Chapter 5 - Ch 5: The Dragon's Test

Leon said.

"I use this function by tapping on the icon that says 'genre'. The system shows me six icons representing different genres of novels. I tap on the one that I want to enter. The system then transports me to that world."

The dragon said.

"I see. And can you do that anytime? Can you leave this world right now?"

Leon said.

"No, I can't. I can only use this function once per chapter. A chapter is the time limit that the system gives me to stay in each world. After that, I have to return to my original world."

The dragon asked.

"And how long is a chapter? How much time do you have left in this world?"

Leon tapped on his status screen and saw his time limit.

[Time limit: 2 minutes.]

He felt a surge of panic and urgency.

He said.

"A chapter is usually 10 minutes. I have only 2 minutes left in this world."

The dragon said.

"Only 2 minutes? That's not much time. What will happen when the time is up? What will happen to you?"

Leon said.

"When the time is up, the system will transport me back to my original world. I will retain my memories and any items or skills I acquired in this world. But I will also face the consequences of my actions in this world."

The dragon asked.

"What kind of consequences? What do you mean by that?"

Leon said.

"I mean that whatever I do in this world will affect my original world as well. If I die in this world, I will die in my original world as well. If I harm or help someone in this world, it will affect my relationship with them in my original world as well. If I change something significant in this world, it will alter the course of history in my original world as well."

The dragon said.

"Really? That sounds dangerous. That sounds risky. That sounds fun."

Leon asked.

"Fun? How is that fun?"

The dragon said.

"It's fun because it's unpredictable. It's fun because it's challenging. It's fun because it's meaningful. It's fun because it makes you feel alive."

Leon asked.

"Is that why you want my system? Because you want to have fun?"

The dragon said.

"Yes, that's why I want your system. Because I want to have fun. Because I want to live."

Leon asked.

"And what will you give me in return? What do I want from you?"

The dragon said.

"I don't know. You tell me. What do you want from me?"
