I guess you're right,I tell the guards to go check for a house then we can analyse the houses that are not remote like this one,he said and she nodded.
I'll take my leave now,she said and stood up about to leave the room when sefra called her.
Kiara,he said and she turned back to look at him as he stood up and walked closer to her,he was taller than her so as he approached she looked up so she could see him.
well I was thinking if maybe you'll like to go out for dinner?,he asked as he stared at her confused facial expressions with his heart pounding.
You don't want to eat at home?,she asked innocently not knowing he had just asked her out on a date.
No..,I mean yes,we could eat outside tonight and..,he said and was about to explain further when she cut him short.
Maybe we could eat out tonight, she said and his heart fluttered as he hid a smile.
so be ready by 7,he said and she nodded before leaving the room.
She went back to her room and laid down on her bed, soon after she slept off, meanwhile Sefra was fidgeting he wanted everything to go perfect,he wanted the dinner to be perfect,no mess up.
The sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow across the horizon as Sefra and Kiara prepared for their evening plans. Sefra had made a reservation at an intimate restaurant, its ambiance offering the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. Though Sefra had invited Kiara out, he decided to keep his deeper feelings to himself for now, not wanting to overshadow the evening.
As 7 p.m. approached, Sefra arrived at Kiara's door, a small smile playing on his lips as he caught sight of her. She had taken care in her appearance, her hair cascading in loose waves and a touch of color gracing her lips.she looked casual but he couldn't help but admire her.
"You look stunning, Kiara," Sefra remarked, his voice filled with genuine admiration.
A faint blush adorned Kiara's cheeks as she smiled in response. "Thank you, Sefra," she replied, her voice carrying a mix of appreciation and shyness.
They made their way to the restaurant, the air filled with a sense of anticipation. Sefra held the door open for Kiara, a gesture of chivalry that didn't go unnoticed. They were led to a private table adorned with flickering candles, the soft glow creating an intimate atmosphere.
As they settled into their seats, the waiter approached, presenting them with the menu. Sefra and Kiara engaged in light conversation, discussing their preferences.
Throughout the meal, Sefra found himself captivated by Kiara—the way her eyes sparkled as she spoke, the gentle sway of her laughter. He couldn't help but be drawn to her, his feelings bubbling beneath the surface, yet he chose to savor the present moment, not wanting to disrupt the harmony of the evening.
Course after course arrived, each dish a testament to the culinary mastery of the chef. The flavors danced upon their tongues, a delightful symphony of tastes that added to the enchantment of the evening. Yet, as the night progressed, Sefra's desire to express his feelings grew stronger, mingling with the fear of potential rejection.
The dessert arrived—a decadent creation that melted upon contact with the tongue, leaving a sweet aftertaste. Sefra took a moment to gather his thoughts, his eyes fixed upon Kiara's, the flickering candlelight casting a soft glow upon their faces.
He watched as she closed her eyes savouring the taste of the dish and just watching her made his mouth watery.
"Kiara, I have to admit," Sefra began, his voice a gentle whisper. "Tonight has been extraordinary. Being in your presence brings me a sense of joy and calmness that I haven't experienced in a long time."
Kiara's eyes widened, her expression a mixture of surprise, she didn't want to reply because she didn't want him to confess his feelings to her and she didn't want to reject him,he was the reason for her family's death, thou she seemed comfortable around him sometimes, she didn't still forget what he did to her and it still haunted her making her not moving on with life.
Kiara's appetite waned as her thoughts consumed her, the taste of the unfinished meal turning bitter on her tongue. The conversation with Sefra at the romantic dinner had stirred a whirlwind of conflicting emotions within her. She knew deep down that Sefra's feelings were genuine, but the scars from the past were still fresh, making acceptance difficult.
As Sefra continued to speak, his words filled with warmth and vulnerability, Kiara felt her heart ache with a mix of longing and hesitation. She couldn't deny the connection they shared or the depth of his emotions, but the memories of her fallen packmates weighed heavily on her conscience. How could she accept the love of the one who had taken so much from her?
Fighting back tears, Kiara stood abruptly, her chair scraping against the floor. The sudden movement startled Sefra, concern etching his features.
"I... I'm sorry, Sefra," Kiara stammered, her voice trembling with a blend of regret and sorrow. "I can't... I can't stay here anymore. I need to go back .
Sefra's brows furrowed, his eyes searching hers for answers. He rose from his seat, placing a gentle hand on Kiara's arm, attempting to offer comfort in her time of distress.
"Kiara, what's wrong? Is it something I said?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
Kiara's gaze met Sefra's, tears welling in her eyes. "It's not you, Sefra," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "It's me. I can't... I can't accept your love. Not after what happened to my family."
Sefra's face fell, the weight of Kiara's words striking him deeply. He released his grip on her arm, giving her the space she needed. Pain flickered in his eyes, a mix of regret and understanding.
"I understand, Kiara," he replied, his voice filled with a sorrowful acceptance. "I cannot undo the past, nor can I erase the pain I've caused. I wish things were different, but I respect your decision."
As Kiara turned to leave, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken words, Sefra called out to her softly, his voice tinged with sadness"come one let's go".
They both went home and throughout the night was filled with silence.
The once vibrant evening had become a somber reminder of the complexities of love and loss.
As she arrived home, she went to her room, Kiara grappled with her decision, her heart torn between the connection she had felt with Sefra and the memories of her fallen packmates. The journey ahead would be one of self-reflection and healing, as she navigated the delicate balance between forgiveness and self-preservation.
