So, as the pregnancy progressed, things became even more difficult for Lucy. Her anxiety started to manifest in physical symptoms, like headaches and heart palpitations. She felt completely overwhelmed, and she didn't know where to turn for help. When Lucy was about seven months pregnant, she hit her breaking point. She felt so anxious and alone that she finally reached out for help. She made an appointment with a therapist, and she began to work on managing her anxiety and stress. So, with the help of her therapist, Lucy began to make some progress.
So, just as things were at their bleakest for Lucy, she got a phone call from her Rebecca her cousin, who lived far away. Rebecca had heard about the challenges Lucy was facing, so she offered to come and stay with her for a while. Rebecca arrived, and immediately brought a sense of calm and hope to the household. She cooked, cleaned, and just generally took care of Lucy. She also helped Lucy focus on the positive things ahead, instead of dwelling on the challenges. As time went on, Lucy's mood started to lift. Her cousin's presence made a world of difference, and she began to feel excited about the future again. In fact, she even started to look forward to the baby's arrival.
As the due date got closer, Lucy's cousin helped her prepare for the baby's arrival. They set up the nursery, bought baby supplies, and just generally got ready for the new addition to the family.
A week after Rebecca's arrival, Marshal showed up and offered to stay with Lucy and protect her until the child is born. For the vampires might decide to attack ata nay moment, in other to take down the chosen one. At this point, Lucy was completely happy that she had her two close friends staying and taking good care of her.
While Lucy was looking forward to her birth, she also thought of the well being of her husband. She would pray to the goddess of the moon everyday to help her protect her husband from the terror of Adolphus and his colleagues. She also vowed to herself that once she has put to birth, that she would go out and rescue her husband from Adolphus evil spell. But for the meantime, Rebecca and Marshal won't let her do any form of work. They pampared her like a queen, and won't even let her feet touch the ground.
Lucy was extremely grateful to this friends of her, for they showed up at a point where all hope of survival seemed to be lost. This three friends acted like a family, they watched each other's back, and made it their upmost priority to ensure the safety of each other, especially Lucy and her unborn child.
They couldn't wait any more for Lucy to give birth, as they were already wondering and visualizing how the child would be." Will the child be a boy or a girl, pretty or handsome, gentle or stubborn. This thought kept on revolving around their head, each to the extent that they began discussing the hair color of the child, and you amongst them would be making the child's hair, who will be helping the child get ready for school, and also who will be dropping and bringing the child back from school..
This silly argument of their's could only make Lucy to start thinking of hasten her due date. Also as a chosen one appointed even before birth, it made it obvious that the child was a special one. They also wondered the amount of power he/she would possess, and how the first transformation would be for the baby.
While all this thoughts where going on, Adolphus on the other hand was searching every corner of the city for Lucy. Even his magic pills couldn't give him their exact location. Byran on the other hand, was now one of Adolphus strongest ally. So Adolphus used him to cause a lot of pains and havocs in the city.
It was finally the week, for Lucy delivery. They could already see the long awaited day knocking at their door. Lucy could feel the baby trying to come out, her happiness, joy and laughter knew no boundaries. She would sit up all day rubbing her stomach and talking to her baby with alot of smile on her face. While, Rebecca and Marshal were already making preparations for Lucy's delivery. They cleared all the grasses growing in their compound, they built a cradle for the baby and placed it next of Lucy's bed. They harvested enough food from their farm, and bought alot of food items for both themselves, Lucy and her unborn child.
One would actually think that the goddess herself was visiting their household. At night, the three of them would come outside, stare at the sky and feel the gentle breeze of nature. They would sing joyous songs and dance their strength away until they begin to fall asleep one after the other.
The long awaited day was here. It was as early as 12am in the morning, that a loud noise was heard from Lucy's room. Both Rebecca and Marshal rushed into her room to know what was happening, only to discover that Lucy was in labor. She felt a striking pain in her stomach, her heart started beating rapidly, her legs were heavy and shivering, infact It was not as simple as she thought it would be. She kept on shouting as if the earth has been placed on her head.
Marshal had to run outside in search of any near by midwife, while Rebecca sat beside her and kept on consoling her. 20mins gone, and Marshal is yet to be back. Lucy water broke and it felt as though she wanted to ease herself, but Rebecca who was already scared and worried kept on pleading with her to be strong. 30mins later, Marshal arrived with a mid wife; who helped him carry Lucy into the room to give birth.
Rebecca was right by her side, offering support and encouragement. It was a long and difficult labor. Lucy felt as if the world was turning upside down, her legs were spread wide open, while the midwife kept on pleading with her to keep pushing. lighten stroke, rivers tumbled, heavy wind blew while the earth shaked. finyally, Lucy heard the most beautiful sound in the world: the sound of her baby's first cry.
Aww, this is such a sweet moment for Lucy, for she has finally overcame her world biggest
and has also accomplished her world biggest desire. she felt a rush of love and emotion that she had never experienced before.
After a while, the midwife came out and met Byran saying, " may our goddess be praised, finally the chosen one has a life of her own". Lucy just gave birth to a baby girl". "Yes!!!!! , finally the era of evil is about coming to an end" Marshal shouted happily. " So how is Lucy doing?" He asked.
"Aaaaaaaaah" a strange voice came out of the room. "What was that, I think that sounds like Lucy's voice" Marshal said. Immediately the midwife ran inside to know what has happened to Lucy. Suddenly, the half Moon turned full, stars filled the sky and there was a heavy rainfall. What a strange sight to be beheld by both the mortals and the immortals. The midwife came out of the room looking extremely happy but confused, her mouth was tight and heavy as though she has bombed into a ghost.
"What happened?, Where is Lucy?, and what has happened to her?. Byran asked in a tensed tone. Please calm down, Lucy is completely alright; it's just that she has given birth to a set of twins" the midwife replied. Byran happiness knew no boarder but on a second thought he was also confused at the same time, as they did not know who the chosen one was, because each birth of theirs had strange event accompanied with it.
Rebecca who was inside the room with Lucy gave her a tight hug and covered her face with pecks. She kept on smiling as though she was the one that gave birth. She placed the twins on Lucy's arms, she felt complete, dumbfounded and overwhelmed with joy. She looked at her baby's tiny faces and felt an instant fierce bond. And in this moment, she knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, she would face them with courage and love.
But the question is which amongst this twins is the chosen one.
