Chereads / The Seven Weapons / Chapter 5 - 5/Tears of Anger

Chapter 5 - 5/Tears of Anger

When she heard the voice of the white-haired Alice, Mirror moved instantly. In less than a second, she was already beetween Alice and the white-haired girl.

"Who are you ? What do you want ?"

"Alice, that's who I am. As for what I want... it's your lives."

Mirror opened her mouth, trying to ask another question, but it was too late to talk.

The white-haired monster was already rushing towards the two young girls with a sharp-looking piece of glass in her right hand.

The girl holding the piece of glass was fast , but Mirror was ready. She avoided the attack with ease, and punched her opponent's face with all of her strenght.

The white-haired Alice stumbled, disoriented by the sheer power of Mirror's fist.

She coughed blood.

Mirror rushed towards her opponent, this time kicking her solar plexus. The body of the white-haired Alice flew several for meters before akwardly landing near one of the glass trees.

She got back on her feet, seriously injured.

"What... what the hell is this strenght..."

Mirror smiled.

"You look pretty weak, for a person who killed someone."

Alice, the normal one, frowned. What was Mirror talking about ? Who had the white-haired Alice killed ?

Alice remembered the first time she saw the white-haired clone, back when the strange mirror reapaired itself. She remembered that there was blood on her clothes at the beginning of the fight, before Mirror even hit her. A blood that was probably not her own.

And then, she connected the dots.

There were at least four Alice now: the original Alice, Mirror, miss white hairs, and Alice's second reflection. Assuming there were only four Alice, which could be wrong, then there was only one person that could have been killed.

Her second reflection, the one that appeared after Mirror got through the mirror.

If Alice's guess was true, then the white haired girl wasn't just a person who threatened to murder her and her... allie.

She was already a killer.

Alice got distracted when she saw that the person that was probably a killer was moving towards her. Apparently, she thought that Alice was easier to kill than Mirror.

Alice saw the improvised weapon made of glass approaching her throat.

It would be so easy to just... die. Here. Right now.

No more mysteries, no more thirst, no more weird flying forest, no more people getting turned into glass, or reflection passing though mirrors like it's nothing.

No more of that nonsense. Just the calm peace given by death.

Alice blocked the sharp piece of glass with her right arm.

She felt pain.

She bled.

But she was alive.

Her agressor cursed, before violently hitting her. Alice fell on the ground.

But, before any real damage was dealt, Mirror was here. The white haired girl hurriedly retreated, narrowingly avoiding a powerful strike.

"Alice ! Are you okay ?"

Alice looked at Mirror. Why was she so worried about her ? There was definitly something suspicious about that, thought the young girl. If the situation were reversed, Alice would have priorotized fighting the attacker rather than checking on her... allie.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

At this point, taking advantage of the fact that Mirror was focused on Alice and not on her, the white haired demon kicked her from behind.

However, Mirror, unfazed by the surprise attack, immediatly replied by grabbing both shoulders of her opponent, and knocking her on the ground.

Then, Mirror begun hitting her opponent.

At first, the white-haired crazy Alice tried to break free, to guard herself from Mirror's fists... but this was all useless. Mirror wouldn't budge, and she was in such an advantagous position trying to fight back or even defend.

Under the reapeated pain, she begun crying, and begging for the beating to stop.

But Mirror refused to stop.

She continued hitting the face of her defensless opponent despite the cries of pain.

Slowly, the face of the white-haired girl begun to turn into something hideous and unrecognizable. Alice watched, unaffected by the sheer violence of what Mirror was doing. She even took the time to remove the piece of glass stuck into her flesh, gritting her teeth to resist the pain she was feeeling. Mirror herslef, meanwhile, was crying tears of rage, screaming of anger.

At some point, the body of the white-haired Alice stopped moving entierly, and she stopped crying and screaming. But Mirror didn't stop there. She continued, hit after hit.

At some point, Alice touched Mirror's shoulder with her left hand.

Mirror turned her head towards Alice.

"I think that's enough."

"No ! You don't understand ! She.. She was trying to kill us ! Why should I stop Alice ! Why should I stop !"

"Because she's already dead."

Mirror looked at the dead body below her, not quite believing what Alice just said. But sadly, Alice was right.

Of the white-haired Alice face, there was not much remaining. Her skull was broken, her brain was out in the open, her eyes were nowhere to be seen. There was no more nose, ears or lips, rather, a patchwork of flesh that was extremly ugly, and one would feel disgust just by looking at this strange patchwork.

It didn't look like someone had hit her to death, the scene was way too gruesome for that. And yet... that was really what had happened.

"I'm... a killer ?"

Mirror couldn't quite belive how far she had gone. It wasn't a cold and calculated kill. Mirror had never planned to go that far. Yet, she had.

Alice felt that Mirror was panicking, so she did the same thing she did after Mirror hit her. Talk as if everything was fine.

"Yes, you're a killer now. Don't worry though. The nearest jail is probably very far away, and I doubt there is any sort of laws in that place anyway."

"It's not about law, you dumbass ! It's just..."

"It's what ? You're worried about morals, Mirror ? Come on ! She was trying to kill us, and that alone make what you did justified. I really don't get you, sometimes."

Mirror thought for a bit, before answering.

"Maybe you're right, but... I don't know how to explain how I feel. Perhaps, if you kill someone one day, you might understand..."
