What if Azel couldn't fend all these assailant's off on his own? What if… what if they overwhelmed him and he ended up like Edward did that day?
"No…" Adelia muttered again, her grip even tighter at the back of Azel's tunic.
"Dia… calm down." Azel said softly, but there was a little urgency in his tone. Still, in her ears, his voice sounded almost distant. "Calm down and breathe, Dia. You're not breathing."
Adelia's mind raced; she hadn't heard a word he said.
Azel was strong, she knew, but the men here were nearly twice as many as the last time. There were more than ten of them and just one of him, even in her semi-delirious state, she could tell that the odds of him, of them, making it out of here alive were almost non-existent.
Her body trembled even more intensely and she quietly buried her head in Azel's back. His scent was soothing, but not soothing enough to calm her horrid thoughts.
