Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

After they were done at the cafeteria they parted ways as the girls went on their way. After that Michael went to the hospital where his mother was admitted and then talked to the staff.

"So, is it possible to do the treatment?" Michael asked the staff member.

"Yes but the doctor needed for that has to come here first. Can you pay for it though?" The staff asked him curiously.

"Yes. I can pay." Michael said to the staff with a nod.

"You are sure correct cause this is a very expensive treatment." The staff said to him seriously.

"Yes." Michael said to her with a nod.

"Alright. I will give the notice to the central HQ and when they reply I will send the news to you." The staff said to him.

"Okay. Thank you." Michael said with a nod.

He then went to his mother's room and sat on the chair beside her bedside and looked at her sleeping form. He held her hand and sqeezed it very lightly, conscious of his new strength and not wanting to accidentally break or crush her hand.

"Hey mom, I'm about to give you the treatment needed to heal you. Please wake up after it." Michael said to her as he looked at her face.

She didn't reply obviously as he just looked at her. He then raised her hand and placed a kiss on the back of her hand and smiled at her.

"I'm about to go to Delhi now. I know it's abrupt but I want to know why I was called. I will come back very soon." Michael said to her with a soft smile.

He spent some more minutes in the room before he exited the room. He then walked out of the hospital and then immediately used his strength to jump on top of a building. He then used his speed and strength to jump from building to building as he quickly made his way through the city.

'It is going to be a bit of time for me to reach Delhi.' Michael thought to himself as he ran.

While he was doing that Lakshmi had just been brought to her home by her two sisters. She was ushered inside by her sisters as they entered behind her. Her parents came to the front and saw her and immediately ran to meet with her.

They looked her over and were relieved to find out that she was fine. They pulled her into the living room and made her sit on the couch as they sat beside her. Sreya and Adhira also sat on the adjacent couch as they watched.

"Seriously mom, I'm fine." Lakshmi said to her mother with a sweatdrop.

"Maybe, but I want to be sure. The job of a Player is very risky Lakshmi." Her mother said to her.

"I'm not a child anymore mom." Lakshmi said to her in indignation.

"You will always be my child Lakshmi." Her mother said to her as she caressed her daughters cheeks.

Lakshmi blushed in embarrassment at her mother's words, more so because she could hear her sister's snickering beside her.

"Whatever the case may be, you were injured enough that you had been admitted to the hospital. We can't just not be worried about you." Her father said to her calmly.

"I know dad. But I'm fine. Really." Lakshmi said to her father seriously.

"If that is what you are saying then ok. I don't see any injuries on you so you should be fine. The two of them did say that it wasn't that serious but we wanted to be sure." Her father said to her a bit relieved as he saw that there weren't any serious injuries on her daughter's.

The sisters sweatdropped a bit when they heard that and kept their mouths shut, lest they give away something which causes their parents to reach the truth. Even if they are Players now they are still afraid of their parents wrath.

'I don't want to ever feel their look of disappointment ever again.' Sreya and Adhira thought to themselves as they looked at their parents.

'I hope I can survive this.' Lakshmi thought to herself nervously.

After that her mother spent the rest of the time with her while her father bought them lunch. Meanwhile the sisters were thinking about their future plans and about what to do. They decided to have the talk in Sreya's room as they are currently there.

"We must include Lakshmi in our group." Adhira said to her older sister.

"We don't have a choice do we. We both know that she is too stubborn to stand down, especially when the two of us are already fighting." Sreya said as she sighed.

"I guess. We have to also think about Michael." Adhira said to her sister.

"He's seems like a good guy and Lakshmi does trust him very much." Sreya said with a sigh.

"And he has protected our sister very much. And not to mention he is very strong, that's something that we can't refute." Adhira said to her seriously.

"Yeah. That punch was something." Sreya said agreeing with her sister.

The two sisters then remembered how he had obliterated that boss with that one punch. They shivered a bit due to that as they knew that they might die if they were to receive his attack at that level of power.

"There's also the fact that Lakshmi would want to work with him. And there's also the other thing." Adhira said to her sister.

Sreya sighed at the words of her sister as she also knew what she was talking about.

"Lakshmi seems to have developed some feelings for him. Though I think it's not much since she didn't have much of a reaction but she's most likely going to go after him. So the chance of her feelings growing more is great." Sreya said to her sister with a contemplative look.

"And it's not like she is going to fully listen to us. She likes him too much to not work with him. Most likely, we'll have to go with her if we deny her." Adhira said to her contemplatively.

"I guess we don't have much of a choice. We only met him for a short amount of time but he seems to be a nice guy. But we don't know if he's just faking it as well. It's not impossible for something like that to happen." Sreya said with narrowed eyes.

"Yeah. If he turns out of have been acting to get Lakshmi then..." Adhira said as she looked at her fist.

"Well, he's going to be in a world of hurt. Even with his strength." Sreya said determined.
