[Congratulations for completing the side quest "save Kenichi"!]
[Congratulations for obtaining 30 coins!]
[Congratulations for defeating Taichi toga and 5 of his subordinates!]
[Congratulations for obtaining 100 coins!]
As soon as I came back home I laid down and received the rewards from completing this side quest.
Everything was the same as usually but there was something that caught my eye, not only did I complete this side quest by saving kenichi but I also finally completed the main quest.
I'm not sure how I managed to make Sasaki acknowledge me but he finally did. I finally got acknowledged by all the masters of the Ryozanpaku dojo.
[Congratulations for completing the main quest "A true disciple"!]
[Congratulations for obtaining 100 coins!]
[Congratulations for obtaining 30 F class chests!]
[Congratulations for upgrading the system!
Version 1.0 is now available!
Congratulations for unlocking the world traveling and world quest function!]
[Congratulations for unlocking the version 1.0. A random E rank world quest will be generated as a reward!]
[Congratulations for unlocking the final version of the human system! A special job will be awarded to the host!]
Finally! It seems like the version 1.0 of the system is the most important one, the system is finally completed.
'Wait? Does that mean I the shop will no longer be updated?' As soon as this thought entered my mind the system automatically replied.
[The shop will no longer update through normal means, the main quests will no longer exist. The main quests and current shop was generated thanks to the last bits of power given by the creator of the system. Now that the system reached version 1.0 that energy is exhausted.]
That made way more sense since now I finally had an answer to one of my questions, I couldn't understand how the system was able to endlessly make me so much stronger but now it all made sense.
Though in itself that gave me way more questions I was curious about. 'System, why couldn't Adam just directly pass on that power to me instead of making me succeed in quests?'
[The creator of the system made it clear that if the host wanted to grow stronger and succeed in his final mission he would need to put in efforts on his own and shouldn't rely on the creator's legacy. That's why the quests were created, to encourage the host in meddling with other people's fate and earn karma.]
'Karma?" That notion wasn't unknown to me since I did remember Adam mentioned it during our short meeting but I couldn't tell why I would need it or what it actually meant. All I know is that it dictates where you will go in the afterlife.
[Karma is the highest form of energy in the multiverse. The system gets its energy from karma and that's how the quests and rewards are generated.]
'And how am I supposed to earn that karma? I've never learnt about it in the past' the more I heard the system talk the more confused I became.
[Karma is generated by interfering with people who have a high amount of karma or fate energy, actions who have a big impact on fate also generate a high amount of karma which will in turn be used by the system to strengthen itself and its host.]
I finally understood what the system actually was, all that strength and all those perks didn't come out of nowhere. 'So now I can only get stronger with side quests?'
[Side quests can earn a little bit of Karma for the host but the true source of Karma which can replace and surpass main quests would be the world quests.]
'What's the world quests exactly?' I could guess a bit just by hearing the name but I knew that hearing the system's explanation would be more beneficial.
[The world quests are the main purpose of the human system. The system was created by Adam with the purpose of saving humanity in different worlds and universes. The world quests are quests in which the mission is to save humanity in a designated world.]
'Is it possible to receive side quests inside a different world?' I was also curious about that since the side quests I've been receiving were a huge source of coin income.
[Yes. But the higher the difficulty level of the world the higher the difficulty and rewards of the side quests will be.]
"Heh sounds like a pain in the ass" I sighed out loud. Well it seems like I finally have to stop slacking off and start doing my work. At first I thought that I would just have to enjoy myself in this new world and at some point even forgot about Adam's task.
I've been using those past 2 months as a vacation and even chose the cooking skill and used 100 coins on my height because all I had in mind was my personal comfort but now was the time for me to complete my side of the deal.
I did accept to do that when I received the system and I wasn't planning on complaining since I knew that was already way better than my old life, all I remember of my old life is that I was sick most of the time and all I was allowed to do was focus on my studies.
Now that I finally had the chance to live my dream and become a free man I didn't mind taking up the role of humanity's guardian.
'Show me my new job.' I was curious about what the reward for completing the system might be.
[Job: "Adam's successor"
Description:
A job obtained by completing the final version of the human system and taking up the responsibility of saving humanity.
Perks: receiving the unique F rank skill "Eyes of the Lord"]
'The Eyes of the Lord??? That's way more crazy than I thought' I knew becoming Adam's successor would give me many great perks but I for sure wasn't expecting such a great one.
I didn't think any longer and clicked on my new skill to satisfy my curiosity.
[Eyes of the Lord (unique) (Rank F/ lvl 1)
Description:
F Rank:
Allows the user to improve his own skills level by a little when observing another person use it. The improvement will depend on the level of the skill.
Exp required for level up: 10exp
Current exp: 0/10
Upgrade: unlocked at lvl 100]
As excepted from a unique skill given to me by Adam himself. It's one hell of a cheat skill even at F Rank. It would help me raise the level of any of my skills without even having to actually practice it. I could gain exp just by watching others. It seems like this will be my last gift from Adam before I start my own independent journey.
That new skill was already enough to make my mood a thousands of times better. But there was still something else I was curious about.
I opened the shop and looked through all the new objects. There were some useful new skills and many new objects such as weapons and accessories with special effects though most of those were either useless or too expensive. But what caught my eyes the most was none other than the world quests I was able to buy.
[Shop
F Rank items:
Random F rank world quest: 10/10 available. Cost: 100 coins.
E Rank items:
Random E rank world quest. 3/3 available. Cost: 1.000 coins.
D Rank items:
Random D rank world quest. 1/1 available. Cost: 10.000 coins.
Balance: 230 coins]
The prices is what caught my attention the most. The only thing I could afford would be an F rank world quest. But those are probably worlds which are way too weak to attract my attention, I wasn't planning on going to another romcom world.
Luckily the reward for completing the version 1.0 of the system is an E rank world quest. That much was already worth 1.000 coins.
I was pretty curious about what this world quest might look like so I went to check the notification I received earlier.
[Does the host wish to open the Random E rank world quest.]
[Yes] [no]
'Yes'
[World quest:
High school of the dead. (Universe 3G429/ world 426)
Difficulty: E
Description:
In this parallel universe to the high school of the dead base universe, the heroes are all fated to die early on which would in turn condemn humanity. Save them and bring them to the Takagi estate to complete the quest.
Reward: upgrade of the shop.
100 coins for every main character saved.
Additional 10 coins for every side character saved.]
[Do you wish to accept the world quest and travel to universe 3G429/ world 426?]
[Yes] [no]
So that's what those world quests look like? An E rank world quest look even more interesting than a D rank main quest. That's promising.
'System, what will happen once I accept the quest? Will the time here stop?' I needed to know more about about those world quests before making any plan.
[Once a quest is accepted the host will be sent in that other world. The time in this world won't stop. In the future it would be possible to purchase and gain time altering items you could use on the base world while on a quest, or even a time stopping item once the host reach a very high level. ]
'So the time here won't change for now? Actually, would that world always stay as my base world?' I didn't dislike this place, but I was curious about what future possibilities there might be. I did like my little habits I had with Kenichi and Shu but my dream was still for me to live alone on a deserted peaceful island.
[It is also possible for the host to make another world into his base world thanks to an item which will be unlocked in the future.]
'Well that's for the future then, For now I shouldn't worry about those things.'
I decided to postpone accepting the quest for a bit until I fix a few things in this world and train a bit more. Since that high school of the dead world is condemned to extinction it means there's something different from the world I knew and I'm not confident enough with my current strength.
For now I put those worries in the back of my mind and opened the 30 F class chests I received as a reward that was the thing I've been waiting for since earlier.
[10× energy replenishers]
[12× 1000 yen]
[4× 100 skill exp]
[1× small endurance amplifier]
[1× small intelligence amplifier]
[1× small charisma amplifier]
[1× small strength amplifier]
Once again the rewards were more than satisfying, I managed to gain 4 new stats as well as 400 exp. That's something that would've took me way too long if not for the system.
I didn't think any longer and immediately used the stats amplifier on myself.
[Endurance: 20-> 21
Intelligence: 17-> 18
Charisma: 14-> 15
Strength: 12-> 13]
Now I still had 400 skill exp I could use. I could use it on my footwork skill which is already at lvl 25 and try to make it reach level 40 but now that I got a new unique skill I couldn't help but want to prioritize it so I used all 400 skill exp on the eyes of the Lord.
[Eyes of the Lord: level 1 -> level 19] With that I'm sure that it would already be pretty useful even if it's still only an F rank skill.
Before going to sleep I took one last look at my status window.
[Status:
Name: Amon Daisetsu
Age: 15 yrs old
Title: "Enemy of love (B)" "angel(F)"
Job: "student of Bonyari high school"/ "ryozanpaku disciple"/"Adam's successor"
Stats:
Strength: 13 (+2)
Speed: 12 (+2)
Endurance: 21 (+2)
Dexterity: 14 (+2)
Intelligence: 18 (+2)
Charisma: 14 (+3)
Unique skills: Eyes of the Lord (Rank F/ lvl 19)
Skills: Cooking (Rank F/ lvl 32)/Footwork (Rank F/ lvl 25)/ Calligraphy (Rank F/ lvl 11)/
Balance: 230 coins ]
Looking at my new status window, I couldn't help but smile a little, it was my first time really being satisfied with my stats and skills. Alongside the 230 coins I had I knew that it was possible for me to actually challenge the E rank world quest, but I still chose to stay cautious.
I will fix everything in this world and once it's done I'll accept the world quest.
