Chapter 6 - Deja vu

~~ BELLA'S POV ~~

I called up Kiara to ask her about her vacation, as it's been almost a week since she left after I rescued her from the captivity of that bastard they call a mafia king.

After the day I rescued her from herself, we grew closer, and I couldn't help but smile whenever I remember Butterfly telling me I wouldn't regret my decision because I never did.

"Kiara, where are you right now? Are you still in Africa?" I questioned with a smile.

"Hmm no, I left Lagos three days ago," she said, and speaking about Lagos, I couldn't remember which country she was talking about, which would make me look silly because she has told me the answer to this particular question of mine more than a zillion times.

[Except for being smart, you have a good brain I doubt you can ever use properly], I heard Butterfly mock, and I just couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Please go back to wherever you creeped out, for I need some alone time," I said in a low tone.

[Whatever].

She said, and inside my head suddenly turned quiet. I looked at Kiara, who was busy with a book, and nervously bit my lip.

"Ahem... Kiara, can you please remind me of the country you're talking about?" I asked for the nth time, and I couldn't help but notice the 'are you serious?' look she threw at me.

"Nigeria, Bella. Please don't tell me you're having a short-term memory loss?" she acted dramatic.

"No no, it's just that I thought your mum was from South Africa," I stated my confusion.

"Hmm yes, she's half Nigerian and South African, as my grandma is from South Africa and my granddad is Nigerian. Also, my dad is American, making me half American and Nigerian," she reminded me of her family history, adding emphasis on each country she mentioned.

"I promise never to forget," I placed my hand on my chest as if giving a pledge, and she began laughing.

"So where are you right now?"

"I went back to business."

"I'm in Venice, is there any problem?"

I checked my time, and we still had enough time.

"Can you come over to Florence quickly? We have work to do," I said and saw her bringing out her bag and placing her clothes in it.

"What's the work about?"

"It's Bolin," I answered.

"You mean Don Bolin; what does that asshole want?"

"He wants to make a deal with me, and I don't seem to like it," I sighed.

"And what deal does the Hong Kong mafia boss want to make?"

I brought out my tablet, sending her the little information I was able to gather.

"I just sent you the little information I have on this deal. Go through it and make sure you're here on time." She just nodded to my instructions and wore a jacket.

Amid all this chaos, I forgot to inform her about my marriage, but before I could speak, she spoke up.

"What's your meeting time?"

"9:00 pm."

"I'll be at your place before eight," she kept talking, while I just kept nodding.

"I have big news for you," I chipped in.

"Which is?" she raised an eyebrow up.

"I'll be getting married in a week."

"What?... you're lying!" she screamed with wide eyes.

"I'm not. My GP arranged my marriage, and I can't refuse him," I sighed and drank from my glass of alcohol.

"And who's this Lucky person?" she winked. I wasn't ready to start up this conversation, so I brushed it off.

"You wouldn't want to know. Just get your ass here on time, okay?" I waved goodbye and ended the call.

*. *. *

I arrived at Tenax club and spotted Bolin and his men at the VIP session. [Potential threat can't be estimated], Butterfly informed, and I just nodded.

"Let Kiara and I handle this ourselves. Butterfly, I want you to just watch, okay?" I said, more of a command.

[Do whatever you want to, but don't get killed], I heard her say, and I nodded before sluggishly making my way toward Bolin. His men stopped me and did a thorough search, collecting my weapons, but I just smiled. Well, after spending so many years with Butterfly, I finally got to understand why she has never helped anyone before and decided to help me.

From my research, systems are meant to help the people they are bonded to by helping them win points, which they can use to get one ability or the other. But my system is the opposite.

She doesn't provide me with any of those, except alerting me to threats, dangers, and providing me with a map only when I get lost.

She doesn't even provide me with a weapon if I'm in need of one, as she believes I have to be responsible for myself and pack my things myself in the space she provided me.

Does that even make sense?

Well, I can say she's the laziest system in the world, but I can't. So I guess the name "cute and dangerous" fits her.

Wondering how?

Well, she's cute when she informs you of impending threats but dangerous when she leaves you to face it all on your own.

"Donna Bella," Bolin called as I approached him, dragging me out of my thoughts.

"Good evening, Don Bolin," I sat beside him.

"Same here, gorgeous. I'm pleased that you honored my invitation," he said with a smile as one of the waiters handed me a glass of Long Island Iced Tea.

"As if I had any other option," I scoffed.

"No, no, no, don't say that. You do have an option, my queen," he looked at me with lust in his eyes, and I felt disgusted.

I couldn't blame him as I wore a black sweater and blue denim shorts with black boots, exposing my legs.

"So let's get down to business," I brought out my packet of cigarettes.

"Yes, Donna Bella, I want to make a deal with you," he said, his face turning serious.

"Which is?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I want you to sign a deal that would merge our territories, allowing drug trafficking and women from my country to yours."

I couldn't help but pity this foolish man. If only he could see how I wanted to teach him a lesson, then he wouldn't have been sitting here making such offers. I kept calm and had a sip of my Long Island Iced Tea as I was still eager to hear the nonsense he was about to say.

"Kiara, assess the environment," I communicated through the Bluetooth device in my ear.

"And what's in it for me?"

"Twenty percent," he replied with confidence.

What a stingy man.

"Bella, you're surrounded by thirty-five armed men of Bolin," she reported, and I nodded.

Kiara is surely the best when it comes to hacking, no doubt.

'Could this man be so weak that he needed thirty-five men to save him from a little girl like me?' I thought to myself and chuckled.

"And what if I say no?" I dropped the glass and signaled the waiter to refill it.

"Then you better think again, Donna Bella.

"We might be in your territory, but you're surrounded by my men," he mocked.

"Well, does this slut think I fear him? Then fuck him."

"You're right on one thing, you are in my territory, so you would have to think twice before acting, Don Bolin," I dismissed the waiter.

"And I know you love your life, Donna Bella," he smirked and looked up at me as if I'm helpless.

[Do you still want me not to intervene?] Butterfly asked, but I just ignored her.

"I never told you I had a life, Don Bolin, and if you've not heard the saying, I'd like to tell you that after death comes my name."

After my rebirth, I no longer have an ounce of fear left in me. It's as if they all died the same day I did.

"You surely are some feisty lady," he turned to motion all his men, and in the next second, they all pointed their guns at me.

I drank my drink lazily and cocked my head backward with a smile plastered on my face.

"Butterfly...are my back up bullets still in my space?"

[Yes, give an answer to my first question.]

"I told you to let Kiara and me handle this, so don't get worked up, and it's not as if you're going to help me kill everyone. I'm still the one going to do all of that," I said and turned to meet the dirty eyes of Bolin feasting on my body.

"Is this all a slut like you is capable of?" I questioned with a smile.

"I'll only tell you this once, sign those papers," he tossed a pen at me.

"And I say no," I tossed it back with a relaxed look

"How dare you, bitch?!" he screamed, and it really hurt my ears..so I threw my glass at him making his nose bleed and immediately help him at gunpoint

"I think you don't know why I am called a mafia queen and why I'm the only queen among kings," I traced his jawline with the gun.

And immediately his minions aimed at me "I'll kill you bitch"

"Hmm, you shouldn't speak like that, old man. What would God think of you when you go meet him, huh? Tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk," I clicked my tongue with a victorious smirk.

"I warned you, Don Bolin. I told you that after death comes my name, but you still dare to threaten me in my territory," I chuckled, and I could tell his men thought of me as a psycho.

"Well, it's been a long time I did some exercise, so let's have fun," I pouted, looking around.

"Kiara, would I be able to get out without harming anyone?"

"Sure, just take that bastard out of the club, and you're free," Kiara replied through the Bluetooth device I was wearing.

Kiara knows very well how I handle my work, so I always trusted her judgment a hundred percent.

I pulled Bolin by his collar out of the club, and his men kept following us but couldn't shoot since I used their boss as a shield.

"You're going to regret this, bitch," he cursed.

"No, I won't, but tell the devil to spare you when you get to hell," I pulled the trigger and pushed him away.

His men started open fire on me immediately, and I took to my heels.

I couldn't use my car as I sent the driver away, and my motorcycle was somewhere far away.

"Kiara, how many kilometers am I away from my motorcycle?"

"Hmm, sorry, Bella, but you're 1.5 km away. I told you to keep your bike close," she started rumbling, which I wasn't ready for.

"I'll manage, don't worry," I quickly cut her off. I never liked keeping my motorcycle or car close to wherever I was going on a mission because it takes out the fun in it and also makes it easy to trace me.

[And this is your way of handling it?]

"Hey, just shut up and quit making me look like a crazy person because that's what people would think when they see I'm talking to myself," I scolded as I immediately made for the run.
