"Wrap it up, that will stop you from doing anything stupid to any good soul down where we are headed." Moon said.
Adam could finally see the System status panel of the fabric.
『Name: Lady Beatrice's excess Burial cloth.
Durability: 1000/1000
Description: Blessed with holy water prayed over by a catholic priest.』
"Beatrice. Imagine there was a Dante in this, we'd be fucked over." Adam said.
--
"You really can't be serious." Moon exclaimed as he looked around the dark surroundings in confusion.
The area was muddy still, covered in a sparsity of trees from place to place and along the right of them like some sort of wall and was only lit up by four large moon like bodies in the sky.
"Welp, the cave system is much further than I thought." Moon said again as he dropped the weapons he had and collapsed on the floor with his hands over his face in frustration.
Adam stood further back, holding tightly onto the wrapped up arm tightly as though he was scared someone would take it. His dark eyes were wider than usual and his pupils were extremely dilated. One would have thought he was intoxicated in some way.
Adam walked up to Moon and asked what was wrong while the other two former attackers made sure to keep their distance from him.
"The terrain seems to be different now. The large system of caves are probably much farther than I had originally thought, and we cant stay out here like this, especially with the other beasts still roaming about and that skinny bastard being active now." Moon said as he swished his finger in the mud trying to alleiviate his stress.
Adam still seemed relatively confused.
Moon took notice of this and sat up as he explained further.
"Noobs…" He sighed.
"So basically, The secret to not dying in this Scenario is to essentially find good shelter that can and will protect you from pretty much anything. There aren't that many areas like this, so its either hide and fight, or don't hide, fight and die. Since Kaizer and Vari haven't come back, that must mean they found something by now, or maybe the skinny bastard got to 'em…" Moon said to himself but went silent.
Then one of the former assilnants- Yohan- spoke up and said.
"The other guy said that he could create something called a Haven." He said to Moon.
Moon looked at Yohan and stared dead in his eyes although they were slightly obstructed by his straight brown hair over his eyes.
"The one the other bastard promised to take you too if you dumb fucks kill me!? Yeah, yeah. Trust the fucking bastard with half a brain cell to have a whole Haven before the game has even started and admit people into it based on who kills me… You all are dumb as fuck." Moon said as he stood up, adjusted the fastens he made on the fabric he wore and carried his weapon sack.
"No, but we really did see it. It was like a huge castle, jus in the middle of this wide empty grassy land." The other one said.
"Even if that were true- which it can't ever be- The stupid bastard has problems with me. We have to find another area, preferably before more Plague demon bastards arrive, and make a base there." Moon said as he signalled for the others to follow him.
"Is there a problem with that?" Adam asked as he played with the stiff claws of the beast, using it to scoop up the mud and toss it around. He was acting too child like.
"Yess there's a problem with that!! I am stuck with two level 4 newbies and a level 1 bastard jester!!! Those are three huge problems right there!!" Moon exclaimed and turned around raging.
Adam stayed silent as Moons scream snapped him out of whatever dopamine he was getting from acting a child.
"The problem there is that since im higher levelled, I can't make a Party with you three in it… Ergo, I cant carry you all and ergo!! I'll have to actually protect you and create the oportunites for you to level up myself!! I'm not up for baby sitting!!!" Moon exclaimed loudly and there was a brief rustle in the trees that caught everyones attention quickly.
The two unarmed assailants went behind Adam and Moon as moon set down the weapons and stayed on high alert.
Then a round ball like object popped up out the branches, followed by a whole body.
"Oh, it was Moon." The bald one; Vari from before said.
"Eh?" Moon turned his head and stared at his two mates hopping out the tree.
"Moon. I think your friends are here. Hehehe." Adam said as his pupils dilated so widely tha it looked like it was unhealthy and chuckled raspily, his recent changes disgusted Moon.
"Whats wrong with that bastard?" Kaizer said, pointing to Adam behind Moon.
Moon turned his head a little and just shook his head. "Just don't worry about that."
"First of all, you guys stay armed…" Moon said as he took down the fabric and loosened the knot. Kaizer and Vari stared at the two former assailants hanging behind not saying anything.
"You have yourself quite the weird crew, captain hook." Vari sarcastically said with a brief chuckle.
"Those two are too calm to be real. They claim that white haired bastard told them to come after me to get admitted into a Haven. They even tried to lure me there too. Probably a skill or something to be honest." Moon sad as he tossed a large and bulky Axe to Vari and then a Spear to Kaizer and then ripped up the fabric and tossed a few yards of it to his mates.
"Ahhhh. I see. That's fine. Its better to keep those ones alive so the white haired bastard doesn't send
more or come looking for us himself. You are still smart as shit, damn." Vari said as he spun his wrist around with the Axe in hand to try get used to the weight.
"Why are you guys here, I thought there were some cave things to hide out at." Adam said as he swung the skinny arm around like a child.
"Seriously, whats wrong with the blue jester?" Vari asked with a more concerned look on his face as he whispered into Moons ear.
"He's holding an item from the Lesser King of Plague. You know how continuos use of items like that force the production of Dopamine. Raw, unaltered happiness like that turns you into a dumbass and you make bad decisions and act weird. It's a really weird effect for items from Lesser Kings, I still don't understand it myself." Moon whispered back.
"He's still level 1 right? No wonder its this bad, If he gets to at least level 7 he should be able to control it to a reasonable degree. Right." Kaiser asked, with a wide smile of his face, he seemed amused and unamused by this almost at the same time.
"Well, yes. But that'll be hard, this game doesn't take kidly to level 1's even in the first Scenario." Moon said outloud. They all ignored Adams question and kept talking to try share information to make a better decision.
"I.m level 2 now for gods sake." Adam whispered under his breath.
--
"Oh yeah. We are in the wrong side of Area G. I was confused as fuck when "The land of Fog." Didn't have any goddamn Fog. We have to go even further down to the other side of the area just to get to the cave system. It's a six-day trip on foot, probably twelve if we try our best to avoid the mobs and maybe even longer if the other skinny plague bastard is here. And even if we survive that longand manage to get there, surely there would be other Parties already based there. Hostility is guaranteed, given we remain who we are." Kaiser said as he tried to hide his chuckle behind his palm.
"For fuck sake." Vari said in frustration.
"So we are really gonna die here…And if this shit is really really real, then we really really do die!!" Vari wailed out as he slammed the axe into the mud in a fit of rage.
"There has to be some other place we can set up base. The skinny bastard ran down south, meaning up north there are surely more of those rats and other Plague Disciples. We could risk it and go searching, I mean, we have weapons, and even that Jester already has a whole Devil Item that's made for Plague disciples. So we could risk it…" Moon said with a conflicted look on his face.
"You don't need to think that hard. The game might be hell, but theres always a way. Don't bust out your brain before we even get into the first Circle of hell now." Kaiser said as he pointed to a bright beam of light that just loudly erupted down towards the east.
"People. People with Skills already." Vari said with the smile still on his face.
Adam never really noticed how scary that unnatural smile looked.
