Several books were spread all around her as she read through each and every one of them, trying to find something helpful.
There was a lamp close to her, making it easier for her to read in the dark.
Her frown deepened in annoyance when she couldn't find the book about familiars. She searched every book on her shelf but found nothing.
Frustrated, she decided to study more about crows even though she already knew about them but something made her want to know more.
She pulled out a book with black cover and on the front was a crow drawn in gold. Her eyes took in the picture before she opened the book.
Going back to where she sat before, she placed the book on the ground and brought the lamp closer so she could see well.
She flipped through the pages when she found things that didn't interest her.
A furrow marred her forehead in frustration and she subconsciously touched the right side of her neck where she had received the mark.
Something finally caught her attention and she read through;
'...A black crow is usually seen as a symbol of death. It is because of this that a black crow also symbolizes 'Transformation and Change.' Death is not an ending but rather a transformation that we all must go through when our time in our body has come to an end…'
.
Sighing, Angelina closed the book. Even though crows were a symbol of transformation and change, they also had symbols of good luck and wisdom.
'So why then did the crow mark her if it wasn't her familiar?' Angelina wondered to herself as she touched the mark.
The strange thing about the mark was that she could feel it. No one could feel a tattoo mark unless it was burnt to the skin with a hot rod.
'Since a black crow is a symbol of death, then that explained the sword mark…because sword signified death and killing,' she thought to herself in silence.
Getting up, she decided to step out of her room for a break.
When she closed the door behind her, she noticed that the lamps on every wall were reduced.
It was then she realized how hungry she was.
As she walked along the passage, she ran her right hand along the rails and looked down at the grand hall which was empty.
When she faced her front, her movements immediately came to a halt and her eyes slightly widened in surprise.
Curious, she took a bold step with her eyes still watching it closely.
What was before her was a black crow and not just any crow but the one which bit her and left the mark.
Its head was titled to the side as it watched her approach it, step by step with no trace of fear on her face.
Seeing it didn't budge, she paused. Leaving two steps gap between them.
The crow cawed at her, as if telling her to take another step forward.
Angelina didn't move as she dared it with her eyes to come meet her. A smile nearly broke out on her face because of the games they were playing.
The crow cawed harshly at her and took two baby steps before spreading its left wing as if communicating something to her and she smiled in confusion.
When it couldn't pass its message, it stopped cawing and glared at her.
Without warning, it caught her completely off guard by transforming into a huge cloaked corvin with dark thick smoke dancing around it.
She didn't even have the time to gasp or take in its appearance before it swiftly wrapped her in its cloak and disappeared along with her, leaving the passage empty.

Anger couldn't cover how Amelia felt as she stood on the balcony of her room, staring at the 'Enchanted Waterfall' that constantly glowed deep blue.
No one could go close to the Enchanted Waterfall unless they had business with the sirens or mermaids living below.
The beauty about their pack was that it was a combination of other night creatures; the werewolves, mermaids, witches and Vampires.
When Amelia was around her teenage age, she had seen only one siren and it had left her in awe of its beauty.
And she recalled Angelina telling her that mermaids were more alluring and captivating, especially their queen and she had yearned to see her.
As Amelia stood there basking at the glory of the Enchanted Waterfall, her eyes immediately zoomed in on someone who was approaching the glowing river.
A frown marred her forehead as she recognized who it was. It was none other than 'DESMOND.'
Her eyes narrowed at him and she inched closer to the rails of the balcony.
When he reached the bank of the Waterfall river, he stood there in silence.
Amelia could only see his back, so she didn't know the expression he had on his face. The waterfall was half a mile from the mansion.
However, what she never expected happened.
Her eyes nearly fell out in disbelief as Desmond dived right into the glowing river and vanished into it, leaving no trace of him.
"Oh my God!" She exclaimed as she clasped her right hand over her mouth in complete shock.
If he could enter the river of the Enchanted Waterfall freely without being rejected then it meant he had business with one of the mermaids or sirens.
But what business could he possibly have with them in the middle of the night?
Her eyes nearly fell out when a thought came to mind.
Could it be that his mate was a mermaid or siren? Could his daughter be under there too?
Now that explains everything.
All along, his mate and daughter had been in the pack but never would she have expected them to be mermaids or sirens.
This meant he had business with them and that was to see his daughter. So she was under there, Amelia's eyes glittered like she just won a lottery.
"I've finally caught you red-handed Desmond," she smiled to herself as she stood there waiting for him to come out.
However, someone wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and buried his face in the nook of her neck.
"Were you stalking someone?" He playfully asked and she smiled as warmth filled her body.
His touch just had a way of calming and making her feel content.
"I wasn't stalking anyone, I just happened to catch someone red-handed."
"And who is this someone?" He probed as he inhaled her wonderful scent.
Giving the Enchanted Waterfall one last look, she turned in his arms and faced him. His face inched backward as he stared down at her lovely face.
She watched his charming face as he smiled at her.
"This someone happens to be Desmond. I'm sure you've heard of him?" She inquired and he gave a thoughtful look before nodding.
"I've never seen such a fascinating waterfall like that before." His eyes briefly glanced behind her before bringing his gaze back to her. His arms were still around her waist, trapping her.
"How did you enter my room when I wasn't aware of it?" She had a questioning look but her smile remained.
"I sneaked in," he confessed and grinned widely.
Her eyes took in the feature of his face and she sighed because of how breathtaking he was.
Their closeness made them unable to pull away and she nuzzled her face in his chest, making him chuckle at her cuteness.
"You're too much Aaron…and I just want to mark you already." She groaned as she hugged him back.
He kissed the top of her head before resting his chin on it.
"Then you should, because I'm also ready to mark you too Amelia." He rubbed her back lovingly and she hummed in satisfaction.
"My canines are very sharp and they cause great pain." She warned him as she leaned backward and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"My fangs are dangerously needle-like and they cause terrible pain." He gave her a heads-up and she giggled before nodding in understanding.
She knew how dangerously painful it was to be bitten by a vampire. After all, Reginald had bitten her plenty of times to draw blood or for pleasure.
Though, she later got used to it and enjoyed the pain.
But what excited her presently was the fact that she would feel her mate's fangs. She couldn't wait to feel another wave of new pain and feeling.
