KING EDMOND
(Angry)
"You broke promise, knight, you may be the victor but you don't deserve to be among my knight as you have deceived us all"
Prince Kael wasn't pleased with his father's words but reserved his words for her knowing the knight had broken his promise.
Silver
(Apologised and revealed)
"My apologies King, but I never broke my word. I said I knight protects not kill. He deceived everyone, he wasn't fighting fair, and killed his opponents by using poison to weaken their vision and body"
Silence erupted throughout the arena.
"That is not possible, everyone was examined " Amos defended.
"You may examine the body if you still have doubts" she requested.
Amos took a step closer to Jav's body and his widened and he covered his nose and mouth to avoid the toxic emitting from the body.
He nodded at the King. The crowd was astonished and suddenly cheered her on.
Amos
(Fierce)
"Yet still it doesn't explain why you used your sword"
Silver
(Explained)
"A knight protects a kingdom from any threat, he was a threat to the kingdom, what if he had won and decided to spread the poison, I had no choice but to end his life"
The crowd cheered her on and so was the king, he was undoubtedly marveled by her but that wasn't what shocked the arena.
Silver decided to reveal her true self as he took off her helmet and the black cloth off her face and her beautiful silver hair came down on her shoulder.
"I-t she and s-she have sliver hair, how is that possible, she is cursed" the crowd was in an outburst.
"Silence" Amos commanded.
Amos
(Angry)
"You deceived us yet again woman"
ADELINE
(Serious)
"I didn't deceive anyone, you all assumed I was a man because I was in armor, but now I reveal myself I am a deceiver. I want everyone here to know of me, I am Adeline, the only survivor of the once peaceful kingdom Agatus which fell at the hands of strangers.
The crowd whispered among themselves, the king almost fell on his knee and held his seat firmly.
"Agatus" he whispered to himself as he watch his son whose eyes were fixed on Adeline. He remembered the words of the genie who cursed him.
His son was born with a weak heart and he had kept it for himself, only his wife and he knew of this secret and so they did everything possible to keep him from harm's way.
Especially from his siblings' claws. "Finally the time has come, my son's protector" he voiced out surprising his son.
He smiled and stared at his people who kept judging and saying all sorts of things. They wanted Adeline to be disqualified but unbeknownst to them the king had something in mind.
KING EDMOND
(Commanded and instructed)
"Silence, I do not wish to be interrupted, remember this day my people, she may be a woman but she has proved far beyond everything a male knight can do.
I hereby declare that as of this day, Adeline of Agatus will serve as a royal knight of the Kingdom and the personal knight of my son Prince Kael".
His speech took everyone by surprise but no one could oppose and so they cheered on. His son was surprised but inwardly he was happy to have Adeline as his knight.
Adeline stood at the center of the arena, dumbfounded, she wanted to be a knight of the kingdom but never expected to be the personal and royal knight of the prince.
Suddenly she smiled widely and breathed in the air that surrounds the arena. The people began to leave after the king and his family left.
Amos was no more upset with her, he smiled at her and left. She sighed and said to herself.
Adeline
(Proud)
"Can you see this LUCIAN, I made it without you"
The air danced along with her victory as soon after she became a legend known as the Silver-haired Agatus, the protector of the future king of Amira, Prince Kael.
A few days later…
Adeline POV
After announcing to everyone in the kingdom that I was the prince's protector, I figured sooner or later they would call me, and just as I thought I was called into the king's court.
The other knights weren't as welcome g as I thought. I do understand though, I am a woman and I have been given a responsibility that other knights had been dying for.
The truth is I wasn't expecting to be chosen, all I wanted was to be a royal knight and fight alongside Amos the undefeated knight in the kingdom.
I reached the long door to the king's hall and waited to be permitted in.
The knights signaled to enter. I walked majestically with my head down until I reached a few steps away from the throne on which the king sat.
KING EDMOND
(ordered)
"Raise your head"
I did as I was told and raised my head, to my surprise he has want alone. The prince was with him.
KING EDMOND
(softly)
"You must still be in shock, I will understand if you reject the offer but I will still advise you to think it over. It's an opportunity that any knight will lose their head for".
I knew he would say something like that, persuade me to take responsibility and own up to something for the greater good of the people.
"I am pleased to be in your presence my King, I do not wish to withdraw from my quest. I was just not expecting such responsibility, one, I am a woman, secondly, I am from a lost Kingdom.
I have nothing to my name and my appearance, makes it impossible to trust me so may I ask why me"
Prince Kael smiled and spoke before his father.
PRINCE KAEL
(Admired)
"Because your eyes never lied, I could see how pure and kind you were through every stroke you took. Your determination and will be a knight who saves lives made me realize how lucky this kingdom would be to have a knight like you"
Adeline couldn't believe her ears, it was the first time in her life that someone had praised her for her good work. She held her tears in order not to look weak.
KING EDMOND
(Praised)
"Just as my son said, you are the first knight after Amos, who I can trust to keep this kingdom and my family save even when I am no more"
Prince Kael wasn't pleased with his father's words and so he scolded him.
PRINCE KAEL
(slightly angry)
"Father please do not speak such words, you are not going anyway, I am not ready to be king yet, there are so many things I want to leave before I become king"
KING EDMOND
(softly)
"I told you before that you will become a great king one day and my death it's inevitable"
Their little quarrel brought back some memories of the past which I thought had forgotten.
They suddenly stopped and turned their attention to me. The King cleared his throat and spoke.
KING EDMOND
(instructed)
"You will live in the castle so you can protect my son at all times and if there is anything you need just ask the maidservants and other knights to assist you"
I bowed and asked to take my leave but stopped in my track and asked.
"I plead with the king not to be offended by my questions. I would kike to know why no one came to our aid when we need them"
KING EDMOND
(saddened)
"I was waiting for that question to pop up but you said nothing and so I assumed you won't. Honestly, we had no idea of the kingdom being attacked when I got to know it was too late"
"Alight, thank you for answering my question, I will take my leave now"…..
After the meeting, I packed my things and headed to the castle and there my journey of becoming a legend began.
Present….
On a dreary and rain-soaked day, Prince Kael had to leave early without his knight and took a few knights with him as they visited a neighboring kingdom.
They had been on the road for hours due to the rain. The sound of raindrops pitter-pattering against leaves filled the air as a group of knights, led by their beloved prince, through the dense forest because it was the shortest route they found.
Unbeknownst to them the forest was filled with bandits, who were known as the PATHWALKERS, they hid in the thick forest and attack their prey, steal their belongings, and spread it to the poor people in their respective kingdoms.
The mission of the knights was to escort the prince to the Kingdom of Damascus to meet their new king.
The knights, their armor glistening with rainwater, formed a protective circle around the prince as they navigated the treacherous terrain. The forest seemed to whisper with danger, but their determination remained unyielding.
With each step, the knights' senses were heightened, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of an ambush. The rain poured down relentlessly, making the path slippery and treacherous. But the knights pressed on, their loyalty to their prince unwavering.
As they made their way through the dense foliage, a sudden rustling sound sent a wave of tension through the group. The knights tightened their grip on their swords, ready to defend their prince at a moment's notice.
Out from the shadows emerged a pack of bandits, their eyes gleaming with malice. They outnumbered the knights, their intentions clear to capture the prince and claim a hefty ransom. The rain intensified, adding to the sense of urgency and danger.
The knights were overpowered by the bandits. The leader took the lead and grabbed the prince by the hand and pulled him closer to him.
The prince was taller but skinny with bronze hair, and his brown eyes revealed his fear and worry.
PRINCE KAEL
(Serious)
"Do not hurt my knight or El..."
THE LEADER
(yelled)
"You are in no position to order us around, now move"
The knights didn't give up yet and without hesitation sprung into action, swords clashed against daggers as the knights fought with unwavering determination. Rain-soaked armor added weight to their movements, but it did not dampen their spirits.
The leader tightened his grip on Prince Kael's wrist and dragged him along but was stopped by a knight who held a sword to his throat.
He blocked it with his dagger so fast that knight fell back. Prince Kael, though unaccustomed to such combat, tried his best to release himself from the leader's grip and fortunately was able to.
He pushed the leader off him and stood behind the knight who shielded him but he had lost his sword to the leader.
As the battle raged on, the leader had the knight's sword, he smiled and attempted to strike them both.
Suddenly, thunder reverberated through the stormy night as The legend unknown throughout the realm, Adeline the silver haired knight of Prince Kael, spurred her trusty steed forward.
The rain lashed against her armor, drenching her to the bone, but her determination burned brighter than ever. Her prince's life hung in the balance, and she would not falter.
As Sir Gareth thundered through the muddy terrain, her steed's hoovered splashing through puddles, she caught sight of the bandit leader, her hand raised high, poised to strike down the defenseless prince.
Time seemed to slow as the her instincts took over, fueled by her unwavering loyalty and love for her prince.
With a swift and fluid motion, Adeline reached for her quiver, her fingers closing around an arrow. She notched it onto her bow, drawing the string back with precision and strength.
The raindrops cascaded down her face, obscuring her vision, but her focus remained unwavering.
She closed the distance and got sight of the bandit yet again and this time her aim was precise. With a deep breath she let the arrow flying.
Soaked in the rain, the arrow found it mark
piercing the bandit leader's hand just as it descended towards the prince.
A cry of pain and surprise filled the air as the bandit dropped his weapon, his attack thwarted by the Adeline's unerring aim.
Adeline dismounted her horse, her sword drawn and eyes ablaze. The bandits, momentarily stunned by the turn of events, found themselves facing a knight driven by a fierce determination to protect his prince.
"I-its the silver haired knight, we have to run, hurry or might be killed" one of the bandits yelled with fear in his voice.
They run for their lives and their leader followed.
"It's not over you here me" he voiced out. Adeline chuckled and went to Prince Kael and the knight who protected him.
She smiled as she watched them run for their lives, soaked in the rain
ADELINE
(Praised)
"Well done, all of you, you did well today, holding up"
She smiled as she took the prince's hand pulled him for her hug.
"You did well my prince" she added. He blushed and his heart racing so fast he feared she would noticed and so he moved away.
He cleared his throat and spoke
PRINCE KAEL
(Startled)
"Never miss a moment"
"Yes never miss a moment" she responded with a smile. She finally observed her surrounding and asked the knights to gather quickly for the rain wasn't done with them yet.
ADELINE
(Sad smile)
"I remember this place"
