The buzzing sound of the alarm clock filled the room, which was decorated in stark black and vibrant red. In the disarray of the bed, a teenage girl lay, her blanket hovering over her face and her hair scattered in every direction. She groaned, struggling to sit up, and reached over to turn off the insistent alarm clock.
"Happy birthday to you," she heard her grandfather's voice and looked up to find him standing at the door with a huge smile on his face, making his way towards her.
"GP," she called with a barely audible voice.
"Happy birthday, my dearest," he said, walking closer and placing a kiss on her forehead while cupping her face in his hand. "Go and freshen up and come down for breakfast. After all, it's your sweet sixteen party, and there will be no training classes today," he said, looking at his granddaughter's sleepy and confused face.
"My... my... sweet sixteen... training classes?" she asked in a daze.
The old man took one more look at his granddaughter and couldn't help but sigh. She had always been a sleepyhead, even though she excelled in what she did. With one more year added to her age, he hoped she would start acting more mature, especially before his useless son ruined both her and her mother's lives forever.
"I'll be waiting downstairs. Get dressed and come for breakfast," he said, giving her the privacy she needed.
Bella took one more look around to make sure she wasn't in one of her fantasies. She stood up from her bed and ran towards the mirror to find herself back to being sixteen years old.
But she was meant to die after being shot in the chest. Wasn't she?
She quickly undid her buttons to find not a single scar on her body, except the ones she received from being beaten up by her father and the training classes.
"I have been given a second chance," she said in an ironic tone while looking at herself in the mirror.
It was exactly this time of the year that her world turned inside out. Her father had decided to bring his mistress and her daughter to the house and chased both her and her mother out. They were taken in by her grandfather, who made sure she received training to become part of the mafia. However, she was tired of those training sessions and made a wish... the wish. If only she had made the right wish, things wouldn't have ended the way they did, she was sure of that.
"Ella Carson... I asked you to make sure I never find my way back, but you failed. Now watch as I wreck your entire world," she scoffed.
She wasn't going to spare anyone this time, especially those who caused harm to her loved ones.
She smiled like a psycho and began jumping while making a spin.
"I'm back... I'm back... I'm back!" she kept screaming and laughing.
She made her way towards her walk-in wardrobe to prepare herself for the day. After all, it was her birthday, the day that unveiled a ruthless being, the birthday of a female devil, and the next Mafia queen.
A devilish smirk appeared on her face again as thoughts about being the first mafia queen crossed her mind, but her smile didn't last long.
Suddenly, she heard a very loud buzzing sound that made her wish she could switch her head with someone else's for some time.

The sound died down a bit, only to be replaced by a painful sting. She held her head in both hands, falling to the ground and pulling her hair, but it didn't reduce the intense sensation in her brain.
She clutched her hand and screamed loudly, hoping someone could hear and help her, but not even a single sound escaped her room because it was soundproof.

"And what if I fail?" Bella questioned coldly.

"And I have no room for losing," Bella scoffed.
Since the system claimed it is going to help her get her revenge, why not give it a chance? After all, there is no harm in trying.

If she didn't fall in love with the guy her father sold her off to, maybe she would have had a chance to kill him and become the queen.
But there's no room for regret after all she got a second chance at life.
