mother, including his stepfather who he hated.
But did his mother fight for his father?
The walk to his chamber was quite far but he didn't mind it, rather he enjoyed the walk because it helped him think.
On getting to his room, he took his phone out of his pocket and dialed a specific line before instructing the person over the phone.
"Change of plans, we leave in an hour. Inform only beta Connery."
There was a delay before the person agreed.
Without saying more, Reginald ended the call and entered his room, thanks to the guards who opened the doors for him.
When the double doors closed behind him, he sighed heavily and closed his eyes.
Amelia was the one to always arrange his luggage for whatever journey he was going, but now he had instructed a maid to arrange it.
The black luggage was neatly packed by his bed side and Reginald opened his eyes to stare at it.
He couldn't spend the night at home after everything. The pain of losing Amelia to his step brother broke his heart further.
But as an Alpha he had to be strong for his people and not let anything distract his focus.
However, it wasn't as easy as it seemed. Heartbreak was never a good experience. It could weigh even the strongest man down.
"Why did you have to say that Amelia?" He muttered to himself as he ran his fingers through his long hair.
His vampire side was furious and wanted to vent out its anger on anything while his lycan side wanted to find its mate, it didn't want Amelia. And as for his angelic side, it was trying to settle the rising tension in his body.
Tears blurred his vision and threatened to fall out but he blinked them back. No matter how hurt he was, he would never shed a tear.
He sat down on a throne-like chair and served himself the red wine that was kept on the wooden side table.
He sat there for nearly an hour, thinking about all the good memories he shared with Amelia.
When he emptied the glass, he dropped it on the table and stood up. He went over to the side of his bed and held the luggage by the handle before apparating out of the room.
The next moment, he appeared in the garage and was met with his men who wore black always.
One of them came to him and took his luggage away so he could place it in the boot.
Reginald quietly went straight to his own Jeep and another bodyguard helped him open the door.
He climbed inside before the door was shut behind him.
"Are you alright, Alpha?"
Spencer, who was already seated in the car some minutes ago, asked Reginald.
"You know how I feel, Spence." Reginald dully responded without looking at his beta who showed concern.
"My father didn't really support this, he wanted to speak with you tonight." Spencer relayed the message.
With a sigh, Reginald faced his beta.
"And let me guess, he wanted to talk about Amelia and I."
"Not really," came Spencer's reply.
The engine started and soon, the car was set in motion.
"They'll still find out we left."
Reginald stared at Spencer for some seconds before facing forward.
"Let them find out. We're already on our way out anyway, so no one can stop us."
Reginald was doing this for Amelia and his stepbrother. He didn't want to come in between them even though his heart said otherwise.
He knew it was going to be impossible for them to be together but it was disheartening that Amelia had to bluntly say she wasn't in love with him after everything.
'He shouldn't let his emotions cloud his judgment.'
Well, he did let his emotions cloud his thinking and he didn't feel bad about it, after all he was still part human and not a god. He had feelings too like every other person.
"Will you reconsider?"
Spencer's question made Reginald's jaw tighten in disagreement.
"You of all people should know me better Spencer."
