Chapter 19 - CHAPTER 19: Rapture

Kingdom of Agatus

Before the attack on the kingdom…

The castle

King Mugus was pacing from one place to another, as he held his chin and lost in his thoughts.

A few days ago, he visited the three witches, which was a secret he had kept from his family and the people of Agatus.

It was a secret that had kept the kingdom safe and peaceful for so many years. He had secretly sacrificed a few of his people to the witches and in return, his kingdom was spared from a great misfortune.

The reason for his worry was his disagreement to offer more people as a sacrifice to the witches.

He was scared of the consequences that may come and for some reason, he wasn't ready to face it yet.

A knock on the door alerted him and he positioned himself and permitted the person to come in.

King Mugus

(Slightly annoyed)

"Tagus what seems to be the problem for you to visit my chambers at this hour"

Tagus

(Concern)

"My king, you have been in your chambers for days"

King Mugus

(Startled)

"Days!!" I didn't realize"

King Mugus was surprised, he didn't realize how absent-minded he was and sighed.

Tagus

(Concerned)

"My king if there is any problem, know you can talk to me"

King Mugus

(Fidgeting)

"There is nothing wrong Tagus, you may leave if there is nothing important to report"

Tagus knew there was something wrong with his King, but he couldn't push further due to their status.

He bowed and turned to leave.

"For going against our command, you and your kingdom shall face our wrath"

"hahaha," an evil laugh echoed in King Mugus' ears as he remembered the warnings of the three witches a few days ago.

His anxiety came running through his head again and he felt his soul leaving his body. He was scared and feared the worst.

He stopped Tagus before he could reach the door.

King Mugus

(Breathing heavily)

"Gather the knights and be alert for any intrusion"

He noticed Tagus wanting to ask a question but raised his hand for him to hold his tongue.

"There is no need for unnecessary questions Tagus, please do as I say"

He nodded and left in haste to the knights.

Unfortunately for King Mugus, what he feared most became his reality, for his Kingdom was about to be lavished by demons.

The children play around with no worries or care in the world, fathers and mothers work tirelessly at the farms, and craftsmen's hands never rest.

The air was smooth and steady, caressing the clothes of women passing by and the sun being clouded by the thick cloud.

It was a beautiful day and a day meant for having fun and resting as the sun dies down.

A sudden unwelcome smell spreads through the kingdom, and a dark cloud of dust falls from the sky.

A child on her mother's lap spread its arms to welcome a tiny black stardust in her palm and asked;

"Mama, look it's a star, but aren't stars supposed to be bright? , why is this star dark?"

It was unusual, and so the mother was unable to answer and rather looked up, and to her dismay the sky had turned dark.

"Ahhhh", a woman screamed….

The gate of the kingdom was breached, and the bell rang, announcing an intruder was in the kingdom.

The once safe and peaceful kingdom was now filled with chaos and terror. The long and strong gate fell and demons came with twisted forms and their eyes glow with an unholy light.

Tagus and the knights' faces were etched with terror, for they were not expecting this attack, and yet still, Tagus felt a sense of duty and responsibility, called onto his knights.

Tagus

(Ordered)

"Knights protect the kingdom like it's your last,

ATTACK!!!

The knights, skilled warriors clad in armor, raised their swords and etched with determination and matched to face their enemies.

The sound of clashing swords and screams reverberated through the air and finally, the KING let go of his fear and came out of his chambers.

But his courage was met with a gruesome atmosphere, his face etched with fear as well as determination.

Watched as his knight fought valiantly, he brandished his sword and rallied his royal knights not to give up and defend the kingdom.

The humming of an unknown guest echoed around the kingdom, halting the movement of everyone, including the demons.

"Yes, this is the sight I was looking for, terror and chaos, hahaha," said a man with horns on his forehead, and his eyes glowing like an unquenched flame.

"Dragonus don't scare them, look at them they are terrified and I like it", a silver-haired man said with an evil grin on his face.

The king and his royal knight felt their knees tremble at the sight of the three guests. Their aura was different from the demons attacking them.

They knew they were on a different level but that didn't stop their determination and were more ready to fight back.

Tagus

(Startled)

"I thought they were myths, but here they are THE ELITE DEMONS."

Dragonus

(Command)

"Comrade, leave no stone unturned"

THE ELITE DEMONS fought alongside the demons, stealthy and deadly, moved with supernatural speed and grace, their twisted forms adorned with dark, razor-sharp claws and dagger-like fangs.

They strike from the shadows as the sky gets darker and darker, their attacks swift and merciless. Screams of the people echoed as their throats, arms, and head were cut off and drenched in their blood.

The Knights' swords clashed against the demon's dark weapons. Their faces were a mix of fear and determination as they fought alongside their king in a fierce battle.

They fought with every strength and zeal they had but the ELITE DEMONS seemed to multiply, their numbers overwhelming.

Amidst the chaos, Adea and Jareth searched for their daughter who seemed to be missing. The silver-haired man caught the attention of the king and the knights, his resemblance traced back to Adeline.

A group of innocent citizens huddled in a corner, their faces filled with terror as Dragonus appeared before them and before they could scream for help, he raided them with fire from his mouth and burnt them to ashes.

"NO!!!!!

King Mugus' eyes widened as he watched his people die mercilessly and ran toward them,

Filled with rage he matched towards Dragonus but unbeknownst to him, it was a trap set for him.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks, willingly took his sword, and aimed it at his neck. He trembled at the thought of him killing himself.

Tagus and the knight were horrified by what they were seeing.

"Asmodeus is at his tricks," the silver-haired said with a grin on his face.

"Slit your throat, kill yourself now, your people are dying and you can not do anything about it so do them a favor and die and all this pain and suffering will end" whispers in the King's ear as he tried to resist.

Unfortunately, it was stronger than him and before his knights and family could get closer, his hand worked faster and slit his neck with the sword.

Blood came splashing as he fell to his knees.

NO!!!

His knights screamed as they watched their king's lifeless body on the ground. One by one, the knights were slated by the demons.

The bloodshed was overwhelming…

Tagus was the last man standing and fell to his knees.

Adeline and Lucian arrived and witnessed Tagus being burnt by Dragonus flames.

Adeline's eyes widened as she saw a man with silver hair just like hers cut her father and mother into two with a gigantic sword.

"Mother, Father!!!"

She screamed, drawing the attention of the three Elite demons towards them. Lucian's eyes met with the three demons and immediately turned away.

"RUN ADELINE"

"No, my mother and father need me, I need to help them" she opposed.

Lucian didn't waste time and took to his heels, upon running away he stopped and turned back and saw Adeline pathetically running towards the kingdom gate.

"No Lucian, do not go back for her, she is not your responsibility, just leave" Lucian whispered to himself.

Unfortunately, he couldn't resist his body wanting to save the girl he believed he hated and ran towards Adeline.

He grabbed her and ran before the three demons could get to her. Lucian was very fast, he was known for his speed throughout the heavenly realm.

They hid in the forest which was protected by a god and therefore demons could not enter.

Lucian was breathing heavily, for the first time he feared for his life more than anything. He knew those three demons were out of his league.

He wasn't as strong as he used to and so if he were to fight them, he wouldn't come out alive. He kept thinking and whispering to himself and did not notice Adeline charging.

Adeline's body trembled with a mixture of raw rage and concentrated energy. Her eyes glowed with fierce intensity as bolts of lightning and thunder crackled and danced around her and shook the ground.

Finally, Lucian's attention was captured, the air was charged with electrifying waves creating an atmosphere of both danger and awe.

"Raul is here," Lucian said as he turned, and to his surprise, the energy emitted was coming from Adeline. He was bewildered and he couldn't come closer to her else he would be caught in the waves.

Her breathing became heavy and labored, her muscles taut with tension as she channeled her anger into a potent force. She tightened her grip on the ground.

With her face facing the ground, she screamed and an enormous power cracked the earth, shaking everything that stood its way.

Lucian was blown away and for a moment he felt a power second to Raul's or possibly a power that surpasses his.

And he wasn't the only one who felt it, the demons felt it and they shivered, believing there was a god or guardian nearby and so they fled leaving the Kingdom with dead bodies in a pool of blood.

The four Kingdoms felt her power but were unaware of where it came from. So were the genies and the witches, they feared the power that shook the earth.

Heavenly realm…

gods and guardians gathered at Raul's residence, in need of answers. They felt the power of Adeline and believed it was Raul's.

Kirrinoth, Kali, and Paxive barged into his chambers and questioned him.

Kali

(Angered)

"How dare you released such power"

Kirrinoth

(Slightly angry)

"What are you trying to prove here Raul, you are no longer a royal guardian, so why?"

Paxive reserved his questions, inwardly he felt the power was not coming from Raul.

Raul

(Defends)

"It wasn't me, father is my witness, whoever released that power wasn't me"

Kirrinoth

(Annoyed)

"That is impossible, you are the only one who can release that kind of power, not even an impersonator can release that power.

Raul

(Angry)

"I am telling you it's not me and if you are insinuating my son is involved, you are wrong, he had been with me all this time"

Kali

(Sternly)

"So if it's not you then who is strong enough to release this power"

"Someone strong enough to face us four" Paxive stated.

A disturbing silence filled the room…..
