Chapter 11 - chapter eleven awkward dance(1)

the fact that I danced with him mean nothing, she said and he seemed to calm down a bit.

Yeah,you better get that,he said.

and since you are with me,am asking for a dance,he added and she stiffened.

Seeing her dance with someone else was like a torn in his heart,as she smiled warmly while they danced and seemed to talk alot and was very comfortable with him.

and now he asked for a dance and she was giving him this weird look.

Come on let's go,he didn't wait for a reply anymore and dragged her to the dance floor when the next music was heard,it was a slow dance and there weren't much couples on the dance floor,so she was more hesitant.

"May I have this dance?" he asked, his voice laced with a mixture of vulnerability and determination.

Kiara's gaze met his, a flicker of surprise and uncertainty in her eyes. She hesitated for a moment, torn between the man who had shown her kindness and the vampire who had stirred something deeper within her. Finally, she nodded, and Sefra took her hand, leading her onto the dance floor.

As they began to sway to the music, a palpable awkwardness hung between them. Sefra's jealousy still smoldered beneath the surface, and Kiara, unaware of his inner turmoil, felt a sense of unease. Sefra's movements were somewhat jerky, his attempt to bring her closer to him seeming forced and unnatural.

She would feel him tense up at some point and then bring her closer to him before holding her waist tightly meanwhile Sefra who kept on looking around for that guy who danced with Kiara, whenever he caught sight of him and saw him looking at them,he would then show his possessive side by pulling her to him.

Kiara couldn't help but notice the strained expression on Sefra's face. The once-confident vampire now appeared vulnerable, his usual grace replaced by an uncharacteristic clumsiness. She wondered what had transpired within him to evoke such a change.

Sefra, aware of the eyes upon them, made a deliberate effort to bring Kiara closer to him. He maneuvered her gently, trying to convey a possessive stance without being too obvious. His gaze periodically flickered towards the man she had danced with before, ensuring he caught the intended message.

Kiara, sensing the shift in Sefra's behavior, felt a mixture of confusion and discomfort. She could see the play of emotions across his face—jealousy, protectiveness, and a hint of vulnerability. It was a side of him she hadn't fully witnessed before, and it both intrigued and unsettled her.

Their dance continued, a delicate balance between their unspoken desires and the tension that lay between them. Sefra's attempts to assert his presence gradually became less overt, as he realized the need to let go of his jealousy,it just didn't help as the guy didn't seem to care and just smiled,it made his blood boil,he soon thought of an idea and smirked.

As the music began to fade, Sefra looked into Kiara's eyes,he leaned in closer and she furrowed her brows in confusion.

what was he trying to do?, she thought.

He inched closer as the song drew to a close, she held her breath and her heart thudding in her chest but she couldn't let him do what ever it was he wanted to do.

At the end of it all Sefra was about to kiss Kiara when she moved back cautiously from him, eyes of many were already on them and now Kiara did this making it an embarrassing moment and worse of all the guy Kiara danced with witnessed it all.

He wanted to leave to hide the embarrassment, though no one spoke about it or brought it up,he couldn't help but feel embarrassed,Kiara on the other hand was suddenly hungry and started to stuff her face with food when someone joined her.

Luna right?,he said and she looked at him but couldn't reply as food was choked in her mouth, she gobbled down everything before she nodded.

I never really got to know your name, she said as she momentarily stopped eating.

It's David,he said with a smile and she responded with a smile and suddenly turned quiet, she thought this would tell him that she didn't want to talk anymore and just wanted to eat but he didn't take the clue and kept on talking to her which she responded without haste.

Your boyfriend was glaring daggers at me when you guys were dancing,he said suddenly changing the topic.

Boyfriend..,what boyfriend wait did he mean Sefra, she thought.

No no,he is not my boyfriend,he is..,she said and paused.

She couldn't tell him she was a warewolf who was held captive by a vampire who wouldn't let her go and that she had just lost her warewolf power and was only human,so was Sefra her boyfriend?.

He looked at her waiting to hear her response as she suddenly turned quiet.

well he is..my friend's...boyfriend...but since she couldn't make it,I came in place of her,she lied with a straight face and he didn't seem to detect anything.

well am glad I met you,he said and she felt her heart skip a beat.

umm..same here,I guess, she said and lowered her head,he was suddenly being called by his father and had to leave,so he took his excuse and left her to go meet his father.

Sefra who had gone missing after the incident suddenly came back and didn't wait anymore taking her straight home.

The moonlight bathed the dimly lit room as Sefra and Kiara returned to the safety of their sanctuary after the ball. The air crackled with an unspoken tension, the echoes of the night's events still reverberating within their minds. Sefra's frustration simmered just beneath the surface, his anger bubbling up as he remembered the embarrassment he had endured when he attempted to kiss Kiara.

Inside the confines of their home, the atmosphere grew heavy with an unspoken resentment. Sefra's typically calm demeanor had given way to a storm of emotions. He turned to face Kiara, his eyes filled with a mixture of hurt and frustration.

"Why did you embarrass me like that, Kiara?" he demanded, his voice laced with a hint of bitterness. "I thought we had something between us, but your rejection... it wounded me."

Kiara met his gaze, her own eyes flickering with a mix of anger and disappointment. "You can't just assume that I'll reciprocate your advances, Sefra," she retorted, her voice tinged with frustration. "I have my own agency, and I decide who I share my affections with."

The room seemed to crackle with tension as their words hung in the air. Sefra had become so consumed by his desire for Kiara that he had forgotten to consider her feelings, her autonomy. Kiara, on the other hand, had grown weary of Sefra's possessiveness, feeling suffocated by his expectations.
