At the clearing in front of my small twig base, Isot and I sat down around a fire and talked as the raw meat was being cooked.
"So Isot, how much did you level up to?"
"Level 8, you?"
"Level 9."
"What engrams did you get?"
"I actually haven't checked, let me look."
"Ugh, wood structures, beds, and some other miscellaneous shit."
He changed the topic. "I saw a Triceratops yesterday. It did not try to attack me. Imagine if we could tame one of those."
I nodded. "I saw something about taming when I made a tribe. Let me see if I can find any information about it in the system."
He nodded and I turned to my system window.

{Input: How would a person like me go about taming?}
{Response: Well subject, the easiest way for most animals is to knock them out with laced arrows or something similar and then to feed your mana into them. You must have at least one level in mana sense and capacity though.}
{Input: Is there a necessary level to use them or tame them?}
{Response: You can only ride them with the applicable saddles, but once you have tamed them their mind will be linked to their tamers via a strand of mana and the animal will be forced to obey your subconscious commands to it.}
{Input: With only one level in each of those mana stats, how hard would it be to tame an animal?}
{Response: It depends on the level of the animal, but it would be unlikely and you would have wasted resources on it.}
{Input: Can this same method be used for Humans?}
{Response: Yes, it can be used for Subjects.}

I closed the window and then turned my eyes back to Isots'. "Have you invested in mana capacity or mana sense?"
"Neither, why?"
"To tame you need to knock the animal out and then use a strand of mana to conquer its mind. You can do the same thing with a person apparently."
He frowned and looked down into the flames roasting the meat. "You already pretty much control me like that don't you?"
I shrugged. "No, how much experience did you get when I killed that raptor? Would you have died if I had not been there? You will just have to trust that good things will follow where I go!"
He smiled and looked back towards my eyes. "That is fair. If you want my opinion about your base, I think it is nice, but we need to find a more defensible location and we need to get more people to join us. I actually did see a cave back far beyond the hill you found me atop, but there was something sleeping inside it."
My eyes widened. "That cave does sound interesting. I do also think that we need to recruit more individuals."
All of the meat had been cooked. We each ate three pieces and Isot stored all of his resources in the chest in my base.
After getting ready, I decided to travel through the woods and to the jungle where Isot had found his cave.
