The dance with the unknown man went perfectly well. She was lost in the moment. The way he held her so gently and looked at her like she was the most interesting thing in the world.
The party already came to an end about half an hour ago but the ball room was still full with men of different states discussing business and making one deal or the other. Mia had to wait behind to bid farewell to some of her guests.
"Mia....?" Ava's concerned voice called out to her when she noticed just how tired and pale she was looking. "Hey, are you okay?" Ava asked worriedly.
"Hey.... Yeah, I'm good. Just exhausted and can't wait to get out of this heels and place". Her small sweet now weak voice came out lower than intended
"Don't worry, your tomorrow celebration will be way better" Ava said to her reassuringly.
"Hopefully" she replied with her tired voice.
Ava looked at her friend and saw just how exhausted she was. She have really over worked herself although she seem to have had an atom of fun. She made a mental note to ask her about the cute hottie she was dancing with earlier. " Okay, you look like a girl from the walk-in dead movie. Give me a sec to notify the guys that we are heading to our suits." Ava said, rushing over to the center of the ball where she last saw her date and Leo. Mia could only nod as to what she said before she realized that, Ava was long gone.
Standing on her feet, she made it to the entrance of the ballroom and she signed in satisfaction and bliss as the thought of finally getting some rest crossed her mind. Her sore feet hurts and she would give anything in the world to be able to get some rest at this point.
"You look really tired dove" the familar voice from earlier said. She looked up to meet the breathtaking stranger from earlier. He was the demi God that asked her to dance with him. At the sight of this beautiful creature, she was left speechless. she opened her mouth and closed it without uttering a word. This action of hers made her look like a fish in the water, trying so hard to drink.
"Uhmm....yeah, sorry." She apologized with her face lightning up with embarrassment. Why exactly was she looking at him like that? Gosh!!! She cried out in silent. He watched her in pure amusement. Left for him, he would watch her all day without getting tired or bored.
"You look really tired dove. You mind me dropping you off?" He asked her. He was looking at her with an unreadable expression. His eyes were glued to her face as if he's studying every inches of her face.
"Thanks for the offer mister....." It was than that it occured to her that she didn't get his name. She was not even sure if he knew her own name. " But I already booked a suite here so going home is not an option.
Thanks though" she said with a friendly smile. She turned to leave but stopped when something crossed her mind. " And my name is Mia, not dove". She said rooted in her spot. She didn't get why she didn't just turn to go but stayed rotted in a place. She didn't even know why she was still there but maybe, she was waiting for something more.
"Mia Edwin. I know your name dove. I just chose to call you dove cause you're just like one". He said staring at her. There's something about the way he looks at her that makes her self conscious. The way his eyes stares at her like it's looking into her soul. The way he stared at her with interest...
"Well I don't like it. Call me my name or don't call me at all!!!" She replied him slightly annoyed. She didn't know if what he said was an insult or not and she was not going to ask. After all, what you don't know, won't kill you.
"What if I don't want to call you by your name? I'm not a fan of doing things the way everyone does them. I do like a name only I can call you". He said taking a step closer to her. His words and action cause her to take a deep shallow breath as she watched him and digested each and every word he said to her. "What then should I call you, princess?". She didn't know if he was asking for her permission to call her princess or if he already endorse and agreed to call her that. But either ways, he did have a point. She didn't know why, but the ideal of having him call him something sweeter than her name created this excitement in her belly.
"I.... princess is fine". She replied him, bending her face so he won't get to see the way her face changed to red due to her blushing state.
"Very well than my princess. I think your friends are heading over. I'll have to take my leave" he said as he turned to leave.
"Hold on!" She demanded. "What's your name?" She asked "what should I call you?" She inquiried.
He stopped in his track as he turned around to watch her. The right corner of his lips rising up and turning into a small smile. "Lorenzo mendez. You can call me anything you wish princess" he said with his eyes dancing with amusement and his face...she couldn't describe the expression on his face. It wasn't the serious or emotionless face but.....she just don't know what to call it.
"Lorenzo....." She called out as if testing the way his name sounded.
"Yes princess". He replied giving her one of his breathtaking half way smiles. They both stare at each other as if they were involved in a staring competition.
"Boss" luke's voice distracted the two of them and brought them back to the presence.
"Yes?" Enzo's annoyed voice asked impatiently.
"We've got to go. His back." Luke said with his head bent low as a sign of respect and loyalty.
"I know". Came Enzo's annoyed voice. He turned to Mia, took her hand in his and brought it to his lips and peck them. "I've got to go princess. We'll meet again, soon". He said still holding her arms. It felt like it was difficult for him to let go of her. They stared at each other for a little while before he turned and left. She couldn't do anything but to stare after him. "Lorenzo mendez?" She repeated the name of the demi God. Why does the name sound so familiar? Where have she come across such name before? She was pretty sure that she have never met him cause how she forget such a face as breathtaking as his?
"Who's the hottie you were with?" Ava's excited voice pulled her out of whatsoever inner thoughts she was having with her self. She looked up to be met with Ava's accusing glaze and right beside her was leo and his disappointed glaze and Ava's date.
"No one" she said looking any where but her friends faces. "Let's go, I'm exhausted". She quickly added before turning on her heels without waiting for a reply from them. Of course she knew they will be right behind her and if there weren't, they will definitely find their way.
