In a flying forest made entierly of glass, two young girls that looked like twins were digging a hole near the statue of a woman equiped with a sword and a shield.
For a long time, a very long time, the two young girls digged the dirt with their hands, hoping to uncover some hidden mysteries. Alice and Mirror both weren't talking, even though there was so much to tell to the other.
The relashionship beetween the two girl was really weird and hard to define. Alice was straight, so there was nothing like love beetween them. There weren't exactlty friends, because they litteraly met less than a day ago. They weren't really like sisters as well.
Alice and Mirror were just... allies. Allies that both knew the deepest and darkest secret of the other, because these secrets were the same.
After several hours of desesperate nonstop digging, when all hope seemed lost and the hole was deep and large, Alice saw somthing unusual in the dirt.
A glimpse of something bigger.
Both girls, excited, managed to (after several minutes of dire effort) pull out of the dirt the thing that Alice had seen.
It was a small chest made entierly of gold... or of something that looked a ton like gold.
The chest was easy to open, and Alice did so with sparkles in her eyes. Just like Alice, Mirror looked like she just got a christmas present.
The two girls weren't taking about it very much, but both of them were really beginning to feel the effect of not drinking for a long time. Dry lips, dry tongue, light headaches... For now, it wasn't a threat for their lives, but it could become one in just a few hours.
This situation obviously sucked, so any potential way of avoiding it was met with unconditionnal happiness from Alice and Mirror
Now that the chest was found, Alice was even thinking that maybe, just maybe, she might be able to get out of the forest alive.
Inside the chest, two things.
The first of these things was a really big key, which also looked like it was made of gold. Mirror picked it up instantly. The second item was a very old piece of paper on which were written a couple of words.
When Alice looked at this message, she noticed that only half of it, the bottom half, was written in english. The other half was written in a dialect she didn't knew, and with symbols she was unable to recognize.
"What is written here ?" asked Mirror, curious.
"You want me to read it ?"
"Yeah, why not."
Alice gazed at the lines written in english. The writting was quite hard to read, indicating that the message may have been made hurriedly.
She took a serious tone and begun reading the message to Mirror.
"Once, a really tall woman came to the City of Flowers. She was a stranger. Everyone in the City was praising the stranger immediatly after her arrival, and everyone expected her to become a hero capable of finding one of the seven.
At first, it was all good.
But something changed.
At some point, the stranger got scared of the power held by the black part of the Sky, so she ran away from the City of Flowers, and with the help of her powerful sorcery, she sold her own soul to create a perfect world, a world where no one could enter.
It was a truly beautiful world: a lively forest populated by a myriad of interesting beings, most notably a very gentle mirror created with the stranger's own blood.
The stranger lived happily in that world, years after years.
But sadly for the stranger, this happiness would prove to be temporary.
No part of the Sky could exist without being linked to another . Her whole paradise slowly but surely turned into a mix of dirt and glass, the animals died one after the other, and the gentle Mirror suddenly became mean.
Terrified, the stranger created a golden key to escape her own creation, but sadly this was too late. There was almost nothing left of her soul after creating the key.
The stranger feels it... her whole body is turning into glass. Death is all but inevitable.
The stranger miss Earth."
The message ended here.
Alice and Mirror stayed silent for a while. There was a lot to think about here, and most of the stuff said was quite unclear or felt too surreal to be true.
The City of Flowers... The black part of the Sky....sorcery...souls...
What was all this crap ?
This message raised more questions than answers, and it didn't even bother explaining where and how to use the key !
What's more, it probably wasn't written by someone of sound mind. Very few people like that talked about themselves using words like: "the stranger". The person writing was obviously a little bit crazy.
"Earth..."
Alice looked at Mirror before answering.
"Yeah... It didn't seem like we are the first people from Earth send here... I think that's why she refer herself as a stranger, by the way. She's from Earth and this... is definitly not our dear blue planet. "
"Yeah, all of that was pretty obvious. Still, I wonder... how many people from Earth were transported here ? Are some of them still alive ?"
"We have no way of knowing."
"I have another question... where the hell is this City of Flower ? We have explored all of this godamn forest, and we never found it !"
"I think it's not in the forest, Mirror."
"Then, where the hell can it be ?"
"In another part of the Sky, I guess. Whatever that means."
Mirror thought for a moment, and then spoke again.
"So...this statue was a human woman turned into glass ? It's her, the stranger ?"
Alice laughed. What Mirror was saying was truly ridiculous.
"People don't turn into glass, you know ?"
"People also don't cross mirror like they are some kind of portal."
"Fair point. But still. It's not because I witnessed one or two supernatural events that every supernatural thing written on an old piece of paper has truly happened. I only believe what I can see."
Suddenly, both Alice and Mirror heard a sound from their left, interrupting the ongoing discussion.
When they turned around, they both saw something dreadful.
A human being that looked exactly like the both of them was there, exept she had white hairs and red eyes. She was covered in blood, yet there was no sign she was injured on her body. In her right hand, she was holding a sharp-looking piece of glass.
When she opened her mouth, the voice that got out of it was clearly making fun of them.
"Hello ! Sorry to ruin your fun, but I simply cannot allow copies of me to go around everywhere. So, huh, I'm going to kill you. Nothing personal."
