Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

"Are you joining in the competition?" Gayatri asked him curiously.

"Well, the reward is nice and the date with Kavya. Eh, I doubt I will actually win this. And even if I did and go on a date it wouldn't be anything special." Michael said to her with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Why do you think that?" Gayatri asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't have any experience regarding girls. As you know I never had a single girlfriend and I rarely talk to girls and even if I do it's just small surface level stuff. So I don't think it would be much." Michael said nonchalantly.

Gayatri looked at him for a few seconds before she looked back at the stage as Aravind took the focus again as he explained some trivia to the people gathered. After that he told them about their food outside and thanked the assembled Players before he left the stage alongside the other Gold Players.

It was still a good time before lunch time so the Players all just went to the hall and started to talk with each other. Many of the girls were excited about seeing Aravind and the other gold Players while the boys were talking about seeing Kavya. But the most prevalent conversation topic was of her offer for a date should they win the contest.

"I will win this for sure and get to go on a date with her!"

"Dream on man. I'll be the one to win this!"

"Yeah right. I'm all pumped up for this! I won't lose!"

These were the types of conversations on the sids of the boys as they are pretty excited about the prospect of actually going on a date with Kavya who is admittedly one of the most beautiful women in India.

"I will win this for sure! Then I will get to hang out with miss Kavya!"

"Yeah yeah. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity! I won't miss it!"

"Well, if it's miss Kavya I guess I won't mind it that much."

These were the types of conversations going on the side of girls as many wanted to hang out with Kavya while a few were attracted to her.

Michael and Gayatri looked at the people and could hear their chatter as they looked at each other. While he was looking around he saw Sidharth standing alone in thought as he narrowed his eyes at him. He tapped Gayatri on her shoulder and pointed at his direction.

Gayatri looked at the direction before scowling when she saw him. Then she became a bit confused when he looked at her before going back to thinking. Then her eyes widened as she realised why he was acting like that.

"Well, looks like the prize of going on a date with Kavya has gotten his attention. Enough that he isn't trying to get close to me or is just preoccupied with thinking out a plan." Gayatri said as she looked at him.

"So, either he continues to gun for you, or he ditches that and try to win this contest to get close to Kavya. Even he knows that he would have to give it his all if he wants to win this contest against all the other Players." Michael said as he looked at the man.

"He will most likely try to win the contest. I would like it if he did." Gayatri said with a nod.

The two watched as Sidharth looked at the two of them before he walked away. A smile formed on Gayatri's face which Michael saw as he smiled at it seeing that.

"Well, at least that nuisance will not bother me for the duration of this contest. Finally, I will get some peace." Gayatri said as she sighed.

"Glad to hear it. Wonder how they're going to divide the teams. I guess the both of us have a chance of being in the same team since we live in the same area." Michael said as he looked at her.

"There's no guarantee. They might be dividing it based on a much larger area or by the experience a Player has. We don't know it so we can only wait." Gayatri said with a shrug.

"Can't you just ask Arun for information?" Michael asked her curiously.

"I'm not going to ask him. He has become too arrogant after becoming a Gold Player." Gayatri said with a frown.

"Still... You are his sister so I'm sure he would be willing." Michael said to her at hearing that.

"I don't want to talk about it." Gayatri said as she crossed her arms.

"If you say so." Michael said as he looked at the people gathered.

Gayatri glanced at him as he looked and took in the amount of people in the large hall before she also did the same.

'You really don't hate him after he treated you like that huh big brother? How are you so forgiving towards him?' Gayatri thought to herself as she looked at Michael.

Gayatri scratched her head before she took out her phone and looked at the latest topics. Her eyes were bored as she looked at the topics of some politicians.

'Guess even in this situation politics continues to play a role huh. At least being the little sister of a Gold Player has given me some leeway. Our family is also quite rich so they can't do anything to us. Even if they did we would just hunt them down. But I guess I should ask brother to not always go hunting politicians. It would get too suspicious if he removes the annoying one.' Gayatri thought to herself as she closed her phone.

"Anything interesting on the news?" Michael asked her curiously.

"No. Just plain old politics and other things. What do you plan on doing after lunch?" Gayatri asked him as she looked at him.

"Well, I was thinking of roaming the city since I'm already here right now. What are you going to do?" Michael asked her after telling her that.

"I haven't decided yet." Gayatri said with a shrug.

"Hmm, then why don't we go look around the city together. You can decline if you want." Michael said to her with a smile.

"Why are you inviting me?" Gayatri asked him a bit surprised.

"We haven't really talked for a long time Gayatri. I know that we've drifted away from each other due to the years. So, at the very least I want us to be good friends. You don't have to see me as big brother or anything." Michael said to her with a smile.

Gayatri looked at him as she digested his words before she looked down and closed her eyes.

"Fine. It's a good idea." Gayatri said with a nod.

"Glad to hear it." Michael said with a smile when he heard that.

Gayatri glanced at him as he took out his phone and looked at it before a small smile appeared on her face.

'I guess I should use this chance after all.' Gayatri thought to herself as she smiled to herself.
