Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO: GOOD AS DEAD

"Matilda! No, Matilda, wake up!" Melissa shook her sister's body as tears rushed out from her hazel eyes.

Melissa, who already knew she would be nothing as good as dead since her sister, who always defends, protects, and prevents her from getting hurt is…

"Melissa, get away! She needs a doctor, and not you!" Their cousin, Alena, echoed before she lifted Matilda, and walked out.

"Is she dead?"

"What will happen to Olin?"

"Olin, are you really the father of the lady's son?"

"Olin, why did you break our dear Matilda's heart?"

"Mr. Fred, aren't you going to utter any word?"

Reporters asked several questions as their camera lights flashed on the Kay's family and Olin, who hid his face in shame as he managed to take the back exit.

Melissa, who already knew how to stop the crowd, immediately used one of her numerous pranks to create a way for her uncle, and Alena, to walk.

In no time, they got to the car lot. Alena used her car to carry both her father, and Matilda into the car, while Melissa drove her sister's car.

"Doctor, how is she? Is our plan going well?" Alena asked the doctor before she sat down alongside her father, who was wearing a sad, and pale facial expression.

The doctor let out a deep breath before he could utter those words which made him feel guilty. Who wouldn't? Who will feel innocent after betraying the daughter of someone who trusted you with everything, including his daughters? "The test confirmed she has Meningitis. No need to poison her because she will die in the next hour".

"How? How sure are you that Matilda, who escaped death many times, will die?" The fierce voice of Fred echoed loudly.

In fear, the doctor, who was already shivering, managed to reply to Fred, who needed a concrete reason why she should be alive.

"She will die just like Melina. Let's kill her clean!"

"Clean? Don't you know I like seeing blood splash? Don't you know I yawn to see her get drawn with my hands? Don't you know I am curious about how the blood of that bitch tastes? Or have you forgotten that I killed Melina with my knife?" Alena sucked her tempting lips as she echoed every word without an ounce of pity, or emotions in her voice.

"That is my point, she is unpredictable! Let's kill her in a medical way. I am certain, this time, she won't escape death". The doctor echoed with his hand tightly holding on to his desk to avoid falling down.

Each time he is with Fred, and his daughter, they always scare him, and make him feel pathetic.

"Do it well if you do not want to see the head of your son, and pregnant wife on your table!" She echoed loudly with her eyes piercing into his scary witted eyes.

To Alena, she either kills or gets killed. That is how she has lived her life, and was able to survive in the harsh business world, which wasn't smiling at her.

She killed her elder cousin at the age of twenty, what difference will it make after four years?

"I will make sure I do a clean job this time. Please fulfil your promise". In fright, he uttered shakily before he stood up about to leave. "I have patients to attend to".

"We also need to visit Matilda, at least her condition now will predict if your plan will work out". With that, Alena walked out with her father leading the way out of Mr. Steven's office.

Slowly, her clicking heels echoed as she walked slowly to the elevator which took both her, and her father to the patient's ward.

"Alena, what did the doctor say? Is Matilda awake?" Melissa, who held a food container, and a big bag in her other hand, asked curiously as she glared at her cousin who faked a sad look.

"She is not going to wake anytime soon. The doctor gave us a drug prescription, but we can't get it here". Alena paused as she awaits the reaction of Melissa.

Melissa, who just heard what Alena said, replied hastily. "Where can we get it? I don't care where I can get it".

"In here, the location, and drug prescription are written". Fred, who had been silent all this while, stretched over a shit of white paper with a touch of blue ink to her.

"Okay. Thank you so much. I know this drug will help Matilda get back on her feet, and overcome the heartbreak". With that, she took the paper, and rushed out.

'Melissa, go meet your doom, while your sister embraces hers! I will make sure your father pays for not believing in my father, even in his grave!' A cruel smirk made its way to her lip as she watched Melissa rush out, before she walked into the hospital alongside her father.

A bright smile made its way to Fred's pale, and hard-looking face as he checked Matilda's body. She didn't respond to his touch, nor did she breathe. It is obvious, she is breathing with the aid of the oxygen fixed on her.

"Alena, the doctor was right". After confirming, he echoed.

After she heard what her Father said, she gently walked up to Matilda to see for herself if her father was right about what he just said.

She did not want what happened last time to happen. She did not want to lose her people because of little mistakes.

"Matilda, now rest in peace. At least, those flaunts, yell, sassy parades, objections, will now be over. Haha." She chuckled softly before she walked to the seat beside the patient's bed.

Gently, she slid her hand into her pocket before she brought out her phone. She dialed an assassin contact, who picked immediately.

'Mr. Blood, I have a job for you'. She echoed almost as she saw him picked up.

'If the pay is huge because I won't stress myself over a penny. You know, I only did that for the previous one because you…'

'You don't have to remember me about that night! Check your account balance. I sent you a billion dollars! Kill Melissa, the lady I just sent you the picture. She will be at the location I sent to you in an hour. Make sure to do a clean job, and of course, keep my share of blood!'

Matilda, who slowly opened her eyes with her head spinning, heard the phone conversation of Alena.
