At the airport, a black toyota car waited for Amelia to get in. When she got in, her smile brightened on seeing who it was.
"Desmond!...you sure did surprise me." She exclaimed happily, it had been such a long time ever since she saw him. He had always been there for her, Spencer and Reginald when they were little.
Desmond was a demon warlock that Reginald's mother stole from an evil witch's coven.
"Wanted to be the first to welcome you dear...you've grown so beautiful."
"Thank you." She answered with a cheerful smile.
"When I saw Spencer, I thought you all came together but it broke my heart when it was just him alone...are you guys playing a game here? Showing up one after the other."
Desmond arched an eyebrow at her through the rear-view mirror. He set the car into motion and drove out of the airport.
"It's not like that Desmond, it's just that Reginald's been so busy..." She tried to explain but he interrupted.
"Children...look how you guys just abandoned us." He had a sad and disappointed face. Amelia quickly changed the topic.
"I heard you had a daughter...is that true?" A wide smile appeared on Desmond's face when he heard what she said.
"Why did you hide her from all of us?" Amelia wanted to know because it was shocking when she found out recently. Worst of all was that she was born at the same time as her but no one had an inkling of it.
"I myself didn't know Amelia, the woman I fell in love with hid it from me for a very long time."
"Did you ask her why?" Amelia was curious because it was strange.
"Yep, I did." Desmond took his precious time to answer her and Amelia disliked it when he did that.
"Come on Desmond...stop leaving me in suspense." She complained and he laughed heartily.
"That serves as a punishment for leaving us for so long."
"Oh come on, I'm sorry." She apologized but he didn't bother saying more and she decided to let it go for now.
"How's Angelina? Did she know?"
Desmond was Angelina's apprentice so they were close. Angelina was a powerful white witch who protected the pack from intruders.
"She knows," came his simple reply.
Seeing that he was still annoyed with them for not visiting over the years, she decided not to question him again...for now.
Over the years, Brookfield became much more advanced and better, Amelia couldn't help but admire places as they drove by.
She knew the journey from town to their pack would be a long ride because their realm was hidden deep and far away from humans.
"If you're hungry just let me know." Desmond said and she nodded before resting her head against the head rest...it was good to be finally home after a very long time.
Nothing was more better than home...
*
After so many hours of driving, they finally neared home. On seeing the car heading for the wide gigantic gates, the well built gatekeepers pushed the strong gates open and Desmond drove in, giving them a salute.
The place was still heavily guarded with an invisible force created by Angelina and Desmond to shield their realm from human eyes.
Amelia's eyes nearly watered when she saw how well advanced their realm was. Reginald did a lot of work in transforming the place, it was now like a small town with beautiful houses around. And there was their mansion, bigger and extravagant. Amelia's smile widened and her eyes glittered with tears in them.
"Now do you realize what you've been missing?" Desmond taunted her when he saw her reaction and she chuckled lightly.
"Yes...I can see what I've been missing."
People who saw the car passing were curious to know if their alpha was finally back, they wanted to see him.
Getting to the mansion, Desmond parked the car in the wide garage and helped Amelia with her luggage while she carried her bag.
Few maids walking up and down spotted Amelia but when they saw no sign of their alpha, they became disappointed.
Desmond and Amelia followed the garage elevator so it would be easier to reach the main floor on time.
When they got to the main floor and Amelia stepped out, she was suddenly engulfed in a tight embrace.
"My goodness Amelia! Look how you've grown so big." It was Sonia, Connery's mate.
Connery had a wide grin as he came to hug both of them, making them laugh.
"Welcome home Amelia...where's Reginald?" Connery frowned when he didn't see Reginald with her.
"He..."
"AMELIA!!!!" A loud voice squealed in delight and their heads looked up to see her gorgeous mother, Phoebe, standing at the rails.
She hurried downstairs and Amelia shut her eyes tightly because she knew her mom would leave her breathless.
Phoebe used her vampire speed and approached Amelia, she didn't want to wait any longer.
When she got to her daughter, she embraced her and even lifted her up. Everyone laughed and Amelia turned red in embarrassment.
"MOM!"
That was not the end because her father also came along and he hugged both of them and spun them around in excitement and glee.
"My daughter is finally home!!!"
"DAD! Drop me down!" Amelia yelled, she looked like a small child and it irritated her. When he dropped them down, her mother cupped her face and scanned it.
"You look so lean, Amelia, don't you take care of your body?"
"I do mom."
"She's ok to me." Radolf sided her and Amelia winked at her dad and he winked back.
"AMELIA...wow." Angelina who had walked out of another elevator spotted the group of people and she noticed a new familiar face.
"Angelina!"
Amelia called her name and went to hug her tightly, she missed her greatly.
"You look so beautiful...more than your mom." Angelina purposely said it to irk Phoebe.
"Nice try Angelina." Phoebe retorted with a neutral face.
"Where is Reginald? He's been gone for far too long." Angelina frowned in displeasure.
"He'll come soon." Amelia quickly explained but Angelina narrowed her eyes.
"Is his mom here?" Amelia asked because she expected to see her uncle Everand with her. Everand was Phoebe's elder brother and Reginald's mother's second soulmate.
"They'll be here two days from now so don't worry." Connery answered her question.
"Can someone please take this luggage to her room, my work is done here." Desmond announced with a dull expression on his handsome face.
"Let me help you with that." Radolf went over and took the luggage from Desmond.
"Where's Spencer?" Amelia noticed that he didn't come downstairs.
"Resting." Sonia answered and Amelia sighed, Spencer was so lazy.
"Even though Reginald is busy he should know that the pack comes first...what's wrong with him? Are you sure he's alright?" Connery was worried for him, he missed him a lot and it annoyed him that Reginald chose other things rather than his pack.
"He's fine uncle...don't worry he'll be here soon."
"How soon?" Connery quickly asked.
"Give her time to rest first Connery." Radolf intervened and Connery sighed, he had an exhausted look.
Amelia was thankful for her father's help, she quickly found her way upstairs and her mother followed.
.
The next day, Amelia helped in every possible way she could. She helped in minor cases, assisting Connery. There was a lot to do and she could see how much they needed their alpha.
When she was less busy, she began to stalk Desmond, she wanted to see his daughter but there was no sign of her.
She was also feeling nervous and uneasy about the fact that Reginald's mother would be here the next day. She met her once when she was little and the woman was nice but she had a very intimidating aura around her...she was unreachable.
She wondered how the woman would look now because it had been so long since mother and son parted ways.
"How do you think she'd react when she sees us Spence?" Amelia one day decided to voice out her concerns to Spencer who was jobless.
"She'll be cold." Spencer purposely said that to get on Amelia's nerves.
"I'm serious Spencer." She had a dull look on her face.
"Why do you care? Is it because you're secretly dating her son?" Spencer bluntly said what he wanted with a straight face.
"Maybe...I just have a feeling of giving a good impression to her." She voiced out her concern and Spencer nodded his head slightly.
"Just be you..."
Amelia sighed and something suddenly came to her mind.
"Why are you stalking Desmond?"
"I should also ask you the same question, Amelia." Spencer nonchalantly backfired.
"I asked you first." She didn't want to back down. Spencer sighed and rubbed his neck while she patiently waited for him to speak.
"I'm curious, I just wanted to know if she might be my mate." Her eyes widened at his words and she snickered in disbelief.
"Are you serious Spence? You're already crushing on her when you've not even met her...how ridiculous."
"To you it's ridiculous, but not to me." He defended himself.
